I’m Trying to End This Possession Chapter 84
His anger stemmed from something completely different from what Sandra expected.
“You made such a rash statement?”
“Carl, are you… angry about that? Because you’re afraid of losing Danae’s wealth?”
“What else should I be angry about right now?” Carl looked at Sandra as if he couldn’t understand her at all. “It’s not just that. How could you say such insulting things to Danae?”
“Carl!”
“How could you spread such a lowly rumor? Even if others talk like that, you shouldn’t.”
“But it’s true!”
“What?”
“It’s true! I saw it! I saw it clearly with my own eyes!”
Of course, it wasn’t Sandra who had seen it but Allice. And there was no way her daughter would lie.
“There’s no way. You must have seen it wrong.” Carl spoke calmly, clearly not believing a word. “Even if it’s true that they went into the room together, so what? They must have had something to talk about.”
“At night, in a bedroom, what could they possibly have to talk about?!”
“Don’t slander them.”
“They even drew the curtains! If they were only going to talk, there was no need for that!”
“Enough.”
“Ha! With that noble face, receiving praise like a saintess—”
“Stop it, Sandra.”
Ah! Sandra was startled. It was because she saw a flicker of contempt in Carl’s eyes.
Carl gave a cold, ice-like smile and warned enough. “Enough now, Sandra Windsor.”
She gasped, so shocked that she could barely breathe. Did he just look at me with contempt? How could he look at me with such eyes?
“Never speak of such nonsense again. It’s nothing more than a baseless rumor.” A moment later, Carl stepped back, clutching his head. He looked terribly exhausted. “And Ignis and Dana can never marry. Even if Viego gives his permission, I’ll oppose it.”
“…”
“So, don’t go around saying you agree to their marriage. As long as I’m alive, I will never allow it.”
“…”
“Even if Dana wants it… Even if she says she wants to marry Ignis, it won’t happen. Just look at what kind of delinquent that Ignis is. Do you know how filthy his habits with women are? He’s nothing compared to Dana. He’s definitely approaching her because he’s after her body or her money.” Carl murmured with a weary face. “I’d rather kill Ignis than let that happen. Absolutely…”
Sandra stared at her husband, utterly dumbfounded. What about you? You’re exactly the same. You’re after Danae’s money too, no different. No, you’re even more despicable.

“Ah, you’re here.”
“…”
Opening the door, Dana saw her room in chaos again. Another broken mirror, vase, torn curtains, and furniture scattered around. Vulgar curses echoed in her head. And her anger boiled over. Why the hell is he doing this in my room? He is seriously a f*cking b*stard.
“What are you doing now?”
“Ah, sorry. I dirtied your bed again.” Ignis was lying around on Dana’s bed again.
“What exactly are you doing in my room?”
“What do you think? Taking a nap. Smoking. Since I’m bored, I’m indulging in my hobbies.” With that, Ignis grinned mischievously. “But do you know what my hobby is?”
It’s better not to ask.
“Didn’t you talk to Brother Viego about the marriage?”
“Yeah. I bet you thought I showed him the marriage proposal, right?” Ignis chuckled. “I only did that to tease you. And you fell for it, like an idiot.”
“…”
“Your expression back in the meeting room was really something to see.”
What was so funny about that? Ignis burst out laughing, clutching his stomach.
“So, what are you going to do? Marry me?”
“It hasn’t even been a week yet.”
Of course, Dana could reveal the fake scripture right now. But she intended to torment Viego a little longer. When that sensitive man had withered away from stress, that’s when she would offer him a helping hand.
“But I’m rather impatient, you see.” Ignis half-raised himself from the bed and looked up and down at her, then smiled with satisfaction. “Did you know? I dreamed about you last night.”
“I’m not curious.”
“Don’t be so prickly. You’re going to marry me anyway.” Ignis spoke in the most insolent manner possible before lying back down on the bed. Then he patted the spot beside him. “Come here.”
“…”
“I’ll tell you what I dreamed about, Baby.”
Really, he was the epitome of vulgarity, debauchery, and lowliness. A man who truly lived up to the nickname of a scoundrel.
“But do you know something?”
Although Dana disliked Ignis, she couldn’t say she had no use for him. Thanks to him, she had driven Viego into a corner. He had given her the chance to become Viego’s savior.
“I’m still the crown prince’s fiancée.”
Perhaps she could expect him to play another role as well.
“I’ve asked him to annul our engagement several times, but he dismissed my request every time.”
“Really?” Ignis’s eyes darkened, seemingly surprised by that statement. “I heard the crown prince is completely smitten with Allice Windsor.”
“That’s true.” Dana gave a bitter smile.
It was an undeniable fact that Raios was head over heels for Allice. He was so considerate of Allice that hadn’t he even arranged opportunities for Allice to spend time with his friends?
Not long ago, when she had gone to the hunting grounds to confront Raios, Dana had seen Allice talking with Raios’s close friends. It was a scene she had never even dreamed of experiencing herself. Since he shows her the consideration he never showed me, I suppose that means he loves her that much.
Yet, Raios wouldn’t annul their engagement. There was only one reason. It was the same reason why Huan approached her, why Ignis proposed to her, and why Carl wanted to kill her.
Tiresome men.
Because of the inheritance. They were after her wealth, her vault.
“So, Lord Ignis, please talk to him.”
“…Me?” Ignis seemed somewhat reluctant.
Dana had thought Ignis was a reckless rascal who feared nothing, but perhaps he wasn’t completely stupid after all. Apparently, he knew enough to be afraid of the crown prince. That was amusing.
“Why? Are you scared?”
“…”
Dana wore a lingering, mocking smile. Men like Ignis always seemed weak to this kind of provocation. If she touched their masculinity, they would flare up and lose their reason.
“Are you really that afraid of the crown prince?”
Sure enough, a fire suddenly ignited in Ignis’s eyes. He glared fiercely at Dana before answering. “Yeah.”
“…”
“Is there any man who isn’t afraid of Raios Geranze?”
Dana had expected him to put on a show of bravado out of pride, so it was surprising that he admitted it so readily.
“Well, still… I’m not sure. It’s certain that he’s currently infatuated with Allice Windsor, not you.” Ignis looked up at the ceiling, thinking. “I suppose I could at least try negotiating.”
