For several days straight, trailer filming continued without a break.
To keep the film’s release date from getting pushed back too far, everyone had to blast through a massive number of cuts each day.
Today’s schedule involved filming scenes of Tak Yeowon dragging around zombie Jeong Haeseon.
From the distance, Do Changhyeon approached in full zombie makeup, lurching and staggering in perfect zombie fashion.
Staff members laughed at the sight, each snapping photos.
The makeup team rushed over and fitted a gag into Do Changhyeon’s mouth.
“You have to keep this in all day, right?”
“Yes.”
“Oof, your mouth’s going to hurt…”
I watched Do Changhyeon with the gag worriedly.
Do Changhyeon grinned as if to say he was fine and gave a thumbs-up.
The makeup team then attached a leash around his neck.
They handed me the leash connected to the collar.
This was genuinely the most bizarre experience of my entire life.
“Let’s go.”
“Uurrgh.”
I dragged Do Changhyeon along toward the camera.
The director and assistant director had been rubbing their tired faces but suddenly burst out laughing.
“Wow, this is even funnier than I expected.”
“Nobody’s going to believe this is a real trailer.”
“Who cares. People are going to love this, right?”
“True.”
“All right, let’s get started!”
* * *
Inside the set.
I tied Do Changhyeon to a corner of the small room and sat across from him, tearing open expired bread and chewing away.
Do Changhyeon kept making grotesque sounds through the gag, lunging at me repeatedly.
But the sturdy leash restrained him.
Do Changhyeon thrust his arm toward me.
Blood oozed from his hand, made up to look necrotic.
The blood splattered across my face as I munched on bread.
“Ugh, ruining my meal.”
I stood up and casually broke Do Changhyeon’s joint.
Do Changhyeon collapsed with a thud.
Even sprawled on the ground, he struggled desperately to lunge at me.
“Can’t even kill him outright, that thing.”
I sat back down, picked off the blood-stained piece of bread, and took another bite.
But then.
The locked door burst open with a bang, and zombies came flooding in like a tidal wave.
I quickly pulled a taser from my bag.
Then fired at the zombies.
The zombies made eerie sounds as they dropped one by one.
I grabbed a pipe standing in the corner and swung mercilessly at the zombies.
Once all the zombies in the room had fallen, I immediately headed toward Do Changhyeon.
I untied his leash and moved toward the door.
When Do Changhyeon thrashed, I slapped him without hesitation.
“Urgh, errgh…”
I dragged the dazed Do Changhyeon outside.
* * *
The next cut took place outdoors.
On the main road, I released Do Changhyeon in front of a person lying dead with their entrails spilled.
Do Changhyeon caught the scent of blood and went wild, then charged forward.
He buried his face in the entrails and started devouring them.
The sound team would probably record even more horrific sounds to overlay later.
Even though everything was fake, I couldn’t help but grimace.
This was a moment that required no acting.
Once he’d eaten his fill, I approached from behind and fitted the gag back in his mouth.
Having satisfied his hunger, Do Changhyeon became somewhat docile.
“Let’s go.”
Do Changhyeon trotted ahead like a puppy on a leash.
“Not that way.”
I tugged the leash to change direction.
Do Changhyeon obediently changed course and walked.
“Cut! Okay!!”
The moment the director called okay, laughter erupted everywhere.
The makeup team rushed over to remove Do Changhyeon’s gag and slathered lip balm on his lips.
I also dropped the leash and hurried over.
“Changhyeon, you okay? Did it hurt?”
“I’m fine! This is actually kind of fun, you know?”
Do Changhyeon beamed.
Instead, I was the one shuddering.
“Ugh… not for me.”

The next day.
This time, it was my turn to become a zombie.
While getting my makeup done, I watched myself transform into a zombie in real-time through the mirror with horror.
The makeup team left a bullet wound in the center of my forehead.
Sticky blood oozed from that wound.
“Eugh.”
The contact lenses I wore to become a zombie made my eyes sting.
“This is no joke.”
I started snapping selfies, newly appreciating the struggles of extra actors.
Got to send these to Mom and Dad.
They’re going to freak out, right?
“Hehe.”
I let out a stupid laugh by myself.
“All right, makeup’s done.”
After a full three hours of makeup, I finally stretched luxuriously.
“Great work. Go attack some humans to your heart’s content.”
“Go forth, Tak Yeowon!”
The makeup team called out proudly.
“I’ll be back!”
I shouted spiritedly and stood up.
Hehe, today I’d be filming a reverse chase scene that would never happen again in my lifetime.
I’d be running all day again today…
But unlike before, this time I’d be the one doing the chasing.
This is going to be fun.
I slowly started warming up and stretching.
* * *
“Ready, action!”
Inside a decrepit building.
I tilted my head to one side in front of the camera and started running.
“Ahhh, run!!”
“Over there, a zombie!”
The moment the survivors including Jeong Haeseon spotted me, they started fleeing like mad.
I chased right on their heels, listening to their screams.
The faster I ran, the more momentum I gained.
Man, youth feels good.
Savoring the adrenaline rush I hadn’t felt in ages, I sprinted forward.
As I rounded a corner, my body tilted slightly sideways.
I slid and took a small tumble.
Without stopping, I immediately leaped back up and charged ahead like crazy again.
The survivors who’d glanced back to check on me couldn’t even scream—their faces went deathly pale as they fled toward the exit.
But then.
“H-hold on! Cut!”
“Whoa.”
The moment I heard cut, I skidded to a stop.
My body tilted sharply and I almost fell, barely catching myself against the wall.
The survivor actors in the distance immediately collapsed to the ground the moment they heard cut.
I looked at the director with a confused expression.
“Sena-ssi! You’re too fast!”
“Ah…! Sorry.”
The cinematography staff member who’d been trying to track focus was drenched in sweat.
“Wow, completely lost focus. I’ve never had this happen before.”
Several actors playing survivors also shouted at me.
“Wow, I seriously thought my heart was going to stop!”
“Did you see that monster slide? Is she insane? That was terrifying.”
“Sena-ssi, what’s your hundred-meter time?”
“Huh? I’ve never timed it…”
“I ran for my life. Literally thought I was going to die.”
“Sorry. I’ll run more moderately…”
I scratched the back of my head, having just discovered my own running speed.
“All right, let’s go again!”
“Yes!”
Run moderately, moderately.
I stood before the camera again, chanting this strange mantra.

After all the trailer filming wrapped up.
With my heart pounding, I headed to another set while waiting for the trailer edits.
It was a <Morning Dew> CF shoot—my first in quite a while.
<Morning Dew> had decided to launch fruit-flavored soju and requested a new CF.
Standing on set looking at the blueberry and grapefruit-flavored soju bottles, I was struck anew by the fact that I’d returned to the past.
There’d been a time when soju companies all rushed to release fruit-flavored varieties in competition, making them wildly popular.
I wasn’t much for sweets, so even in my past life I hadn’t drunk fruit soju often…
After finishing rehearsal and preparing to start filming, some <Morning Dew> staff I hadn’t seen in a while approached and asked casually.
“Sena-ssi, want to try a drink?”
“Huh?”
“You’re our model, after all. You should be the first to taste it.”
Oh.
The director preparing to film also readily gave the okay.
“Sena-ssi, do you have any more schedules after this?”
“No, this is my last one…”
“Then give it a try. The alcohol content’s low, so it’s fine.”
“Oh…?”
Should I?
And so the CF shoot began with me sipping actual soju poured for me.
In front of the camera, I drank the sweet soju and wrinkled my nose slightly.
“Refreshing.”
I took sips from various angles while smiling at the camera.
The shoot progressed smoothly as I changed into coordinated outfits matching the grapefruit and blueberry colors.
During filming, I wore natural makeup with blush heavily emphasized on both cheeks.
Unlike the existing ads, this concept emphasized cuteness.
“Ah, it really is delicious.”
I said while holding the soju glass close to my cheek.
“Cut! Okay! So pretty.”
The moment okay was called, I laughed awkwardly.
After spewing harsh curses on the <Deadline> set and fighting like crazy, suddenly doing cute gestures felt awkward even to me.
Having been surrounded by splattering blood and sliced flesh, standing under bright lights felt like a completely different world.
Feeling embarrassed, I walked over to the director monitoring.
The director and staff watched the footage with admiration.
“It came out so fresh.”
“When you smile, I can practically smell the grapefruit.”
“Sena-ssi, you look like you’ve lost more weight. You were already thin. Taking care of your health, right?”
One staff member looked at me worriedly.
“Ah, yes. I lost a bit of weight filming my next project.”
I’d actually lost over three kilograms after filming <Deadline> without even trying.
Then one of the staff asked.
“Oh, that one, right? <Deadline>! Is filming done?”
“Yes, it’s done.”
“I’ve been waiting for that so much.”
“Ah, really? Thank you.”
Then the director and several staff members looked at me with puzzled expressions.
“<Deadline>? What’s that?”
“It’s my next project.”
“Oh, has there been an article already?”
“Yes. It got promoted on the variety show I appeared on too.”
As I explained to the director, I realized anew that promotion was still lacking.
“Our trailer’s coming out soon too! Please look forward to it.”
“Huh? It’s not even a movie but there’s a trailer?”
The staff tilted their heads at my words.
“It’s not just any trailer.”
I said that and chuckled.
“Oh, I don’t know what it is but now I’m curious?”
“I’ll definitely watch!”
“Make it a huge hit!”
The staff each tossed out words of encouragement.

And finally, the long-awaited day arrived.
I sat on my living room sofa and checked the time.
11:59 PM.
In one minute, the trailers would be uploaded to iTube.
I stared at the clock, and the moment exactly one minute passed, I logged onto iTube.
iTube began flooding out trailers.
