Correction Chapter 106

Author: nicotine

‘While sunbae was neglecting me, I was still thinking of my husband and working hard to develop a drug… Are you interested?’

Naturally, Shin Jungmin hesitated. It was because he had to sleep with him. Kim Joohwan was dumbfounded by this. No matter if it was for treatment purposes, Yoo Shinwoo had already slept with countless omegas, and even at the very moment Jungmin was praying, he was spending the night with an omega. What was the point of staying chaste for a man like that?

‘Sunbae, you don’t have to sleep with me. It’s okay to just get the injection, so don’t worry.’

He tried to hold onto him that way so he couldn’t hesitate any longer, but soon Shin Jungmin, as if he had made up his mind, took Kim Joohwan’s hand. In fact, at first, neither of them slept together. But perhaps thinking that wasn’t enough, Jungmin was the one who first wanted to have a physical relationship, and Kim Joohwan, telling him to do as he pleased, held his body for the first time in a year.

Gently and affectionately… so that all the bad memories would disappear….

‘Kim Joohwan.’

On the night they had sex like that, Shin Jungmin cautiously called Joohwan’s name.

‘Treat me like before.’

‘Like before?’

‘As you wish…. It’s okay to do whatever you want.’

Why do you never cherish yourself?

‘Sunbae… you don’t look it, but you’re surprisingly forward.’

‘It’s fine if you think that. Just act like you used to. Otherwise….’

‘Otherwise?’

‘Somehow, it makes me sad.’

He had no idea how much his heart ached at those words. He hugged him and remained silent for a long time. Shin Jungmin doesn’t know what gentle sex is. He had never once had sex while being loved. Even if he had never told him, he could tell just by looking at his actions.

So he wanted to make him understand. But he was also afraid that if he suddenly did so, his feelings would be discovered and he would run away, so Kim Joohwan controlled himself. Sometimes he would push him hard until he lost his senses, and other times he would hold him as tenderly as if he might never be able to hold him again.

Each time, Jungmin disliked it and felt empty. Seeing him sitting quietly on the bed, staring into the distance, it was always hard to leave him alone and turn away coldly. Just like today.

“Sunbae, wake up.”

Perhaps because it was nighttime, despite driving slowly, he arrived in front of Jungmin’s house earlier than expected. Even after parking the car, he couldn’t bring himself to wake the soundly sleeping man, so he just watched him for a long time. Thinking it wouldn’t be good to let him sleep in the car any longer, he woke him, but as expected, he couldn’t get up. With a sigh of resignation, Kim Joohwan called the security guard. After his identity was confirmed, the underground parking garage door opened. He parked the car in the garage and helped Jungmin into the building.

Jungmin’s apartment was on the 23rd floor, and Yoo Shinwoo’s was on the 24th. There was only one apartment per floor in the building, and the residents on each floor interacted well, so it was almost like living next door.

Jungmin must have been happy when he moved here. As if he had everything… he probably thought he could overcome any thorny path. But in the end, this place couldn’t become Jungmin’s sanctuary.

When they arrived at the apartment, he took Jungmin’s hand and used his fingerprint to unlock the door. The door opened, and Kim Joohwan glanced at Jungmin. He still didn’t seem to have woken up. He really shouldn’t be like this when he’s out. Kim Joohwan tutted, opened the door, and went inside.

The lights turned on automatically as the owner entered. Without a moment to look around the apartment, he practically carried Jungmin inside, opened the bedroom door, laid him down, and then took off his shoes. As he placed the shoes in the entryway, he looked around at the state of Jungmin’s apartment and sighed.

There was nothing in the apartment. It was a relief there was at least a bed, but the living room had only a single black leather sofa sitting forlornly, and there wasn’t even a common TV.

On the bar table in the kitchen, medicine was scattered messily, and there were only a cup and a few dishes; even then, there was no sense of a person actually living there. Just in case, he opened the refrigerator, but even common groceries were nonexistent.

What on earth is he doing here? Is he even eating properly while taking all those pills and injections? He knew that was unlikely. He could feel him getting thinner day by day whenever he held him.

Is it right to continue administering the drug like this? Kim Joohwan clenched the medicine packet tightly in his hand and crumpled it, then was startled by a rustling sound.

Jungmin was tossing and turning in bed, bothered by his clothes. Seeing this, Kim Joohwan smiled, sat on the edge of the bed, and started to undress Jungmin.

“Stay still. I’ll do it for you.”

“Uuung…”

He couldn’t tell if he had understood him, nor was he sure if he had answered, but Jungmin’s movements soon stopped. Joohwan undressed him, changed him into pajamas, then laid him in bed and pulled the covers over him. To think he would end up taking care of an alpha like this. And what’s more, it felt quite good.

He tidied up the clothes roughly and checked the time; it was 2 AM. Thinking he should be heading home soon, he started to get up, but Jungmin’s arm wrapped around Kim Joohwan’s waist.

“It’s cold….”

Even though the temperature in the apartment wasn’t low, Jungmin’s body wasn’t regulating its temperature properly, so he seemed to feel the cold. Kim Joohwan looked down at Jungmin and stroked his hair.

“I wonder what you’ll say when you wake up.”

And he wanted to see that bewildered and dumbfounded face, too. Kim Joohwan carefully got up, took off his jacket, and lay down next to him in bed. Then, he looked at Jungmin and hugged him tightly. Even though he was also an alpha and Jungmin wasn’t a small person, he was so thin… he could feel how he fit into his arms without any lack of space.

His body was so cold that he suddenly became scared. A fear that the flame of Jungmin’s life might be slowly extinguishing came over him, and Kim Joohwan squeezed his eyes shut and hugged him even tighter.

✽✽✽

“Uhm….”

Feeling the intense sunlight, Jungmin blinked his eyes. Where am I? He looked around and saw it was his own apartment. He couldn’t remember when or how he had gotten here. He scratched himself and got out of bed to find he was even wearing pajamas. He should have some memory if he had moved this much… thinking he must have had too much to drink last night, he left the bedroom.

“You’re awake?”

“Huh?”

Kim Joohwan was sitting on the sofa, working on a laptop. It was a familiar scene he had seen somewhere before, so Jungmin rubbed his eyes and looked around. It was definitely his own apartment.

“What? Why are you here?”

Kim Joohwan smiled, closed his laptop, and stood up.

“I knew you wouldn’t remember.”

“What?”

“You were the one who held onto me, sunbae.”

He strode over and stood in front of Jungmin. What is it? Why does this guy look so big today?

“When did I?”

“I should have filmed it. You wouldn’t let me go, grabbing my waist and holding on, it was so…”

“So what?”

“So cute.”

Feeling Kim Joohwan’s face approaching, Jungmin pushed him away in horror.

“Are you crazy?”

“I took care of you, I even slept next to you. Don’t you think I deserve at least a peck on the lips for that? I should be hearing ‘thank you,’ but instead I get this cold shoulder.”

“Ha.”

Jungmin sighed and ruffled his hair. As he came to his senses, he vaguely remembered the events of last night. For some reason, Kim Joohwan had come back to pick him up, and he remembered getting into the car…. Of course, his memory cut off after that, but one thing was certain: Kim Joohwan being here was unavoidable.

Maybe what he said was true. He had been feeling the cold severely lately, so he had been sleeping with several layers of clothes on. He might have said that subconsciously.

“Yeah… thanks.”

“Wow, it’s so hard to hear a ‘thank you’ from you, sunbae.”

Kim Joohwan shrugged. Just then, the intercom rang. The sound of a notification that someone had arrived…. Jungmin’s heart pounded loudly. As he urgently tried to go toward the door, Kim Joohwan stopped him.

“It’s my secretary.”

“What?”

“I said, it’s my secretary. Not Yoo Shinwoo.”

He wanted to say that was impossible. He wanted to say that at this time of day, Shinwoo hyung would have come by now, but the reason he couldn’t was… Shinwoo had never once come to this apartment, except for the day Jungmin moved in.

Every day… even if he opened the door and waited, he would only tell him to come to his place, and never once said he wanted to come to this one. He had never even peeked in for a moment. It seemed he wasn’t curious at all about how Jungmin was living.

Thanks to that, the apartment had become this bleak. The apartment he had wanted to decorate… according to Yoo Shinwoo’s taste, was just in a state of neglect.

Kim Joohwan went to the entryway and came back with a paper bag. Soon, takeout containers from the paper bag were placed on the table.

“Let’s eat.”

“No… it’s okay.”

“Eat. Your body has to be healthy for the medicine to work well.”

At Kim Joohwan’s words, Jungmin sat down without another word. When he opened the lid of the lavish-looking meal box, it was filled with porridge and nourishing foods. It was enough to last at least three meals.

Kim Joohwan took out his own portion, placed it on the table, and sat across from him.

“I can eat too, right? You’re not going to kick me out?”

“I’m not that heartless.”

“Wow… you have no idea how heartless you can be, sunbae.”

Kim Joohwan, who said that, seemed to be in a pretty good mood. Well, does it matter? It’s not like he’s going to be here for a thousand years… it should be fine if he stays for a little while. For the first time since moving here, the apartment felt lively, and Jungmin felt strange. Only now did it finally feel like he was at home.
