My Tamed Beast Returned with a Dragon Chapter 14 - I Heard Something Interesting

“How bad could I have been, really?”

“You almost lost an arm!”

SMACK! SMACK!

The sharp sound of slaps echoed as Mirinae mercilessly smacked Sol’s back.

Sol twisted away, shrieking.

In the final three minutes of the match, Sol had recklessly charged at Woori—

And nearly lost more than half of her right arm.

Now, Mirinae was scolding Woori too as he headed for his interview.

Thanks to a healer, injuries like that were easily treated, but the real issue was how recklessly they had fought.

“You two need to learn some self-control. Did you forget where you are?!”

“Sowwy…”

“It’s good to give your all, but you need to pick your battles.”

Sol hunched over, pretending to look pitiful.

Mirinae let out a deep sigh.

She understood why they had fought so desperately.

‘It must’ve been the dragon.’

That so-called battle.

In reality, it was humiliating.

They had been completely overwhelmed.

As S-rank hunters, they were used to being worshipped, not crushed.

It had been a long time since they felt powerless.

And their pride refused to accept it.

So, in the end—

Woori perfected “Dark Blooming Lotus.”

Sol created “Crimson Flame Dragon.”

Mirinae felt restless.

She needed to do something too.

But she hadn’t figured out what.

‘I have to be more useful to my team.’

Ding!

“What’s that?”

Sol perked up instantly.

A message notification.

“Who is it? Eunsae?”

“No, it’s Hyang-gi.”

“What did she say?”

It was a message from Oh Hyang-gi, an A-rank hunter from Dochun Guild.

Mirinae’s expression brightened.

“She found one. One of the three missing Japanese hunters.”

Yoo Eunsae threw three frisbees one after another.

Haneuli, Dandelion, and Jojjo raced off to fetch them.

Soon, the three monsters returned, each proudly holding a frisbee in their mouths.

“Good job!”

Their tails spun like propellers.

It had been a while since Eunsae played with her monsters, and she showered them with affection, scratching their heads and rubbing their necks.

In the stroller, the baby reached eagerly for the frisbees.

“Haa! Byaa!”

“Do you want to try?”

With a gentle smile, Eunsae placed a frisbee in the baby’s tiny hands.

Of course, he couldn’t throw it properly.

The frisbee plopped onto the ground right in front of the stroller.

Dandelion immediately retrieved it and placed it back into the baby’s hands.

“Kyaa!”

The baby burst into laughter.

“Kuuu!”

A cooing sound.

Eunsae turned toward Dodari, who had gone on a walk with Hwangsae.

The owl-like monster trotted up to her and spat something out.

A small mechanical device.

Eunsae tilted her head.

“Is this… a drone?”

Lately, she had been seeing these more often.

Her expression hardened.

She gathered her monsters around.

“The baby’s existence must stay hidden. If you see anything like this, destroy it immediately. And if any strangers come near, don’t let them approach. I’m counting on you.”

“Kuu!”

“Meeeeh!”

“Kraaah!”

The monsters responded fiercely.

After collecting the frisbees, Eunsae turned back toward the stroller—

And smiled brightly.

“Oh my, baby!”

A tiny red ladybug had landed on the baby’s nose.

The baby’s golden eyes focused intently on the small creature.

“This is a ladybug.”

Eunsae carefully scooped it up and placed it on her palm.

The baby reached out, fascinated.

“Hmm… Let’s wait until you’re a bit older before touching bugs. You might accidentally hurt it.”

After letting the baby observe for a moment, Eunsae gently released the ladybug into the air.

The baby’s eyes followed as it disappeared.

“Since we’re already outside, should we go for a little stroll?”

Humming softly, Eunsae pushed the stroller forward, enjoying the fresh air.

Yoo Eunsae stared at the wrinkled, walnut-like fruit Belquior handed her.

Her eyes filled with curiosity.

“What is this?”

“A fruit from Yggdrasil, the World Tree.”

“Why are you giving it to me…?”

“Plant it behind the house. It won’t be as powerful as the original, but if you raise it well, you’ll benefit greatly.”

Belquior spoke as if he were giving away a common apple, yet this was something even legendary heroes from other worlds would kill to obtain.

Eunsae nodded in understanding.

“Ah, is this for the baby?”

“What?”

“But will it grow fast enough? If it takes too long to mature, it’ll be useless by the time the baby’s all grown up.”

She snorted.

This wasn’t lettuce or herbs—she doubted it would sprout overnight.

Belquior pressed his fingers against his temple.

“With enough mana, it can grow quickly.”

Of course, that wasn’t the real reason.

The true power of Yggdrasil was its ability to purify and suppress curses.

It would help Eunsae, who was carrying a curse.

But instead of explaining that, he stayed silent.

Eunsae’s eyes twinkled.

“Mana? Oh… That’s the power you use, right?”

“Yes.”

“So if I plant this, you’ll help it grow?”

“Yes.”

Her eyes sparkled even more.

She thought to herself—

‘He’s trying so hard to act indifferent, but he’s actually doing all this for the baby!’
