Correction Chapter 14

“Shinwoo hyung. Shinwoo hyung.”

A feverish moan is heard.

“Youngmin. Damn it… Youngmin… My omega. My omega, right? Youngmin, you’re mine, right? Tell me. Please tell me!”

And a desperate, pleading voice. A pitiful alpha craving love.

“Yes. I’m your omega, hyung. I’m your omega. I want to have your baby, hyung. Knot me.”

“I will. If you’ll just be mine… anything… I’ll do anything. Youngmin. Youngmin.”

God was cruel.

The younger brother hugged the man with joy, and Jungmin, watching the two share a deep kiss, closed the door and went into his room. Tears wouldn’t come.

It just felt like the world had ended.

Jungmin stared blankly at the ceiling.

“My… omega… he said….”

The words he wanted to hear so badly.

The words he longed for so desperately.

“Yoo Shinwoo’s omega.”

Yoo Shinwoo’s omega… It had been Shin Jungmin’s long-held dream. Truly.

Time passed, and Jungmin and Youngmin became university students. Jungmin spent his days busily. He participated in all school events, including the freshman orientation, and even went on overseas volunteer trips. He studied hard, got good grades on exams, and even received a scholarship. If he had any time left over, he exercised and built up his physique. Jungmin moved relentlessly, as if he would go crazy if he didn’t do something.

On the other hand, Youngmin was in a good relationship with Shinwoo. Since that day, the two had started a not-so-secret relationship, and unlike before, Youngmin had settled down comfortably with Shinwoo, spending his days happily. However, he rarely had a chance to talk about his relationship with Jungmin. It was difficult even to see each other’s faces.

Thus, the twins, for the first time in their lives, began to walk their separate paths, their lives diverging.

A sunny weekend during the week of their second semester break.

“I’ve come to ask for your permission to date.”

Yoo Shinwoo, smartly dressed in a suit, came to the twins’ house. In front of the assembled family, he bowed his head and spoke to the twins’ father, Chairman Shin. Chairman Shin smiled awkwardly and gestured for Shinwoo to sit down.

“Youngmin? I have two handsome sons in my house, so you need to be clear.”

“Yes? Yes. Ah, Youngmin.”

“Oh, Dad! Of course it’s him! Would it be Jungmin? Jungmin might still be a beta.”

Youngmin linked arms with his father and acted cute. Since they didn’t have a daughter, Chairman Shin melted at Youngmin’s display of affection.

Chairman Shin felt both annoyed at Yoo Shinwoo for asking to date his precious son and wanted to tell him to wait a bit longer since they were still young… However, he also thought that Yoo Shinwoo was a good match – good family background, good character, and a promising future – so it wouldn’t be bad to pair them up early.

“Alright. I assume you two made this decision carefully.”

“Tha, Thank you…! Ouch!!”

Overjoyed at the approval, Shinwoo hit his head on the table while bowing.

“Oh my! Shinwoo, are you okay?”

“Yes, I’m fine. Hahaha.”

“Shinwoo hyung, what was that! Ahahaha!”

Everyone laughed at his silly appearance, but Jungmin only managed a small smile. After eating together and chatting for a while, Youngmin and Shinwoo went upstairs, and Jungmin helped with the cleaning up.

“Jungmin.”

“Yes, Mother.”

A middle-aged woman approached and held Jungmin’s hand tightly.

“You’ll present soon. And you’ll meet someone even better.”

Jungmin knew that both his mother and father were worried that he hadn’t presented yet. So he tried not to show it at home, but as expected, parents could see through their child. However, there was something they didn’t know. That Jungmin liked Shinwoo…. They seemed to think that Jungmin’s gloomy expression was simply due to not having presented yet.

“I know.”

Jungmin smiled and gently pulled his hand away from his mother’s. He finished the remaining cleaning and then went upstairs.

“Ugh!”

Before entering his room, he went into the bathroom on the second floor and threw up everything he had just eaten. The food he had forced down came right back up. Jungmin stumbled, flushed the toilet, and rinsed his mouth. After dry heaving a few times, he went into his room, covered himself with a blanket, and lay down. Soon, he heard the sound of the door across the hall opening and closing.

Laughter and singing could be heard, and soon after, the sounds of the bed moving and occasional moans followed.

Jungmin pulled the blanket over his head.

Despite all his efforts to avoid it, this day had finally come. He had to witness their meeting and the acceptance of their relationship firsthand. It was cruel. For the first time, he resented Yoo Shinwoo. He truly had never thought of him, not even once.

Well, it was only natural. He had never expressed his feelings. He had foolishly waited to become an omega and ended up losing him like this. He should have confessed. He should have expressed his feelings sooner. If only he had known he would regret it this much.

He thought he had no more tears left to shed, but the tears kept flowing endlessly.

Thus, Youngmin and Shinwoo’s relationship was announced to both families, and the parents met. Two days later, Youngmin, beaming, burst into Jungmin’s room without knocking. Jungmin was slumped over his desk. He had been studying English and had a headache.

“What? Were you sleeping?”

He wanted to rest a bit. He should have just gone to the study cafe. Jungmin regretted it.

“Shin Jungmin, wake up! I have something to tell you.”

At the clear, ringing voice, Jungmin slowly opened his eyes. Before him, his pretty younger brother was grinning from ear to ear, seemingly overjoyed about something.

“…What is it?”

“Shin Jungmin! I’m getting engaged?!”

Seemingly oblivious to his sick brother, he boasted excitedly.

“We’re going to do it next spring! And the wedding will be right after you graduate from college! Isn’t it amazing? Oh my god, you know, I never realized it about Shinwoo hyung before. We were so close that I didn’t have any romantic feelings for him at all. But once we started dating… it’s really great. He knows everything about me, so we understand each other without even saying anything! It’s awesome! Plus… our intimacy is amazing. And!”

Youngmin, seizing the opportunity, excitedly recounted his relationship details to Jungmin. Jungmin, feeling his headache worsening, pressed his thumb between his eyebrows.

“Youngmin.”

Jungmin managed to summon his strength and called out to Youngmin. His subdued voice testified to his poor condition.

“Huh? Why does your voice sound like that? Are you sick?”

“I’m tired. Would you mind leaving? I want to sleep a bit.”

“Oh man~ Stop studying so much! It’ll all be useless once you become a beta! Maybe if you were an alpha. I’m going. I’m supposed to meet Shinwoo hyung. Take some medicine if you’re sick! Oh, and get my engagement present ready. I have high expectations!”

With a bang, the door slammed shut, and Jungmin closed his eyes. Everything felt tiresome and unpleasant. He didn’t yet know how to escape this sadness and pain. The fact that he didn’t know how long it would take was what scared him the most.

A body temperature he missed so much. Half-asleep, Jungmin raised his hand and grasped the hand stroking his forehead.

‘Huh? It’s being held…?’

He thought it was a dream, but it felt real, so Jungmin slightly opened his eyes. Shinwoo’s face came into view in his blurry vision….

Tears welled up instantly.

“What were you doing while you were this sick?”

A slightly reproachful voice.

“You… were worried about me?”

“Of course, you damn fool. The doctor was just here. You’re so young, and you have a stomach ulcer. Plus, you have a bad cold… Ugh.”

It’s not a dream….

“Wasn’t… it a date? Youngmin said earlier….”

“Yeah, it was a date, but you ruined it. He said you were sick, so I came to check on you, and you were collapsed. Date or no date… Youngmin is freaking out.”

“Sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing? Get some more sleep.”

“Shinwoo hyung.”

“Yeah.”

“Can I ask you a favor?”

“What kind of favor?”

“It’s nothing weird.”

“Even if it’s weird, it’s fine. I’ll do anything you ask.”

A lie.

“Call my name.”

“What?”

“My name… call my name….”

“Are you turning into a baby because you’re sick?”

“Please….”

“Okay, Shin Jungmin.”

“One more time.”

“Jungmin.”

He wished his heart would just stop right there. He wished he could just die like this…. Then he could die remembering only Shinwoo hyung calling his name. How childish a thought. They say love makes you childish, and he was a perfect example of that.

“Jungmin… Go to sleep now.”

“Will you stay here?”

“Yeah. Alright. I’ll stay here.”

He said he would stay. Shinwoo hyung….

He called my name, he was kind to me… and he said he would stay….
