Ahin looked at Carcel’s stiffened face for a moment. He had a much more capable mentor than him, and he didn’t know why Carcel came to him.

What was going on?

But he was happy to have gained his trust, he was proud of himself.

Ahin immediately grabbed the magic stone and bowed his head.

“Okay, I will try to find the source as soon as possible.”

“Thank you .”

Carcel, who came out of the room after greeting Ahin, returned to his room and turned on the communicator.

Soon after, the communicator lit up and Morris’ voice was heard.

[Yes, Sir Duke.]

“Is the investigation going well?”

[Sorry. I am searching, but there is no progress.]

Carcel didn’t blame him. He did not expect any special news.

He hesitated without answering for a moment. Unlike Chase and Ahin, he hadn’t taken the oath of master yet.

Can I trust him completely? The agony was short.

“Can you return to the Heinst estate and take the master’s oath?”

He hesitated for a moment but quickly came up with an affirmative answer.

[It is an honor for me, sir duke.]

“And when the oath of master is done, there is something I want to ask you about separately.”

I want you to find a suitable person other than Miss Ohene, someone as capable of standing up for himself as Sir Heather.

So even if Charlotte comes back home, I can protect Theo.

Carcel swallowed the words in his mouth. He couldn’t say this yet, as he still couldn’t fully trust Morris.

After all the work was done, Carcel got up to go see Theo.

Perhaps after meeting Charlotte, he thought that he would never find the peace he had in the Heinst mansion before.

When I thought about it, I felt pain in my chest again. Ever since I found out that Theo’s room caught fire earlier, my head hurts.

Carcel sat on his chair and grabbed his left chest with his right hand, his hand was trembling.

He clenched his fist with his left hand and placed his forehead on the table.

Even if he took a deep breath, the pain rarely went away.

At that time, all of a sudden, an angry voice that had never been heard in his head rang out before.

[It’s okay, Carcel. I’m always by your side].

It was a sound that sounded as if he had heard it in a dream one day.

[So don’t cry, I will protect you.]

Somehow, his voice sounded like he was about to cry because he missed him.

Carcel tried to chase the image that was in front of his eyes, and suddenly his eyes forcefully opened.

However, the owner of the voice didn’t seem to appear in the end.

The pain began to disappear little by little only when the voice that sounded like a hallucination completely disappeared.

Carcel sat in this position for a few minutes and then took a deep breath.

Before he knew it, the pain had completely subsided, and by the time it had subsided, he was up.

I stood in front of the mirror and looked at my face, it was ridiculous.

Carcel, who was checking his condition by stroking his sweaty hair, finally sat down at the table.

I can’t see Charlotte in this disorganized state. I thought I should go see Theo and Charlotte after I calm down a bit.

“Will you erase Theo’s memory?”

Charlotte looked at Randro, who had followed Carcel, with unwelcoming eyes. Although he didn’t know she was on alert, he laughed in a good way.

“Don’t worry, this won’t harm Young Master at all.”

Charlotte knew that, too. Didn’t he already erase Carcel’s memory and Theo’s?

They had no side effects of erasing memories.

However, Rando could not erase her memories.

Her stomach was hurting. The mana remembering that day probably responded instinctively.

Carcel calmly persuaded her, perhaps because he thought she didn’t trust Randro.

“Randro is a reliable person. Don’t worry too much because he can’t do anything harmful to Theo.”

“However ….”

He already erased your memories 16 years ago.

He still hid Edgar and didn’t even give you a chance to grieve for him.

He even tried to erase my memories after I learned of Edgar’s existence.

Is this really the only way, Carcel?

I wanted to ask but I couldn’t.

However, I couldn’t bear it because it would erase Theo’s memory.

It seemed to Theo better not to remember that terrible day.

“Okay.”

When Charlotte answered, Rando held Theo’s hand as if he was waiting. A group of lights stretched out from his hands and wrapped around Theo’s body.

After a moment, Theo gently opened his eyes as Randro let go of him.

“Sister.”

Charlotte softly patted Theo on the stomach. Right now, Theo calling her in a sleepy voice was a positive sign.

Before erasing his memory, the child screamed and looked for Charlotte as soon as he opened his eyes.

“Yes, Theo. Sister is here. Theo, did you sleep well?”

Theo rubbed his sleepy eyes with his small fist.

“Yes, Teo had a dream.”

Charlotte’s heart shook for a moment, she thought, ‘What if this dream was about fire?’

“We danced holding hands like that.”

Theo held the hand of Toto, the bunny doll he had been sleeping with.

It was definitely a cute scene that would make her laugh, but Charlotte somehow wanted to cry.

She buried her face in Theo’s warm stomach

“Sister?”

“Yes, Theo. Did you play with Toto?”

“Yes .”

“Was that fun?”

“Yes !”

“I’m glad Theo was having fun.”

The child smiled brightly. Charlotte was more sad than happy. She manages to speak out, wetting Theo’s clothes with tears.

“Theo, you have to be very, very happy in the future.”

The hard and heartbreaking things may be left to the adults and the child will be happy day by day as he is now.

Carcel gently patted Charlotte’s back as he tried hard to hold back the tears and wished cautiously.

He made a wish similar to Charlotte’s but slightly different.

I hope Theo and Charlotte are as happy as they are today.
