At that answer, Park Dohyul fell into thought for a moment.

Ever since he resolved to obtain information, he had secretly listened to the conversations between the Prime Minister and Lee Seohoo several times.

“When I assigned you to monitor the Crown Princess, if you had just noticed the existence of the child sooner, this wouldn’t have happened. Do you understand?”

“I apologize. Because that woman hid it so desperately… I was late in noticing.”

In the past, the Crown Princess had met a tragic death.

He had overheard mention that Lee Seohoo had played the role of monitoring Seolyeong’s mother.

So he was curious.

“Then… are you saying you knew since Seolyeong was born, yet you hid that fact from my father??”

At Park Dohyul’s question, Lee Seohoo remained silent with his uniquely unfathomable expression.

When he didn’t answer immediately, Park Dohyul began to guess his thoughts.

‘Could it be that he already felt my father’s methods were wrong since back then? Maybe that’s why he started harboring different intentions.’

Park Dohyul himself had only ever followed his father’s will in the past.

But upon learning of Seolyeong’s existence, he harbored doubts for the first time and ultimately made his decision.

If so, Lee Seohoo too… might have changed his mind for a similar reason.

“If it’s hard to talk about, you don’t have to force yourself. Are you saying you thought my father’s actions were wrong since then and had many concerns? Just… it must have been hard for you too.”

Park Dohyul continued softly as if soothing Lee Seohoo’s heart.

Then Lee Seohoo quietly nodded and answered briefly.

“Yes. That is correct. Though I have committed countless evil deeds following His Excellency’s commands since then, I intend to do so no longer.”

He clenched his fists tightly and spoke with the utmost firmness.

“I will help Young Master and the others drag the present king down from that seat. Without fail.”

At the eyes flickering with subtle anger, Park Dohyul nodded.

“I look forward to working with you.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

The two looked around cautiously and quietly left the spot.

Leaving behind only a new resolve for the many more things to be accomplished in the future, and a firm promise engraved with trust.

After the alliance was formed.

The chief, Jeon Bongjin, and the captain continued their meeting throughout the night.

Laying my head on the chief’s lap, I kept falling asleep and waking up again, listening to their conversation.

“We will relocate the base near the capital.”

At Kim Gangdu’s declaration, everyone’s face instantly stiffened. The signs of nervously gulping were evident.

“The capital? The risk of discovery is too high!”

Jeon Bongjin immediately retorted, and the chief, as if he had already thought of it, calmly pointed to the map spread on the rock.

“I plan to divide the base into two. One in the Okryeong region at the southern end, and another near the capital. We will operate Seolhwa centered around these two places and expand our military strength. Of course, the strongholds currently in operation will be maintained as they are, and we’ll establish an organic communication network.”

Finishing his words, the Chief turned his head to look at Jeon Bongjin.

“And I would like General Jeon to take charge of the Okryeong base.”

“Then, are you saying Your Highness will personally stay in the capital?”

Everyone raised their heads in surprise, and the chief blinked his eyes for a moment before nodding.

“Yes. Near the capital lies Mount Imwang. I know a secluded place suitable for hiding myself. And only I, Gaon, and Seolyeong will go to the capital. Dupil will go to the southern base, assist General Jeon, and handle communications.”

“Understood, Chief.”

As the atmosphere grew heavy, Jeon Bongjin asked carefully.

“When are you thinking for the date of the uprising?”

It was practically the most important question. The reason the chief had gathered people and solidified his will for so many years was ultimately for this day.

Now that time is approaching.

“Roughly two years from now.”

At the chief’s words, everyone gulped and looked at each other.

This was not a simple choice.

It was a matter where they had to risk their lives. If things went wrong by any chance, the only thing that would return to them was a purge.

In other words, a single opportunity.

However, the reality was that their troops and supplies were severely lacking compared to the government forces right now.

Therefore, the Chief added.

“We must divide the base, meticulously prepare for military training, and determine the most appropriate date.”

“Then… what is the first thing we must do upon arriving at the capital?”

“In the capital, we must find a noble family worth cooperating with. And since the day of the uprising must be determined based on information… we will have to thoroughly monitor the royal family’s internal events, the Prime Minister’s movements, and the factions’ activities without missing anything.”

In other words, moving to the capital was not a simple relocation, but a preliminary step to obtain all information and strategically determine the timing.

Because that very thing was the key that would decide the success or failure of this uprising.

Just then, the captain, who had been continuously listening to the conversation, jumped up.

“Well, I think we’ve sorted things out now!”

Clapping his hands, he continued.

“I believe it’s time to talk about what we can do to help?”

“What you can do to help?”

When the chief asked, the captain smiled broadly and crossed his arms. Beside him, Damho also crossed his arms for no reason.

At the changed atmosphere, I, who had been half-lying down, rustled myself up.

“That’s right! Us pirates can do quite a lot more than you think!”

Damho smirked and said confidently!

Swaaaash—.

So right now, we were out on the beach.

“From what I hear, it seems the problem right now is getting to the capital or the southern edge, correct?”

“That is so. If we ride horses, we have to present identification tags, and doing so increases the probability of our tail being stepped on.”

“Then let me make a suggestion!”

The captain proposed firmly and confidently.

“We will take both of you by the waterway!”

That was a method we hadn’t even thought of, but clearly an effective one!

“Buttt… what are we waiting for right nowww?”

I turned my head this way and that, letting my hair blow in the sea breeze.

Then Damho came closer and whispered.

“Yeong, my dad called other ships. One ship to go south, one ship to go to the capital. Because we need two.”

“Huh? There’s another ship besides the one we rode here?”

Damho shrugged his shoulders as if to say that was obvious.

“Of course! This time it’s much faster, and much bigger!”

“R-really? That’s amazing. The one before was reallly—big too, but there’s a ship bigger than that!?”

While I was tilting my head in curiosity.

Gaon packed the luggage, moved it to the cart, and even finished reporting to the chief.

Jeon Bongjin and Dupil’s side had also finished their preparations. Since they had to leave before dawn broke, everyone clearly showed signs of nervousness.

Unable to hold back, Gaon asked.

“Captain Kang, then who on earth is bringing that ship? Are you saying there’s another captain besides you?”

“Of course! There is! A very scary person! A captain far superior to me!”

“You’re saying there’s someone who steers a ship much better than Captain Kang?”

“There is! Someone much cooler and stronger than my father!”

Even Damho chimed in and nodded at his father’s words.

“Haha, yeah. I can’t even compare!”

As the captain chimed in again, everyone’s curiosity began to surge.

And it was then.

“There they come!”

The Captain shouted, shaping his hands like a telescope and looking out at the sea.

Soon, piercing through the darkness, a massive ship with huge sails flapping approached.

‘It’s huge!’

It was exactly as Damho had said.

It was twice as big as the ship we had ridden here, and imposing.

‘By the way, another captain… who could it be?’

While everyone was wondering who the owner of the ship was.

The ship dropped its anchor and the boarding plank slowly lowered.

Thud, thud, thud.

And from the darkness, holding only a couple of torches, a person approached in the faint light.

It was dim so I couldn’t see clearly, but it was a woman.

With a presence and an impressive, confident stride.

The moment her figure became clear.

“Mother!!”

Damho shouted loudly!
