“Eung… Ueung….”

“Heok… Heot….”

Inside a room with transparent walls, an alpha and an omega, tangled up together, were breathing out hot breaths. The lovemaking, which had been going on for a long time, showed no signs of ending as they continued to explore each other’s bodies. Even though well-dressed people were watching their lovemaking from outside the transparent wall, the alpha and the omega shamelessly continued to thrust their hips.

“Hmm… The state of the product… doesn’t seem as good as I thought… Why is he so weak?”

As the man with the exact same face as the alpha tumbling inside the room, Adrian, stroked his chin and spoke, a researcher in a white gown scratched his head and answered.

“Actually, it’s because… his rut cycle started yesterday….”

Adrian’s brow furrowed mercilessly.

“Does that mean they’ve been at it for over a day already… No wonder… I definitely said I was coming to see them today. How did an error like this occur?”

“About twelve hours is within the margin of error… It is not a defective product.”

Slap!

In that instant, the researcher’s head whipped to the side. As if some dirty germ had gotten on the gloves he was wearing, Adrian took them off, put on a new pair, and spoke to him with a fierce expression.

“Jace Miller. I’m quite sure I didn’t create this research institute for you to make excuses like that.”

“I’m sorry… sir.”

“Dispose of those and I’ll be back next month, so have new ones made.”

“Next… month? But you have to give us at least half a year….”

“Half a year… haha… Did you think I wouldn’t know that I had several other substitutes made besides those, Dr. Miller?”

“……”

“If you don’t want to see this institute shut down, take one of them… wrap it up nicely and bring it to me again.”

“Yes….”

As Adrian left with a grin, Jace caressed his stinging cheek and bit his lip. The alpha and omega in the room were still panting, delirious with heat. Jace, who was watching them, let out a deep sigh and pressed the intercom, opening his lips that would not part easily.

“Dispose of both AE98 and OE98.”

As soon as Jace’s words fell, white smoke filled the room. Jace, who had been standing with his eyes closed for a long time, opened his eyes, and inside the room from which the smoke had cleared, there was no one.

The year 2054.

Belying the phrase ‘the lord of all creation,’ the rapidly decreasing population of humanity could no longer even be certain of its own survival. Humanity, once so numerous on Earth that they were difficult to manage, had now become an ‘endangered species.’

The great earthquake of 2030 swallowed all but one of Earth’s six continents into the sea. The surviving humans tried to somehow restore their collapsed foundations of life, but with the continuous outbreak of viruses, humanity eventually disappeared, leaving only 5% behind.

The humans who survived under these harsh conditions lost their ‘ability to reproduce.’ The survivors, who found it difficult enough just to protect their own bodies, reduced unnecessary energy consumption by weakening their own reproductive abilities. Thanks to this, the speed of aging slowed down remarkably. Most survivors maintained an appearance similar to how they looked at the time of the great earthquake, even though 24 years had passed.

Lifespans increased, but they could no longer reproduce.

The upper class who survived in this reality felt a sense of crisis. After all, didn’t the class system of humanity only show its true value when the population was large? No matter how much they clamored about being the upper class within such a small population, they were all more or less the same. They needed a larger population to revere them.

So, the upper class invested a vast amount of capital to create substitutes for humanity that had reproductive abilities. Once life becomes stable, any kind of animal will want descendants to carry on its blood. Humanity had lost its ability to reproduce, but the desire to reproduce still remained, and they went to great lengths to create offspring. This was the same for the members of the upper class.

When the desire to reproduce combined with the ever-dwindling population, the members of the upper class proposed a new method of reproduction. It was to utilize the anomalies of humanity created by the virus, alphas and omegas. Of course, there was the problem that alphas and omegas only existed in male form, but since they were a species with a higher reproductive capacity than ordinary humans like themselves, gender was not a major issue.

A research institute that creates alphas and omegas who look exactly like oneself by combining their genes with one’s own. That was the PersoCorporation Lab, where Jace Miller was the head.

Alphas and omegas originally possessed the same intelligence as ordinary humans, but such high intelligence was not necessary for the substitutes. Maximize the physical abilities of the alphas and omegas, including their reproductive capabilities, and lower their other intellectual abilities. Those were the specifications for the reproductive dolls that the upper class desired.

Alphas and omegas, who were mutants caused by the virus, mostly died, unable to overcome the changed physiology of their mutated bodies. However, before their deaths, due to periodic heat cycles, they conceived life, and the people who witnessed its birth were aghast.

But they soon thought. If we can reproduce even like that, might humanity be able to avoid extinction? However, the mutant traits were not inherited. The children they gave birth to also failed to adapt to the environment and died quickly. For that reason, PersoCorporation, which had exclusively obtained the genes of the last remaining alphas and omegas, was able to stand at the forefront of this business.

A child born to a pair of an alpha and an omega, created in one’s own image, could step out into the world with confidence, having inherited only one’s own genes. It was a business that would never fail as long as the desire to reproduce existed.

Jace Miller was the most brilliant of geniuses, leading all the research conducted at that PersoCorporation.

“Dad!”

“Joy!”

Jace’s eyes curved into thin crescents. The child named ‘Joy’ running toward him was the only omega in this research institute who had a name. The omega clone of his fiancée, Joy Green, whose initial gene cloning had failed.

He created an omega by cloning the genes of Joy, who had been a survivor but was congenitally weak and could not last long. Perhaps because the original body was weak, the cloning was not easy. After repeated failures, he was finally able to create a proper omega after 10 years.

OE01. That was Joy’s number.

The number of the very first omega he had made. It had died in less than 3 minutes after its creation, but Jace, unable to discard that number, bestowed it upon this child named ‘Joy’ who was smiling before his very eyes.

“Dad!”

Jace’s gaze became endlessly gentle as he looked at Joy, who was calling him ‘Dad’ with a bright smile. All the alphas and omegas here called Jace ‘Dad.’ It was the researchers’ idea that if they instilled the concept of ‘family,’ even for a brief moment, in those born from cold test tubes, they would possess a more submissive disposition when they were ‘delivered’ to their ‘masters.’

Perhaps they themselves, lacking the ability to reproduce, were also finding vicarious satisfaction by watching the alphas and omegas. And so, the male researchers became ‘Dads’ and the female researchers became ‘Moms,’ becoming the family for the alphas and omegas who did not know when they would be sold off or disposed of.

Just as the afterimage of AE98 and OE98, whom he had just ordered to be disposed of, flashed through Jace’s mind as he stroked Joy’s hair, Joy asked.

“Dad. Where did AE98 hyung and OE98 hyung go?”

“…Joy.”

“Lizzy-momma said today was an important day. So we had to review what we’ve learned… AE98 hyung was having a bit of a hard time since last night….”

“…Mr. Pers took them.”

At Jace’s words, Joy broke into a huge smile.

“Really? That’s a relief. I think it’s really fortunate that AE98 hyung and OE98 hyung received Mr. Pers’s genes.”

“Why is that?”

“Um… because he’s the highest-ranking person?”

Jace smiled faintly as he stroked the hair of Joy, who was speaking with an innocent smile. His physical age is twenty. But his mental age is only around ten. Like the other alphas and omegas here, Joy’s intellectual ability was not very high.

However, Jace, without anyone knowing, was providing only Joy with an ‘education.’ Not the reproductive education for alphas and omegas, but an education in the true sense.

Jace taught Joy how to read and had him read books, reminiscing about his fiancée Joy, with whom he had spent nights together in the lab in the old days.

“Joy… What did you do today?”

At Jace’s words, Joy hummed… and rolled his eyes before answering.

“Reproduction theory…?”

“Reproduction theory….”

“And… practical training?”

“Practical training?”

The alphas and omegas here all have the exact same face. It was a natural result, as they were an alpha and an omega created from a single person’s genes. Jace felt strange whenever he saw an alpha and an omega with the same face, panting as they pressed their bodies together.

He had no intention of blaming them, as it was a noble hobby of the narcissistic upper class, but he just couldn’t understand if they wanted to protect what was theirs to the point of becoming hermaphrodites, going beyond self-replication.

‘Joy,’ modeled after his fiancée Joy, was one of a kind. He was not a product made to order. He was an omega solely for him. For that reason, Joy did not have an alpha with the same face. But… he had practical training?

“With whom…?”

Jace’s brow furrowed. Jace extremely disliked Joy being touched by others.

“With AE70 hyung….”

“What about OE70?”

“He suddenly went into heat….”

Joy answered, his face blushing. The ‘reproduction education’ at the institute was only conducted during normal times. Since the alphas and omegas, products made to be good at ‘reproducing’ according to the client’s orders, would enter into reproduction regardless of the client’s wishes if they were together when a heat cycle or rut cycle occurred, they had to be separated without fail.

Jace sighed and, taking Joy’s hand, headed for his room.

It was forbidden for a product to enter a researcher’s room. But Joy was different. Jace had received permission for personal research using Joy as a subject, for the sole reason that he was an early model. It was judged not to be a problem, as he was not a custom-ordered product to begin with, but a research subject for quality improvement.

Jace’s neatly organized room smelled of lavender. At first, he did not know what that scent was, but every time Joy entered Jace’s room, his body would grow so hot from the scent that he felt his mind going hazy.

When Joy, breathing heavily, said that the room smelled so good, Jace smiled brightly and told him that the scent was lavender, and that Joy was imprinted in his genes to be unable to resist liking this scent.
