I’m Trying to End This Possession Chapter 265
The messenger’s fingertips twitched once and then went still. Seized with terror, Sandra could only tremble.
“Tsk. You and Huan are truly pathetic children. Actually, I suppose you’re slightly better. At least you gave birth to an excellent son like Rumie.”
At that moment, Sandra found her father utterly repulsive. Even at a time like this, he’s praising Rumie? After killing someone to conceal Rumie’s biological father and protect his honor?
“Father, do you really like Rumie that much?”
“Like him?” Anton laughed as though that word was far too weak to describe it. “Sandra. The greatest achievement of your life was giving birth to Rumie.”
“…”
Those words felt like a slap across Sandra’s face. Her hand trembled. The artificial nail on her little finger felt awkward. Rumie tore out her pinky nail when he tortured her before. That b*stard dog-like unfilial son, a complete sc*mbag who loses sight of his mother or anyone else whenever he becomes obsessed with a woman. And Father knows that, yet he still says things like this!
Just then, a bird flew in through the window and perched nearby. Tilting its head at the corpse, it opened its beak.
[Why has such a precious life been wasted like this?]
It spoke with a human voice. The voice of a man Sandra knew very well.
“Mind your own business.”
[If you don’t mind, bring me that body. I happened to be in need of a young male test subject.]
“Very well.” When Anton rang a bell, his most trusted aides entered. “Deliver that corpse to Rodrigo.”
“Yes, Your Grace.”
Sandra blankly watched the aides carry the body away.
Then Anton said to the bird, “I heard Dana and Rumie have arrived.”
[Rumie came too?] The bird tilted its head in disbelief. [Why? Didn’t that fellow Rumie hate Eldiva Island so much that he didn’t even want to mention it?]
“Whatever the reason, since things have come to this, you are absolutely not to leave the laboratory for the time being.”
[Of course.] With that, Rodrigo’s communication bird flew out the window.
Sandra’s face turned pale. She couldn’t let it be discovered. Absolutely not. No matter what happens, it must never be discovered. Or else Carl will despise me to death…
“Prepare yourself, Sandra. Let’s go welcome Rumie and Danaena.”
“What if… Rumie realizes everything?”
“Don’t worry. I have ways.” Anton looked at Sandra with displeasure. “More importantly, be nicer to Ingria.”
“…What?”
“I say that because you seem too indifferent toward that child.”
“…”
“She is the princess of Kingdom Lucile, after all. The Aren royal family of Kingdom Lucile and the Rolland family have shared a special friendship through a long-standing alliance. Take good care of Ingria so that the relationship remains unchanged.”
Sandra doubted her ears. Why bring up Ingria at times like this? As expected, her father can’t be trusted. He has no intention of protecting her honor whatsoever. It had always been like that. His children had always come second. Just as he did with Huan. If a situation like just now arose, he could kill me without hesitation… Why, just why had Rumie come here and made me this anxious?
Driven nearly mad by nervousness, Sandra squeezed her eyes shut. I should never have brought Rumie into the family. When he was little, she should never have simply abandoned him on the streets. She should have sold him to the filthiest sl*ve market imaginable so no one could ever find him. With looks so handsome they were hard to come by in a lifetime, he would surely have had customers overflowing. And once he’d been worn out, her father would never have considered bringing him into the ducal family! If only Rumie didn’t exist. If only Rumie didn’t exist!
…Even now, it would be nice if Rumie disappeared. But… couldn’t she get rid of him even now? The moment she changed her perspective, her view broadened instantly. Sandra swallowed.
Right, this is Eldiva Island. The island Rumie hates so much, and an island filled with people who hate Rumie just as much. People who would gladly try to kill him if circumstances allowed… A land of opportunity. And my connections on Eldiva Island are better… After all, Sandra had frequently come here for vacations.
Back in her youth, Sandra had made the mistake of pitying him and merely abandoning him on the streets instead of selling him to the red-light district. But things are different now. This time, she would not be swayed by pointless sympathy! Yes, I don’t need such an ungrateful son. I have Allice, my daughter, who is like my other self.
Besides, Sandra knew very well how to trap him. She had done it once before.

After several days of sailing, they finally arrived at Eldiva Island.
Goodness, the sea is really beautiful. The seawater was so clear that the coral beneath was visible, sparkling with an emerald hue. It was easy to see why this place had become a famous resort for the upper class, despite once being a pirate island.
Before disembarking at the harbor, Ingria whispered into Dana’s ear. “Danaena, you’re going to be very surprised when you meet Lord Anton on Eldiva Island.”
“Huh? Why?”
“Lord Anton has changed a lot.”
“Changed…?”
“He’s become younger.”
“…”
“I’m serious.”
What did that even mean?
Dana then saw those who had come to greet them and understood. He really has become younger.
“Thank you for enduring such a long journey. And Rumie, I’m truly grateful that you even came.”
A very young man was greeting them while acting as their elder. And yet, his face seemed strangely familiar…
“Have you been well, Grandfather?”
Anton Rolland had become as youthful as a man in his twenties.
“Yes, yes. Ingria, you came too. Have you been well?”
“Yes, Lord.”
“Dana, thank you for coming as well. You must still be unsettled after only recently rising from your sickbed.”
Curly caramel-colored hair and red eyes. He had a cute face resembling Allice, but his gaze was sharp like an eagle’s, and his physique was exceptionally robust, making him seem anything but weak.
Anton was not the only one who had regained youth.
“Welcome. Seeing that you’ve recovered your health brings me joy.”
Sandra had regained her youth as well. She greatly resembled Allice, yet possessed a sensuality and seductive charm entirely absent in Allice. Even as a woman, Dana found Sandra extraordinarily alluring. Well, they said she had once captivated practically every man in the empire. There had to be a reason for that. No wonder Carl had willingly agreed to marry a woman ten years older than him. He had not accepted the engagement for no reason.
What is going on? Dana’s wariness rose to its peak. They had definitely consumed holy water. But how?
Viego Windsor only granted holy water to those who had migrated to the sanctuary. There were rare occasions when people living outside the sanctuary received it, but those cases were exceedingly few. Viego Windsor would never have given holy water to outsiders without demanding something in return.
There was something behind this. There must have been some kind of deal with the Daiana Church.
“Rumie, I’m happy you came too.”
Rumie stared silently down at Sandra, who had linked arms with him, then merely raised the corners of his mouth in a smile. “Are you truly happy?”
“…” Sandra’s face stiffened for an instant, but only briefly. “Of course. Come, let’s get into the carriage and head to the castle. Please pay a visit to poor Adma.”
