As a result of kicking the blankets all night with my eyes wide open, unable to sleep.

It’d be a lie to say I didn’t wonder if everyone else lives this hard, but through great effort, I came to terms with my life.

I accepted the shitty future handed to me by being possessed into a modern dark fantasy novel and started taking the next steps.

The next step was setting goals.

The first goal that came to mind was clear.

  1. Avoid world destruction!

To be honest, I don’t even need to actively avoid it. Since I’m the main culprit behind the world’s destruction, if I just live quietly, the world won’t end. When you think about it, this body is the most talented person in the academy, capable of wiping out everyone except the protagonist, so I could probably just rely on that and live comfortably.

Of course, the problem is that there are other world-destruction wannabes besides me, but they don’t have the same firepower as this body.

The world will be protected by the “conquerors.”

‘I’ll just play the empty-headed asshole.’

Second,

  1. Protect my life of wealth and glory!

Since this body is a young master from a noble family, it’s only natural that riches and treasures come with the territory.

And the grand third goal.

  1. Don’t let anyone find out I’m not ‘Cassis de Millan’!

…Somehow, the third goal feels more important than the others, which makes me question my intelligence.

Let’s just say it’s because I’m not used to this new body.

This one’s a bit tricky. This guy, who pretends to be the protagonist’s rival before dramatically revealing himself as the final villain, is a hypocritical bastard who walks around with a dazzling smile and is the ultimate trash-talker—so much so that he’s called an asshole without a shred of exaggeration. The problem is whether I can convincingly mimic that personality.

But if I fail to pull it off, the noble ‘de Millan’ family will try to slaughter me for impersonating their precious heir. From what I read in the book, the de Millan family is more than capable of that.

If they don’t dissect me alive, I’d be lucky.

‘Ugh, horrifying. Inhumane and outdated. Ughhh.’

Let’s stop thinking negative thoughts. If I try hard, I can catch up to that kind of personality. Let’s think positively.

Otherwise, my skin will get ruined.

So, what should my fourth goal be?

  1. Spend a hot night with the protagonist?

‘Oh.’

In my opinion, this was a pretty solid goal.

‘….’

…Wait, I don’t know why, but I feel like I need to clarify that I’m not hopeless, but I can’t find any evidence to back that up, so I’ll drop it. But I’m not hopeless. Hopeless? Don’t you dare use that shameful word in front of me…

But think about it. If you were Pygmalion, gifted by the gods with your perfect ideal type, would you sculpt a statue in search of that ideal only to have the gods bless you with a miracle, turning your creation into a living person?

If you were Pygmalion, would you “do the deed” with Galatea, or not?

The answer is obvious. Why even ask? Of course you’d do it.

In short, for me, Galatea was the protagonist of this novel.

He was so perfectly my type that I wanted to lament why he only existed in a novel.

—The protagonist’s name is Ryuseong.

I don’t know why even his name is so damn cool. For reference, the novel is set in Korea.

There’s a bit of national pride mixed in, with the setting that pure energy flows only through the land of the Korean Peninsula. So, in the 21st century, young elites from around the world scramble to earn a degree from Korea’s academy.

My body is a mix of Korean and Western nobility, but since my direct lineage uses Western names, this body is ‘Cassis de Millan.’

‘And the main setting of the story is here.’

Areum Academy.

This is the most prestigious of the three academies in Korea. Here, Ryuseong dominates every field with overwhelming skill. The sight of such a noble man suffering, despairing, and struggling was so perfectly my type.

Yes, I was trash.

The fact that this world had healers was just fucking awesome. No matter what happened in a fight with an enemy, everything could be regenerated. I wanted to buy the person who recommended this novel on an online forum a meal.

I thought all web novels were light and fluffy, but this hardcore dark fantasy that relentlessly tormented the protagonist was something else.

‘So fucking thrilling.’

Just thinking about the character’s background made me greedy—it was that kind of setup. Even though this body had been chaste for 20 years and had just become an adult, I couldn’t help it.

‘I’ve got to make a move.’

In this world, you become an adult at 20. The ideal age for academy admission is also 20.

Judging by the brand-new, unworn uniform hanging on the wall, I must have been possessed just before entering the academy—divine intervention telling me to seduce the protagonist.

So, I finally got out of bed, where I’d been furiously kicking the blankets.

I wanted to see just how stunningly handsome ‘Cassis de Millan,’ described as the world’s most beautiful person in the novel, really was.

And when I looked in the mirror, I was reasonably satisfied.

‘It’s similar to my old self.’

Maybe a bit prettier than before. What’s the point of a guy being pretty?

I’m taller now, but my old body’s frame and muscles were superior, so this slender build is a bit disappointing. Still, the face is undeniably striking. It’s not my type—bold lines and thick eyebrows for a masculine look—but still.

‘Maybe it’s because I know he’s the villain, but he looks suspicious.’

How should I put it? Suspicious. Or maybe meaningful. Even when he smiles with his eyes crinkled, the crescent-shaped purple eyes gleam vividly through silver lashes, creating an eerie vibe. It’s definitely a face that screams “peach blossom” in fortune-telling.

The glossy silver hair, the impossibly pale skin, the mystically lush white lashes…

A cold, shadowy, yin-energy-filled man.

Yeah, he looks a lot like my old self.

‘…Was I a bit shameless?’

To clarify, the vibe was similar to my old self. It hurts my pride, but this guy feels like an upgraded version of my old face.

It’s like I got forcibly upgraded.

‘Even a random Windows update pisses me off, so why this guy?’

Transforming my appearance without my consent—what the hell.

Fuck, I’m pissed, but the sun was rising.

Knock, knock.

“Young master, it’s time to prepare for your admission.”

The adult of this new world had to get ready for the academy.

So, as someone who now had to live as ‘Cassis de Millan,’ I drawled lazily in a captivating voice.

“Who dares to call me young master, butler?”

Being rude to someone older than me felt awkward, but since ‘Cassis de Millan’ was a polite character, I was saved.

A moment later, an apology came.

“…My apologies, young lord. It was a momentary lapse.”

Still, ‘Cassis de Millan’ would just smile and not accept it.

“Well, I hope that lapse was indeed momentary.”

Then, thud. The sound of someone kneeling came from outside the door.

“Please punish my transgression.”

Unexpectedly, I realized that ‘Cassis de Millan’s’ asshole life…

‘Wait, is this my calling?’

It suited me perfectly. It’s a shame to admit, but the average personality of the final villain in this world was a lot like mine.
