“Well… he is kind of cute.”

After the DASE logo appeared for about 5 seconds, a recommended video popped up at the bottom. One was the WANT ME performance video, and the other seemed to be a member’s vlog.

“Now that I’m watching, it’s kind of fun.”

[Jihan’s Vlog (Han River, Basketball, Snow Duck, Drawing)]

The thumbnail showed Jihan outdoors late at night with his hood up, illuminating a basketball court.

Since there was nothing else to do anyway, the roommate’s hand clicked on the next video. This time too, the video played immediately without ads.

[Jihan: Hello. It’s Jihan.]

Perhaps awkward talking to the camera alone, he glanced beyond the lens for a moment, looking self-conscious.

Thud— Thud—.

Behind Jihan’s voice, the sound of a ball bouncing on the floor could be heard continuously.

[Jihan: Uh… so where I am right now is….]

Jihan spun around, showing the basketball court. Halfway through the turn, reality seemed to hit him; he lowered his head and bit his lip.

Then, regaining his composure, he finished the remaining half turn, and a man presumed to be a DASE member passed by over his shoulder.

[Jihan: I came out to the Han River. The time is now 11:30.]

[Jihan: There usually aren’t many people at this hour, but today it’s really just us.]

He said the sudden drop in temperature was probably why, brushing his hair back.

[Jihan: I came out with Yulmu. Yulmu is warming up in front of me right now.]

As Jihan turned the camera lens to the opposite side, Yulmu, bouncing the ball on the floor, was seen gradually picking up speed and shooting the ball into the hoop.

[Jihan: Why are you so good?]

[Yulmu: Of course~ Even though I look like this—hey. Are you filming me right now?]

[Jihan: Yeah.]

Approaching Jihan, Yulmu put his arm around Jihan’s shoulder and greeted the camera.

[Yulmu: Hello~ Special appearance on Jihan-log. We came out to exercise together.]

[Jihan: I sometimes come out to exercise with Yulmu, but we couldn’t for a while because we were busy.]

Jihan, who was on the quiet side even within DASE, spoke softly, filling the silence only with what was necessary.

[Jihan: Then I’ll go play for a bit.]

Setting the camera on a bench so it wouldn’t fall, he ran to the center of the court.

The two, who were initially wearing coats, were soon running around the court wearing only hoodies.

Jihan, having just stolen Yulmu’s ball, threw it towards the hoop.

Clank—.

A metallic sound was heard as the ball went into the rusty hoop. The faces of the two returning to the bench were flushed with heat.

[Yulmu: Ah~ Hot~ I want to take this off.]

[Jihan: You’ll catch a cold.]

[Yulmu: I’ll get scolded by hyung, right?]

[Jihan: Obviously.]

[Yulmu: Wanna drink something?]

Taking off their clothes and grabbing the camera, the two walked to a vending machine a little distance away. With the refreshing sound of opening a can, Jihan was seen drinking a sports drink.

[Jihan: Originally Cheong wanted to come too, but I stopped him because he’s feeling a bit under the weather these days.]

[Yulmu: That’s because he keeps wearing thin clothes~ I keep telling him March in California and March here are different.]

[Jihan: That’s not something you should say when you’re wearing short sleeves.]

Eventually unable to endure it, Yulmu had taken off his hoodie and draped it over his neck. Meeting Jihan’s eyes, he pretended to be surprised with exaggerated gestures.

[Yulmu: Oh?! When did this come off? Must’ve blown off in the wind.]

Yulmu slyly put his arms back in.

When asked if they wanted to play another game, Jihan shook his head and looked up at the sky.

[Jihan: It’s snowing.]

It seemed the cold snap before spring had brought snow.

[Yulmu: Looks like it’ll pile up.]

Saying they should head back to the dorm before it got worse, Jihan waved goodbye.

The screen cut briefly, and this time Jihan appeared in a bright space.

[Jihan: It snowed really heavily overnight.]

The scenery on camera looked convincing enough to pass for midwinter, despite the season.

He said he wanted to show the snow, so he grabbed his camera and went out for a walk as soon as he woke up.

[Jihan: Even though the snow has piled up to the ankles, there are quite a few people out for dawn exercise.]

Jihan looked around leisurely. Every step he took, the sound of snow crunching underfoot rang pleasantly.

[Jihan: Actually, I brought something with me….]

He raised the yellow plastic stick he’d been holding in his other hand. Attached at the end was a tiny duck-shaped mold.

[Jihan: It was a birthday present, but I’ve been busy all winter and never had time to use it.]

[Jihan: I promised my friends I’d send proof photos if it snowed, so… I brought it out.]

Jihan set up the tripod and fixed the camera on the ground.

Walking a short distance away, he opened and closed the duck mold over untouched snow. But the low-density snow wouldn’t hold its shape and immediately collapsed.

[Jihan: ………]

[Jihan: Am I not doing this right?]

Repeating the same action several times, Jihan eventually started scooping snow with his hands. Pressing firmly with his hands to close the clamp, he shook it wildly in the air with clenched teeth.

[Jihan: Oh.]

After multiple failed attempts, a tiny duck finally emerged. Letting out a short exclamation, Jihan took out his phone and snapped a photo.

Click.

Then he ran back toward the lens, grabbed the camera, and dashed back to where the duck sat.

[Jihan: I made it. Duck.]

Perhaps finding making snow ducks fun, Jihan set the camera up close and started the second round of duck manufacturing.

Thus, six ducks were completed.

[Jihan: DASE.]

It was Jihan’s own way of expressing affection for the team. After shining the camera on the Duck DASE for a moment, he checked the time and got up, saying he should return to the dorm now.

However, taking a few steps, Jihan turned back to the path he came from. Stopping in front of the ducks, he carefully selected the prettiest and sturdiest one and hugged it to his chest.

[Jihan: I’m taking one as a keepsake. I think the members will like it.]

The snow duck chosen by the cat was thus carefully enshrined in the dorm freezer.

The video cut and the location changed once more. It was a space presumed to be a room.

[Jihan: I’m back from practice.]

[Jihan: Since everyone is resting, I thought I’d try drawing for the first time in a while. I’ve been studying drawing lately.]

He said fans often asked him to draw during fan sign events, and he worried they might’ve been disappointed by his poor skills. With that, he picked up a blue pastel.

[Jihan: It’s an oil pastel. received it as a gift.]

[Jihan: Today I’m going to try drawing a cat. Many people asked me to draw a cat.]

Colorful oil pastels and a white drawing paper were spread out on Jihan’s desk.

[Jihan: It’s not my cat, but a photo I saw by chance on the internet. I’m going to use it as reference today.]

Placing his phone next to the drawing paper, Jihan started drawing lines. Seeming to draw the eyes first, two round dots appeared on the white drawing paper.

Jihan focused on the drawing.

As the pastels used increased—yellow, orange, purple, etc.—the cat drawing also began to take shape.

Drawing a blush on both cheeks with red pastel, the drawing was finally completed. A kitten with a chic face resembling its owner was born.

[Jihan: Finished.]

Jihan picked up the drawing paper and held it under his face.

[Jihan: Can you see it like this?]

A brief moment of him tilting his head to check if the drawing appeared on the screen was shown.

[Jihan: I still need to practice a bit more, but still, I like today’s drawing.]

Just then, Cheong’s loud voice was heard from outside the room.

[Cheong: It’s a duck, a duck! Ice cream?!]

[Jihan: ……Wait!]

Startled, Jihan standing up and running out of the room like an arrow was captured on camera.

[Baekya: Wow. What is this?]

[Yulmu: It’s a snow duck~ Who put it in the freezer?]

[Minseong: What is it. Why the fuss. Is it edible?]

[Cheong: Let’s make shaved ice!]

[Jihan: No!]

[Minseong: Is this yours?]

[Yuyeon: Hyung, you like things like this?]

[Jihan: …It’s just a keepsake.]

[Yooyeon: A keepsake of what?]

[Jihan: …….]

[Baekya: Why are you trying to steal it from him? Give it back to Jihan. But wow, it’s really well made.]

[Yulmu: As expected, good with your hands~ You draw well too.]

Voices of the members continued to be heard over the empty chair and open door. Then, with a ‘wait a moment’, Jihan returned to the room.

He rummaged under the desk, grabbed the duck mold, and ran back out.

[Jihan: Make a new one with this.]

[Cheong: Ooh! I saw this on Y-Tube! Let’s go out!]

[Minseong: No. Where are you going at this hour?]

[Yulmu: Wow~ For a moment I thought Namkyung hyung was here. The snow hasn’t melted yet, we’ll just go out for a bit~ Right in front. Just a stone’s throw away!]

[Yooyeon: I wanna go too. Baekdo, let’s go.]

[Baekya: Me? I’ll just watch Jihan’s. Too lazy.]

[Yuyeon: That’s because you have no stamina. Put on clothes. Go out and execute 3 sets of 10 snow ducks each.]

[Baekya: What does that have to do with my stamina. Do snow ducks build muscle?]

[Cheong: Baekya, come quickly!]

[Baekya: Ah, I don’t wanna….]

[Yulmu: I refuse your refusal~]

[Cheong: I refuse!]

[Baekya: I’m oka—no, I’m not going?! Aack! Let go of me!]

[Cheong: Hyung, are you going too?]

[Minseong: I’ll lend you Baekya, so come back after playing for 30 minutes. Since someone might steal things, I should guard the dorm.]

Jihan, having protected the snow duck from the members, returned to the desk.

[Jihan: How can they think of eating it as soon as they see it? Scary guys….]

With a tired face as if drained of energy, Jihan quietly tidied up the desk, and the video ended.
