We climbed back up through the secret passage.

When we returned to the original location, my babies were still lying on the floor, their pressure points apparently still locked. It’s extremely bothersome seeing their bare skin against the rough sandy ground.

‘If I’d known this would happen, I should’ve brought a mat….’

If Hyeonmin keeps using pressure points like this, I’ll need to prepare supplies. After making a mental note like that, I started my work.

“Hyeonmin, take out the murals first and wake only Junhwi, please?”

After making that request and opening my inventory, a spacious subspace unfolded.

“Snore… snore….”

In one corner of the subspace, the fairy is sprawled out spread-eagled, snoring. Because she kept chattering with so many questions, I put her to sleep with Incapacitation bullets.

‘Since she’s non-human, she might wake up quickly.’

Being careful not to wake the fairy, I took out the statues we’d looted from the temple one by one and arranged them on the floor.

All the murals are in Hyeonmin’s inventory. I need to hand all of this over to Junhwi so my baby can research and discover additional clues.

Since they’re old objects, I worked carefully so they wouldn’t break, when—

“Did you know about the secret passage beforehand?”

A husky voice tickled my ear. When I turned around, Hyeonmin had already taken out all the murals long ago.

But instead of waking Junhwi, he’s narrowing his eyes and watching only me.

“How much do you know?”

“Ah, the passage? I only learned about that after seeing the text Go Daesik interpreted too. Everything else is information we discovered while investigating treasure hunting among ourselves.”

“Is there content about the labyrinth too?”

“No?”

“……”

He doesn’t seem to believe me, but it’s true.

The content I researched had nothing about labyrinths. I also don’t know why such an important keyword suddenly popped up.

“Can’t we wake Junhwi and all discuss it together?”

“……”

Apparently not.

Hyeonmin’s following tone was absolutely firm.

“Tell me as much as you know.”

Hyeonmin wants to discuss this alone with me.

I really feel like crying. If I have such an important conversation without Junhwi, my baby will suspect me again….

‘Let’s have some teamwork, please!!’

Right now all three of us know about the ‘nine masterminds’ and the ‘goddess’s treasure.’ So we should all discuss it together and plan our strategy, but strangely that doesn’t happen.

Why on earth doesn’t it work….

‘Is it because there are three of us?’

When three people gather, one person does tend to be left out. Since all three can’t be equally close, it naturally becomes ‘2+1.’

However, for us this isn’t a big problem.

‘Because I can be the 1!’

I actively hope for Yeon Sora to be left out.

Junhwi and Hyeonmin building strong camaraderie while I watch from the side? And I occasionally join in too?

It’s the big picture this devoted reader most desperately wants, and in reality our relationship was flowing that way. The evidence is that earlier when putting the kids on the bus, Hyeonmin even said ‘I’m counting on you’ to Junhwi.

But now Hyeonmin suddenly says he’ll exclude Junhwi and pair up with me. I soon understood the reason too.

“Did you dream about the treasure?”

Because Yeon Sora found the treasure, the prophet stack has accumulated. The prophet looks better than the possessor.

This needs to be corrected first. Fortunately, it’s not that difficult.

“Hyeonmin, without Junhwi, my dreams have no meaning.”

I looked at Hyeonmin and enunciated clearly.

“Actually, I had a strange dream recently too. I stabbed a pig with a knife trying to catch it, but instead of blood, only bugs kept coming out. What does this mean?”

“……”

“You don’t know, right? Neither do I.”

When I mentioned a random dream I had recently, Hyeonmin makes a face saying ‘what nonsense is she spouting now?’

But it’s actually an important point.

“Since I didn’t know, I looked up dream interpretation. Pigs represent wealth, blood appearing in dreams means achieving something. Bugs represent anxiety. So my dream means I’m running around desperately to make money but there are no results and only anxiety increases.”

I raised my finger and continued explaining. Our Hyeonmin seems to have understood my meaning.

Right, a prophet who dreams of the future and such! It’s nothing! Because….

“It’s more about interpretation than dreams!”

After driving that point home, I took out the final loot—the golden plate—from my inventory.

“This is the same. To me it’s just a shiny gold plate. My dream is picking up a gold nugget. But Junhwi’s interpretation?”

“Urgh….”

A groan came from the side. Hyeonmin acknowledged the importance of interpretation and released Junhwi’s pressure points.

“This is….”

Junhwi, having regained consciousness, frowned while looking at the objects arranged on the floor, then suddenly opened his eyes wide and looked around.

“The instructional Drone Eye is temporarily paused.”

Come to think of it, during the entire practicals, an invisible hidden camera must have been circling around our team.

I don’t know when he did it, but Hyeonmin seems to have temporarily turned it off. I’m glad my babies are thorough.

“Whew….”

Junhwi openly sighed in relief and turned his gaze back to the loot. And I started my engine.

“Hyeonmin said to go just the two of us, so I called the fairy and looted the temple! The fairy kept asking about my identity but I didn’t say a word! Since you couldn’t come, Junhwi, I tore off all the murals from the temple….”

I spilled everything that had happened in case he might suspect me, but Junhwi seemed more interested in the loot.

‘Does he know something?’

After picking up the Goddess’s Vessel and one goddess statue, he noticeably lifts the corners of his mouth. He even muttered quietly as if talking to himself.

“Labyrinth….”

There’s a labyrinth in the section where Hyeonmin fails every time. This was deliberately said for him to hear. And Junhwi’s strategy worked very well.

“Do you know this object?”

“Mm, I do have a guess… but I’ll need to confirm.”

Hyeonmin swallowed his saliva and waited for Junhwi’s interpretation, but Junhwi only gave a neat smile.

“Let’s talk later. It’s not a story that ends quickly.”

Our Junhwi’s specialty. Luring people in like this, then doing other work while driving them crazy with anticipation.

Junhwi began transferring the looted objects into his inventory, dreams and labyrinths and whatnot aside.

However—

Tap—.

Hyeonmin grabbed Junhwi’s wrist.

From Hyeonmin’s perspective, he’s finally found a clue to a section that’s been blocked for truly many years.

“There are no watching eyes or listening ears here.”

This means interpret the dream right now.

Inside the academy, there are many people and cameras spying on us, but here there’s only us. The perfect opportunity for the three of us to have a secret conversation.

But Junhwi narrowed his eyes beautifully and tapped his device.

“Even without eyes and ears, time flows.”

“?”

“If our team takes this long, everyone will think something happened. Our classmates, the professors and TAs, and the administrators.”

Particular emphasis on that last word ‘administrators.’ Outside, there are people waiting for us. Even people timing us.

“If we drag it out any longer, not just academy people but outsiders will also think we discovered something.”

“……”

Only then did Hyeonmin release Junhwi’s hand and help transfer objects into the inventory.

He’s dying of curiosity but enduring it hard.

Meanwhile, Junhwi is glancing sideways while subtly expressing satisfaction. It seems Junhwi’s cooking and boiling of Hyeonmin is beginning.

* * *

“We tried treasure hunting but suddenly sleeping gas came out… and everyone fell asleep.”

After coming outside, we made roughly this excuse.

Professor Joo didn’t particularly seem to believe it, but he didn’t interrogate us in detail either.

“It took longer than expected. We’ll end here today.”

This week’s practicals proceed over a total of three days, but in the format of consecutive day trips. The schedule is returning to the academy and coming back to the Tower tomorrow morning.

After returning to campus, we roughly conversed with kids around us and ate dinner. We need to act normally as if nothing happened, but—

‘Hyeonmin, you’re really curious, aren’t you?’

Our Hyeonmin is fidgeting restlessly.

Of course. Because Junhwi properly baited him.

He didn’t even open his mouth about the ‘labyrinth’ or ‘treasure,’ but around when dinner was ending, he smiled brightly and said this.

“Ki Hyeonmin, I need to consult with the student council president—want to come along?”

The student council room is a thoroughly secure space without wiretapping or hidden cameras. Since Junhwi and Hyeonmin are class representatives, being alone there together wouldn’t be suspicious.

They plan to do dream interpretation there, just the two of them.

Hyeonmin glanced at me, but—

“It’s class representative talk. We’ll meet after our meeting. Everyone rest well.”

Junhwi sent the rest of us away first. Meaning he has things to discuss alone with Hyeonmin, excluding Yeon Sora!

“You both worked hard! See you tomorrow!”

Quickly catching on, I immediately prepared to return to my room, but Hyeonmin grabbed my wrist with a tap.

“I have something to say after we’re done. Wait.”

“To me? Um… I’m sleepy so I was planning to sleep early….”

I need to become the lone ‘1’ remaining from ‘2+1.’ I backed away making excuses so the two could spend time together, but Hyeonmin silently stares at me. Eyes that say refusal is unacceptable.

That’s when it happened.

“Yeon Sora needs rest.”

Juwan grabbed Hyeonmin’s wrist, then looked up at Hyeonmin with somewhat sharp eyes.

“Sora hasn’t slept properly for the past few days.”

“I have something important to say.”

“If it’s that important, tell me. I’ll pass it on tomorrow morning.”

“……”

“……”

And the ensuing staring contest.

This is a truly unexpected situation.

Yeom Juwan, who was always only angel-like, is revealing the prickly side he showed in the original. And to Hyeonmin of all people.

‘Weren’t you two… close?’

Juwan is the closest person to Ki Hyeonmin.

The two have each other’s room keys, wake each other up every morning, and are on Yeon Sora shift duty rotation. Hyeonmin even taught pressure points for the very first time to Juwan.

“……”

“……”

Neither side shows signs of backing down first. Because they’re both kids who value conviction, they don’t back down easily.

‘This is kind of worrying.’

If Hyeonmin is a sword, our Junhwi is oil. No matter how much you stab, it’s slippery. Even if they collide, neither gets hurt.

But Juwan is a shield. If they collide, both get scratched.

“If you have something to say, shall we meet early tomorrow morning? I’m really sleepy.”

When I hurriedly intervened and yawned widely, Hyeonmin released his grip. Juwan carefully examined my wrist. Now his eyes are getting a bit scary.

“It doesn’t hurt at all! It’s really not even itchy!”

When I spun my wrist around and smiled brightly, only then did Juwan’s face relax.

“Shall we go?”

“Yeah. I’m going to sleep early today.”

After nodding like that, before parting I looked at Junhwi and confirmed once more.

“Junhwi, you said you’re meeting the student council president? Now?”

“Yeah, I have student council business.”

The student council president here would be Yoo Seoha unnie, who ranks 5th among my biases.

Hyeonmin and Junhwi’s interpretation session.

The student council scene with Yoo Seoha unnie.

Today’s a bumper crop of plot bait!

“Okay! Work hard!”

After waving my hand enthusiastically in greeting, I returned to my room and took out five mana potions without even washing up.

This much should last an hour.
