My Tamed Beast Returned with a Dragon Chapter 21 - First Visit to Another World

Author: Asternkm

As he had confidently claimed, Sanchez didn’t take long to summon Belquior. While tending to the World Tree, Belquior looked at him with suspicion.

“Did you really do it properly?”

“How dare you doubt me? I’m the Dragon of Secret Arts! Now, just bring the human woman.”

“…Is she really necessary for this?”

Belquior wasn’t pleased. It was obvious Sanchez was just curious and wanted an excuse to call her.

“Instead of wasting time asking that, hurry up and bring her. The Arachne’s curse is eating away at her body every second—don’t you feel sorry for her?”

“Try saying that without a straight face.”

Despite his complaints, Belquior didn’t deny the implication that she was pitiful.

The World Tree’s energy had significantly slowed the curse’s progress, but it was only a temporary fix. Eunsae needed a fundamental solution.

“I’m going.”

“Tch. You’re getting even ruder now that you’ve got a mate. Hey! Aren’t you even going to thank me?”

Belquior was too exhausted to bother denying it and simply ignored Sanchez’s words. Leaving the volcanic region, he returned to where the World Tree stood.

Placing a hand on the tree’s glowing blue surface, Belquior spoke.

“I’m bringing that human woman here.”

[Oh my, you’re introducing me to her already? Should I tidy myself up?]

The World Tree’s branches rustled playfully. Belquior pressed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on.

“…She’s only coming to resolve the curse. More importantly, she and I have no relationship whatsoever.”

[Of course. She’s your long-awaited mate, after all, so it’s natural to be cautious.]

“Please don’t say that to her.”

[Go on, then. It’s been a while since I last saw the baby, too.]

The World Tree chuckled. Belquior couldn’t even get angry and instead teleported to Eunsae’s world.

He appeared in the backyard of Eunsae’s house. Sensing his presence, the magical beasts gathered one by one.

Belquior roughly patted the head of a giant furball that came rubbing against him and then moved forward.

Inside the house, he felt Eunsae and the baby’s presence.

The room was dark, covered with blackout curtains. Eunsae and the baby were fast asleep.

Their quiet, steady breathing was peaceful. His usually sharp nerves eased.

Belquior sat in the chair by the bed and let out a breath.

Maybe it was because of the nonsense he’d heard from the World Tree and Sanchez, but the thought suddenly crossed his mind—was Eunsae really his mate?

Even he was vaguely aware that his actions toward her were unusual.

Leaving his child with a human woman he barely knew.
Bringing her a World Tree fruit just because she was cursed.
Personally seeking out a way to break the curse and even gathering the materials himself.

Could all this really be considered just a simple act of kindness toward a random human woman?

Belquior already knew the answer. But having lived alone for so long, admitting it was difficult.

And even if he did admit it—what would change? He wasn’t sure of anything.

‘They say she has a Monster Taming trait. Maybe I’m being influenced by that.’

A ridiculous excuse. No human in existence could tame a dragon.

“…Oh, you’re here?”

Sensing movement, Eunsae stirred and sat up.

He didn’t dislike the way she welcomed him.

As if his earlier thoughts meant nothing, Belquior instinctively reached out and smoothed her disheveled hair.

Eunsae blinked in surprise but didn’t avoid him. Instead, she simply smiled softly.

“You’ve been behaving just as I instructed.”

A reminder to stay put and wait. Belquior spread his mana, checking Eunsae’s condition.

As the unfamiliar energy seeped into her, she flinched. Sensing her small tremor, Belquior let out a quiet “shh” like soothing a frightened animal.

Eunsae relaxed into his touch, the warmth spreading through her body feeling comforting.

“Your friend made a deal with me.”

“…..”

“I consulted my kin and found a way to break your curse. The preparations are complete. Will you come to my world with me?”

“…Your world?”

Eunsae’s eyes widened.

“Can I really go there?”

“Normally, it would be impossible. But since the World Tree exists here and Yggdrasil has granted permission, a workaround is available.”

“Wow… That’s amazing. Sure, I’ll go.”

She answered without hesitation, which irritated Belquior.

“You decide too easily. Aren’t you afraid of an unfamiliar world?”

“When I enter dungeons, I get thrown into different worlds all the time. It’s just part of life for Hunters.”

“Even so…”

Eunsae gently held the hand that cupped her cheek.

“Thank you.”

“…..”

“Truly, thank you, Belquior. I’ll make sure to repay this kindness.”

“That’s enough. Just get ready.”

Belquior stood from the bed. Eunsae followed suit.

“What should I pack?”

“No need to bring much. We’ll return once we’re done.”

“The baby’s coming too, right? Then I need baby supplies…”

“You prioritize the baby over yourself again. No need—I’ll take care of it.”

Eunsae felt proud. Belquior actually sounded like a father.

Compared to when she first met him, he had definitely changed.

She calmed the waking, fussing baby and dressed them. Then, she packed a small basket with baby clothes, toys, baby food, wet wipes, and hot water.

Belquior watched her with a look that said he had a lot to say but held back.

“The magical beasts…”

“They’ll be fine. Leave them here.”

Eunsae’s expression fell slightly. She worried about the beasts when she wasn’t around.

She pulled out her phone and opened a group chat.

[Eunsae: I’m going somewhere far with Belquior for a bit. Not sure how long I’ll be gone. Can you guys check in on my beasts? You can take them on your trip to China if needed.]

[Woori: Where exactly are you going?]

[Eunsae: Belquior’s world, where he and the baby originally lived.]

[Yuha: WHAT??????]

[Namgoong Sol: Eunsae does it again! “Eunsae Again!” The quiet cat always breaks the pot!]

[Eunsae: What are you talking about… I have to go to remove the curse. I’ll only take Lily with me.]

The chat exploded, but Eunsae coolly turned off her phone.

“I just want to bring Lily.”

“Fine.”

Eunsae reached out to her jeweled snake, Lily, who slithered up and coiled around her neck with a soft hiss.

She hugged each of her magical beasts one by one. Even though it was just a short farewell, it felt bittersweet to her.

“Guys, eat well, sleep well, and listen to the guild members while I’m gone, okay?”

Kuu-kuu!

Grrr.

Kaaak, kaak.

Kang-kang.

Eunsae reluctantly looked back at them one last time. Belquior, holding the baby in his arms, reached out a hand to her.

“You may lose consciousness on the way. But don’t worry—you’ll return here safely.”

“Yes. I’ll be in your care.”

Eunsae grasped Belquior’s hand firmly.

Dozens of magic circles surrounded them.

Eunsae woke up to the damp scent of earth.

“Mm… Huh?”

She had been sleeping under an enormous tree. Quickly, she sat up.

“Baby? Belquior-nim?”

*”-nim” (님) is a respectful suffix used to show politeness and high regard when addressing or referring to someone.

The surroundings were eerily silent, with only the rustling of leaves in the wind. Just as she was about to panic, an unfamiliar sight caught her attention.

“Wow.”

The tree she had been lying under was so massive that even five adults holding hands wouldn’t be able to wrap around its trunk.

Its bark shimmered with a faint blue hue, and soft light scattered from it.

The overwhelming energy it radiated was almost suffocating. It was pure, mystical.

“Yggdrasil, the World Tree.”

It was a breathtaking sight. Sunlight filtering through the leaves painted a scene as beautiful as a masterpiece.

Seeing the real thing made her realize— the World Tree growing in her backyard was nothing more than a miniature version.

[Hello.]

“Ahh! It spoke!”

Eunsae’s shoulders jumped. A voice, tinged with amusement, echoed in her mind again.

[Belquior told me about you. You’ve been taking care of the baby, haven’t you?]

“The World Tree? You’re really the World Tree?”

Eunsae’s eyes sparkled as she stepped closer. The sacred tree of another world was even more incredible than she had imagined.

She placed a hand on its trunk and answered,

“Yes. I’m not perfect, but I’ve been looking after the baby. He’s really adorable and lovable.”

[Hehe… Thank you for caring for Belquior’s son. What is your name?]

“My name is Yoo Eunsae. ‘Yoo’ is my surname, and ‘Eunsae’ is my first name.”

Eunsae glanced around.

“Where are the baby and Belquior-nim?”

[They went to look around nearby. They’ll be back soon.]

Eunsae leaned against the World Tree. Only now did she take in her surroundings.

The warm sunlight gently heated the land, and the long grass and wildflowers swayed like waves.

In the distance, moss-covered rocks jutted out, and fluffy clouds floated across the vast blue sky.

As she inhaled deeply, the crisp air filled her lungs. The rustling of leaves, the quiet footsteps of hidden animals, the fluttering wings of chirping birds—

She finally understood what it meant to feel clear-headed.

Eunsae couldn’t hide her excitement.

“This place is so beautiful.”

[Indeed. This is the land Belquior protects and nurtures.]

There was a quiet pride in the World Tree’s voice. Eunsae found that fascinating.

“You’re awake.”

“Hwaah, hwaaah, mama, hmm…”

The baby, who had been nestled grumpily in Belquior’s arms, reached out to Eunsae the moment he saw her awake, fussing for attention.

Eunsae naturally took him in her arms and rocked him gently. The baby snuggled close, as if trying to listen to her heartbeat.

“He’s getting clingier by the day. Don’t indulge him too much.”

“He’s just a baby. If he can’t be spoiled now, when can he?”

Eunsae wiped away the baby’s tears, snot, and drool with a handkerchief.

Lily, the jeweled snake that had been wrapped around the baby’s tiny hand, subtly slithered over to Eunsae.

She stroked Lily’s head in appreciation for its effort.

The World Tree murmured in amazement,

[How fascinating.]

Belquior cast a glance at the World Tree before turning to Eunsae.

“We’re moving. But first, there’s something we need to do.”
