Resurrection Chapter 104 - Hyung, Get a Grip

His thigh entered deep between my legs. Because the height difference between us had grown, my toes were practically lifted off the ground. In my haste, I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and arms, clinging to him. Heesoo hyung, who was crushing me in his embrace like that, buried his head in the nape of my neck and said.

“I’m sorry.”

The sudden apology was strange. I asked back, puzzled.

“What are you sorry for…”

My question wasn’t finished. It was because his lips devoured the nape of my neck. As if he had become a vampire like Min Gongchan, he bared his teeth and bit down painfully. The spot where the bruise had pooled flared up, and a shiver ran through my entire body.

“Ah!”

I screamed and shuddered, but Heesoo hyung’s body, holding me tight, didn’t budge. It was so hot and hard, it felt like it had been dipped in and pulled out of molten iron. He pressed my crotch painfully with his rock-hard thigh, crushing me in his arms.

“Agh!”

Trapped in his arms, I squirmed and realized why he had apologized. It was a preemptive apology and a warning.

I should have gotten angry and pushed him away, but I couldn’t. My strength and will were far too lacking to push Heesoo hyung away; struggling would only result in me hitting the back of my head against the tree.

“Ugh…!”

Heesoo hyung didn’t let go until I lost the will to resist and became docile. When he finally lifted his head, the mark Min Gongchan had left was completely gone. I didn’t have to look in a mirror to know that Heesoo hyung’s mark had covered that spot.

My face flushed red with an unknown excitement and shame, I glared at Heesoo hyung, who was still holding my waist. Heesoo hyung’s steady gaze was deep. Satisfaction and craving were tangled in his eyes, making it impossible to see the emotions that lay beyond. That was so upsetting and confusing that I asked, almost in tears.

“Why on earth are you doing this…?”

At my inquiry, a familiar emotion finally surfaced on his expression. He dropped his face, which was suffused with guilt and a sense of sin, and said.

“I’m… sorry.”

“I wasn’t asking you to apologize. I’m really asking, why are you doing this?”

Heesoo hyung answered honestly. That honesty wasn’t much of a comfort.

“Because I can’t stand other people touching you, Mr. Yitae.”

“Was it that bothersome that Min Gongchan latched onto me and drank my blood?”

Heesoo hyung sighed.

“You’re wrong again.”

“About what!”

“I said that I can’t stand him reaching your heart, Mr. Yitae.”

At the unexpected words, my eyes shook uncontrollably. Heesoo hyung, holding me steady, looked terribly unfamiliar. At the same time, Min Gongchan’s warning rang in my ears. His words that Heesoo hyung would go crazy over me and destroy the world echoed in my ears. Amidst all that, there was only one thing I could do.

I pushed him with all my might. Heesoo hyung let go of me obediently, and I bit my lip hard before letting go and saying.

“Hyung, get a grip.”

Chapter 19. I Haven’t Said Anything Yet
Yoon Younghyun dragged Min Gongchan to the tent where Team A was staying to prevent him from causing any more trouble. When he flung open the tent entrance, Team A, who had been sitting around shooting the breeze, turned their gazes to them. Yoon Younghyun, practically shoving Min Gongchan, said.

“Someone spray some potion on him.”

Kim Mina, who had been sitting and munching on chocolate, tilted her head.

“Why a potion?”

“Can’t you tell by looking? This guy’s face is…!”

…a mess, was what Yoon Younghyun was about to say, but he faltered. His face had definitely been a mess from trading blows with Seo Heesoo, but in the time it took to get to the tent, his wounds had completely healed. Yoon Younghyun, who had frozen in surprise, realized that this too was one of a vampire’s powers.

It was a good thing since they didn’t have to waste a precious potion, but it was a bit creepy. He seemed to have replenished his blood at the infirmary, and Yoon Younghyun couldn’t guess how strong this guy would become if he started drinking blood in earnest.

Ignoring Yoon Younghyun’s stunned reaction, Min Gongchan stared at him intently. Then he turned his head and scanned Team A inside the tent.

Team A, who had come to the Iicheong Training Center at Kim Yitae’s and Seo Heesoo’s call, hadn’t done anything particularly noteworthy. But before Yaksha used his self-destruct move, they had evacuated the people inside the building. Thanks to that, despite the chaos, there wasn’t a single fatality.

Min Gongchan looked over their faces and, as if having made up his mind, said to Yoon Younghyun.

“I’d like to formally make a request to Team A.”

Yoon Younghyun frowned from the start.

“What? Again?”

Last time, he had taken on the job of assassinating Seo Heesoo, only to not get the final payment and earn Kim Yitae’s dislike. He had been subjected to something like a betrayal with a surprise attack from Min Gongchan, so naturally, he had no desire to take another request. But because of what he had received from him at the otherworld store, it was also difficult to refuse flatly.

Seeing the hesitant Yoon Younghyun, Min Gongchan said.

“Yoon Younghyun, you take Team A and take over the half-destroyed Clan Council.”

Yoon Younghyun, who had been reluctant, paused at Min Gongchan’s words. The other Team A members who had been doing other things also became quiet as mice. With all their attention focused on him, Min Gongchan continued.

“There must be lingering effects from when I attacked the Clan Council last time. Some probably died while transforming into werewolves, so many clans will be in disarray without a central figure. Take this opportunity, Yoon Younghyun, and you unite the clans and become the werewolf monarch. Don’t stop there; make all the lycanthropes kneel at your feet.”

Yoon Younghyun had a dumbfounded expression. Only after Kim Mina nudged him with her elbow to snap him out of it did he stammer and open his mouth.

“W-wait. Hold on. Is that a request right now?”

“Yes. I’ll give you an advance to arm your team members, and you get to work on it right away. With you now capable of complete transformation, it’s something you can definitely do, so don’t say you can’t.”

“W-what’s the reason for making such a request? What will you, a vampire, do by taking over the lycanthropes?”

“You’re the one taking over, not me.”

“You said you’re making a request to me. Then it’s the same as you taking over.”

Min Gongchan frowned and spat out his words as if to say, do I have to explain even this?

“If you become the monarch of the lycans, even I won’t be able to do anything to you easily. You seem to be misunderstanding because of the word ‘request,’ so fine, let’s call it an investment instead.”

“An investment?”

“I want you to unite the scattered lycanthropes and prepare for the coming apocalypse. Your power will be needed when the right time comes.”

“…You’re being serious, aren’t you?”

“I don’t joke around.”

Yoon Younghyun was surprised to realize that what Min Gongchan was saying had a great deal of credibility. When he had undergone a complete transformation to fight Yaksha, his abilities had temporarily surpassed the limits of his level. He didn’t know for sure, but at that level, it didn’t seem entirely far-fetched to unite the weakened werewolf clans.

Since the werewolves had the most powerful force among the lycanthropes, once the werewolves were brought to their knees, it would be a smooth ride. Unlike the vampires, the werewolves had no hierarchy, so there was no one who could be called a monarch, but just because there hadn’t been one until now didn’t mean there couldn’t be one in the future.

Feeling a brief thrill, Yoon Younghyun recalled that Min Gongchan was the young master of the Oleander Guild, the largest pleasure district in South Korea. If such a person also became the vampire monarch, he would be grasping enormous power. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he would become the ruler behind the scenes.

When that time came, to keep Min Gongchan in check, it was clear that the Special Task Force, already busy dealing with Monster Breaks as he had said, would have a tough time alone. A force comparable to the vampires, that is, the lycanthropes, needed to rally together.

Min Gongchan said that it was necessary to prepare for the apocalypse, but to Yoon Younghyun, the presence of Min Gongchan right in front of him, who had become a Royal Vampire, felt more ominous than the vague destruction of the world. He needed power, if only to prepare against him, so Yoon Younghyun nodded his head.

“Alright, I accept your proposal.”

Min Gongchan nodded back and took something out of his dimension pocket. It was a small notebook. In a world where paper and pens were rarely used, the palm-sized notebook looked very out of place. When Yoon Younghyun opened it, he saw that the locations and times when the otherworld store appeared were written in dense handwriting.

“If possible, memorize this and then destroy it.”

Yoon Younghyun paused at those words. As a member of the new generation who could count the number of phone numbers he had memorized on one hand, he was terrible at memorization. Ignoring Yoon Younghyun’s frowning, Min Gongchan said something absurd.

“That notebook is the investment I’m giving you.”

“Hey, whoa. It’s very generous of you to give me the records of the otherworld store, but I need to have the funds to buy anything there. As you know, our raid party…”

“Don’t worry. The orichalcum mine is going to hit the jackpot soon.”

At Min Gongchan’s words, Yoon Younghyun’s jaw dropped. The faces of the Team A members, who had all stood up at some point, also brightened up. Yoon Younghyun, looking overjoyed, asked Min Gongchan again.

“Really? The mine’s going to hit the jackpot? What about the griffin?”

“The griffin, sensing the Monster Break, will leave its nest. With the expectation that orichalcum mining can begin, the stocks of mining companies will skyrocket. If you just sell those at the right time, you won’t have to worry about funds.”

Yoon Younghyun let out a cheer and boasted loudly to Kim Mina. Kim Mina didn’t seem to like Yoon Younghyun’s showing off, but her expression was as bright as the other team members. They stomped their feet and howled, overjoyed.

“If we hit the jackpot, we can eat real meat instead of synthetic meat, right?”

“I’m so sick of soy protein!”

“Beef! Let’s eat beef!”

“Let’s go to a farm for a beef company dinner!”
