I’m Trying to End This Possession Chapter 289
Ingria waved her hand about, her face flushed red. “This man is my lover. You met him last time too, remember? The man I rolled around with in the garden.”
“…Your lover?”
“Ah, not just my lover.” Perhaps her tongue had loosened. She spoke with slurred words. “He’s my father’s lover, my aunt’s lover, my mother’s lover, and my older brother’s lover.” Then she rose and grabbed the chin of the man who looked just like Rumie. “Look. He’s far too handsome to keep all to yourself. With a face this handsome…” She giggled as she sensuously stroked his cheek. “Wouldn’t it be better if we all took turns with him?”
“…”
“Ah, my poor twin siblings. I promised I’d lend him to them for one night as a present on their coming-of-age day… It’s such a shame they died before that day even came.”
The words spilling from her mouth were filthy and vile. She was deliberately throwing those words at Rumie like filth, intending to humiliate him since Rumie looked exactly like that man.
“This man was originally a sl*ve from the northern barbarians, but my father apparently bought him from the Red Ship a very long time ago, paying an exorbitant price. They say he paid the equivalent of an entire fiefdom for this man.”
“Ingria.”
Anton called her name in a low, warning voice. But Ingria ignored him and continued babbling.
“Aah, don’t worry. We’ve hardly ever shown this expensive face to anyone else. Except for a select few and the Rolland family—”
“Ingria! Can’t you shut your mouth?!”
“I don’t want to.”
“Ingria!”
“That Rumie acting all high and mighty as though he’s so pure while he had a secret affair with Danaena!” Ingria pointed at him with bloodshot eyes. “That man and I are equally morally defective! So why on earth should I hide it?”
Rumie pressed a hand to his forehead. His head was throbbing. Was it because of the shocking things Ingria was spewing out? Or was it because of the dizzyingly sweet scent that filled the room? Something terribly potent seemed to be penetrating all the way into his brain and stirring it around…
“So let’s just tell him everything now. We struggled to keep it hidden all this time because we were afraid Rumie would be shocked, but there’s no need anymore. After all, Rumie is just a vulgar human being like the rest of us!”
“Ingria! I told you to stop!”
But Ingria paid no heed to Anton’s warning. “Like I said, this man is my lover, the lover of the Aren royal family, and at the same time, the lover of the Rolland family. The Aren royal family introduced him to deepen our friendship with the Rolland family!” As she shouted those words, saliva dribbled down her chin. Her face had fallen into something bestial, devoid of even a shred of reason. “Anton Rolland was so fond of this man, too!”
“Ingria!”
“I heard that once, Sandra Rolland, your mother, was so infatuated with this man that she lost her senses. They say she avoided him after giving birth to you. I suppose she found it rather unsettling that the father and son looked so much alike!” Ingria burst into loud laughter, as though mocking all of them. “I heard she never even gave you a name because she intended to throw you away from the very beginning, and simply called you by the same name as this man. Aah, now that I think about it, it might get confusing from now on. Shall we call you Second Rumie?”
Rumie… didn’t answer. No, he could not answer. The air, the scent, everything in that moment was so nauseating that he had to devote all his strength simply to enduring it.
“Come now. I’ve been honest with you, so you should confess too. Rumie! When was the first time you had a relationship with Danaena?”
“…That never happened.”
“Don’t play dumb! Don’t lie!” Ingria barked like a beast. “Danaena confessed everything! Danaena confessed that you fell for her seduction!”
Danaena? No, that couldn’t be. It had never happened. I had never done anything like that with Danaena… Although I had touched her breasts once. But that was because she had forcibly taken my hand…
[Are you really okay with doing it again?]
[Yes, I’m okay…]
Or was it not? Has something like that really happened?
Inside his pocket, the crystal orb was still showing Rumie having an affair with Danaena…
[I like it. Ah.]
Was that why? Suddenly, Rumie was confused. Has it happened? Had I really had a secret affair with Danaena?
“…That never happened.”
No. Get a grip. It never happened.
“Nothing of the sort happened, so stop saying such bizarre things.”
That scent. It was because of those red candles. They were disrupting his reason, dragging him, or rather everyone in this room, toward something primitive. So he had to leave. He had to get out of this room before he became even more disordered.
Danaena. I’ll take only Danaena and get out of here. Rumie tried to go to the woman tied to the chair, but Anton grabbed his shoulder and stopped him.
“What are you trying to do?”
“I’m taking Danaena with me.”
“That won’t do.”
A powerful hand gripped his shoulder. Rumie looked down at that hand. It was his maternal grandfather’s hand.
“That won’t do, Rumie.”
The hand that had once found a young boy wandering the streets and reached out to him, asking him to come along with him. The hand that had saved him… Had he touched that man who looked exactly like me with this very hand? Rumie stopped breathing. Nausea and dizziness had been surging through him violently for some time now. Enduring it had become genuinely painful. But that was not the only thing tormenting him.
“Fine. Since it’s come to this, I’ll tell you everything. That thing is not your younger sister. She’s an artificial human created by the Daiana religion.”
[Rumie.]
“Do you understand? I’m saying that Danaena is not your blood relative.”
[It’s good.]
Anton’s voice and the moans coming from inside the orb became tangled together. The voices overlapped and became so hopelessly intertwined that he could no longer tell which one was reality.
“So you have no reason to concern yourself with Danaena. Stop worrying about Danaena’s safety.”
[I love you, Dana. I feel so good right now, so…]
Rumie clenched his teeth. Enough. Please, would everyone just shut up?
“Since you’re so concerned about her, fine. I’ll give Danaena to you.”
[Just a little more. Just a little. I’m sorry, sorry.]
His breath grew ragged, and heat surged through his body. Rumie curled his trembling hand into a fist.
“I’ll permit it, so take Danaena as much as you want. But I will not allow you to take her away right now.”
At that moment, the Rumie inside the orb whispered urgently.
[Dana, let go. I’m—]
[No, don’t pull away. It’s okay.]
[You can’t. You might get pregnant. Hurry.]
[I want it, so please, give it to me. Give it to me.]
At those words, a man burst out, unable to be restrained any longer… followed by a long, intense spasm… Rumie’s jaw tightened. His knees trembled, and a tingling shiver spread all the way to his toes. Get a grip. That’s fake. Don’t listen. Therefore, I, right now, right now… What were we talking about again?
Then Ingria spoke as though utterly astonished. “Rumie… You, right now…”
“…”
“My goodness. I’ve never seen your body like that before. I thought you were impotent. Does merely imagining doing that with Danaena make you react like this?”
At those words, Rumie glared at Ingria with bloodshot eyes. He saw Ingria involuntarily shrink back when their gazes met. In a tightly suppressed voice, he said, “It’s not like that…”
It wasn’t like that. His body was simply throbbing because of those damn candles.
“Grandfather.”
So let’s leave. Quickly. Out of this room…
“Let go of me. I need to take Danaena with me right now.”
At that moment, the man, who is the lover of the Rolland family and the Aren family, shouted. “No!” The very man who looked exactly like Rumie.
