Jiwoo was rolling her eyes around in panic when it happened.

Kangwoo gently kissed her hair.

“Jiwoo, right now my condition is unstable.”

“…Sorry?”

“I used a lot of strength to come to you. So when my emotions get stirred up, it’s hard to control my abilities.”

Kangwoo lowered his neat eyebrows and leaned toward her.

He acted like a sad puppy, but the arms hugging Jiwoo were as solid as stone.

“There are injuries all over my body, and I’m in a lot of pain… but if you turn away from me on top of that…”

Moisture slowly gathered in those brilliant eyes.

And Kangwoo’s face, gradually twisting with sadness, had devastating power.

Even though she hadn’t actually done anything wrong, Jiwoo’s guilt shot up at the sight of those tears.

The moment those national-treasure-level tears hit the ground, she felt she’d commit an unforgivable sin.

“N-no! There’s no one! There’s no other man or anything like that! Of course not!”

Then Kangwoo smiled softly and hugged her tightly.

Rubbing his prominent nose against her shoulder, he murmured lazily,

“Right? Jiwoo would never abandon me.”

Ah…

Jiwoo let out a sigh.

At this rate, she felt like she was going to be completely hooked by this man.

Her biggest problem was that she lost all reason whenever she saw something beautiful or handsome.

But what could she do? It was simply her instinct as a human.

With a face that didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, Jiwoo made up her mind again.

‘Still, I can’t give up!’

She had to get out of the dungeon safely to get back to her little sister!

Jiwoo began persuading again, slowly.

“Um, Kangwoo. But we still can’t get married. Marriage is something between a man and woman who love each other—”

“Mm. I love you, Jiwoo.”

Wait. Hold on…

Jiwoo pressed her hand to her forehead as the direct confession hit her like a fastball. Her head suddenly spun.

But the bulldozer-like Kangwoo didn’t stop there.

“Jiwoo, you love me too.”

“N-no, what I mean is…”

“Unless… I’m mistaken?”

Kangwoo’s eyes turned pitiful again.

At the same time, a fierce wind brushed past Jiwoo’s back.

Feeling the threatening atmosphere, Jiwoo hurriedly opened her mouth.

“Of course I l-lo… love Kangwoo!”

The longer she hesitated, the more the dust rose from the ground.

Moisture gathered in Kangwoo’s deep eyes, and massive rocks around them rolled like fallen leaves.

Jiwoo squeezed her eyes shut.

“I-I do love you! But love and marriage are different things!”

“How are they different?”

“W-well… I have certain qualities I want in a husband.”

“Tell me. What kind of qualities?”

A crease formed between Kangwoo’s perfect eyebrows.

An obsession flickered there—as if no matter what conditions she listed, he intended to meet them all.

‘Ugh, think, Do Jiwoo! Something this man definitely can’t achieve!’

Suddenly, Jiwoo remembered a TV program she watched back when she worked part-time at a barbecue restaurant.

It ranked all sorts of ridiculous things—“Star Ranking Show!”

‘Episode 109 was about ideal husband rankings.’

Rummaging through old memories, Jiwoo applied the criteria one by one.

First, appearance.

The flower boy in front of her was better looking than hundreds of celebrities combined. Pass!

Second, ability.

He had split a rocky hill in half from a mere mood swing.

His honey-colored eyes alone said he was incredibly strong. Pass!

Third, wealth.

‘Yes, this is it!’

There was no way a monster living in a dungeon had money.

…Of course, she herself, living outside the dungeon, didn’t have money either. Sob.

Wiping invisible tears inside her heart, Jiwoo gently held Kangwoo’s hand.

“Kangwoo, I’m going to marry a chaebol.”

“…A chaebol?”

“Yes. Someone rich, with lots of land, and who runs a legit big company! That’s the only way I can take care of my bunny-like sister in the hospital.”

There—this was a condition Kangwoo could absolutely never meet.

Feeling pleased, Jiwoo nodded confidently.

But because she was admiring her own cleverness, she failed to hear Kangwoo muttering softly.

“…A chaebol. That’s not difficult.”

With a slow smile, he asked again,

“Jiwoo, what are the other conditions?”

“Huh? Uh…”

What else was there?

Another reason that would force Kangwoo to give up on marrying her…

“Ah! Right! Marriage is only possible between humans!”

She had completely forgotten to mention the most obvious part.

Excitedly, Jiwoo added,

“And since you’re a monster, you can’t file a marriage registration! You can’t even leave the dungeon!”

“Monster? Me?”

Kangwoo tilted his head. Then he said,

“Jiwoo, I don’t understand. Why would I be a monster? I—”

At that moment—

Boom!

Something exploded in the distance.

Moments later, green smoke rose from one point.

“Jiwoo, come here.”

Feeling instinctive rejection, Kangwoo grabbed her hand.

He even intertwined their fingers, as if afraid she’d run off, though he kept glancing toward the distant smoke uneasily.

But Jiwoo couldn’t afford to worry about Kangwoo.

Because she already knew what that green smoke meant.

‘A signal flare… The rescue team is already here?’

The sound she’d heard just now—

It was the signal that the rescue team from the Hunter Association had entered the dungeon.

Normally, Jiwoo would have welcomed them with open arms.

She’d have worn flowers in her hair and shouted, “Welcome to Dungeon Village!”

If she could unlock all her sealed skills first, she could live her shining S-rank life afterward, earning piles of money and living the good life.

‘Miss, I’ll take everything from here to here! Installments? What’s that? Just charge it all at once—I’m too rich to care!’

Her life of trembling over 100 won would be over.

A warm, sweet life like hot chocolate—come to me!

…Yes. Up until a moment ago, that was the future she had dreamed of.

Jiwoo looked at the man beside her with complicated feelings.

“Kangwoo, my hand hurts.”

As she winced a little, the grip squeezing her hand loosened at once.

Instead, Kangwoo opened his red lips to speak.

“Jiwoo.”

“Yes?”

“An annoying guy came in.”

At the same time, he picked her up in his arms.

It was exactly the posture of someone abducting a bride.

Jiwoo’s view suddenly rose as she started kicking wildly.

“Eeeek! Kangwoo! What are you doing?!”

“Let’s get out of here.”

Suppressing her in an instant, Kangwoo then slung her over his shoulder like cargo.

A strong arm wrapped firmly around her waist.

“It might be dangerous. Wrap your arms around my neck.”

“…Huh?”

At the word “danger,” Jiwoo reflexively grabbed his neck.

A satisfied smile spread across Kangwoo’s face—then he kicked off the ground and soared.

No, literally soared.

Whoosh—thack!

Leaping an incredible distance, Kangwoo began moving across the tops of dense pine trees.

Wind whipped past them fiercely, sending Jiwoo’s hair flying in every direction.

With her eyes squeezed shut, Jiwoo screamed inwardly.

‘What kind of situation is this!!’

I, Do Jiwoo, a miracle healer who awakened to S-rank overnight.

I kissed a flower-boy stranger and got confessed to.

Now I’m being kidnapped to who-knows-where.

Oh noooo…

After flying around for quite a while, just like the word itself, Kang-woo found a wide open field.

Landing lightly on the ground, he gently set Ji-woo down on the floor.

“Ji-woo, I think we’ve come far enough.”

“……”

“…Ji-woo?”

No answer came from below.

Realizing something was wrong, Kang-woo bent his upper body to check on Ji-woo.

But—

Uweeeek.

Ji-woo didn’t have the energy left to care about Kang-woo.

Holding his spinning head with one hand, Ji-woo curled up.

The clueless flower boy softly patted Ji-woo’s back as he sat hunched over.

“Ji-woo, what’s wrong? Are you hurt somewhere?”

Are you seriously asking that right now?!

Panting, Ji-woo barely calmed his churning stomach.

Calm down, calm down. Do Ji-woo, your opponent is a monster who lacks common sense.

After letting out a deep breath, Ji-woo opened his mouth.

“…Kang-woo.”

“Yeah.”

“Normal humans die of a heart attack if they jump around from heights like that.”

The tree Kang-woo had just leapt from easily exceeded the height of a 10-story apartment building.

If Ji-woo weren’t a hunter with a body far sturdier than the average person’s, he would’ve already died of a heart attack.

He thought he had explained it calmly, but it seemed Kang-woo still didn’t understand at all.

“But Ji-woo, you’re not a normal human, right? You’re way stronger than me.”

…It seemed that this “Jiu” person must have been an incredibly powerful hunter.

What if I pretended to be him for nothing and end up getting into serious trouble later?

Feeling anxious, Ji-woo shut his mouth tightly.

During that time, Kang-woo fussed around, checking Ji-woo’s complexion and taking his temperature.

But even that was pointless, because Kang-woo’s body temperature was way too hot.

“Ji-woo, is it because of the accident where you lost your memory? Is that why your body became much weaker?”

“Uh… yes.”

Ji-woo nodded without thinking. It was easier to let him believe that.

But the next moment—

Ji-woo immediately regretted her action.

  1. Tl-nim I think the pronouns got a bit confused in this chapter! They called Jiwoo’s brother her sister and referred to Jiwoo with he/him a few times!
