‘Finally, the finale!’

Opening the envelope from the 1st floor seems like cheating, but judging by the curve of Gyeon Junhwi’s lips, my baby had predicted even this development.

As expected, Gyeon Junhwi stands above the mastermind!

Now if Ki Hyeonmin just steps up, everything’s resolved!

With the heart of an office worker 10 seconds before clocking out, I linked arms with Seong Hayul and Park Rahee and stood in the safety barrier’s center.

“We absolutely can’t go outside! We’re the weakest, so let’s hide in the safest zone, okay?”

Can’t let my guard down until the twins are dead.

Those people specialize in cowardice, enjoy hostage situations as a hobby, and dream of world destruction.

If I carelessly watch in a daze, grasshoppers will burst, sacrifices will get snatched, and an Outbreak will trigger.

I was faithfully performing my duties as chairwoman of the <On the Brink of Destruction Frustration Prevention Committee>, thoroughly preventing even potential frustration, when—

‘?’

Ki Hyeonmin appeared before me.

Why isn’t he going to the twins but coming to me?

More than that, those two raised fingers—don’t tell me….

Swish!

The hand that flew at high speed pressed near my neck, and I became unable to move even 1mm. Fingers, toes, lips—everything in pause mode.

I’d been hit by Ki Hyeonmin’s specialty, pressure points.

“Ki Hyeonmin, what did you just do?”

With Yeon Sora paralyzed, Yeom Juwan as Yeon Sora’s attending physician couldn’t just stay still.

Our baby tiger approached Ki Hyeonmin with a fierce face and glared sharply. Looking up at Hyeonmin who’s a head and a half taller, not intimidated at all.

“Stopped her temporarily. Yeon Sora will die if she leaves here.”

“Even so, to do that to a person….”

“Confident you can stop her?”

“……”

“Protect her from inside.”

Juwan… why are you stopping there?

I don’t want the two of them fighting, but….

Meanwhile, Ki Hyeonmin spun around.

“I’m going.”

“Where are you… hey!”

Whoooosh—

My baby struck the ground with his sword, raising a sandstorm. At least I could blink, so I managed to keep sand out of my eyes.

After the yellow dust settled, Ki Hyeonmin was nowhere to be seen. He’d gone to the twins while using Stealth.

Meanwhile, Boram approached me.

“S-Sora… is this r-really okay?”

Boram, will you give me a Resurrection Potion?

I tried earnestly blinking to transmit my mental voice, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

When I get out, let’s learn Morse code first.

“It shouldn’t be harmful. Sora pushed herself hard today, so staying still might be better.”

“Th-that’s true! S-Sora’s so k-kind she’d try to do everything h-herself!”

“Even so, forcibly paralyzing someone went too far!”

“For everyone’s safety, this might be better. Using skills inside the barrier could compromise stability and break the barrier.”

“True, if it’s Yeon Sora, she’d launch skills even when told not to and drag everyone to death together.”

“S-Sora’s not like that! B-but if it’s to s-save people….”

Though some found it excessive, the team members generally agreed with Ki Hyeonmin’s action. Nobody’s trying to undo my paralysis.

“Ki Hyeonmin couldn’t have… gone to check bugs alone, right?”

At Seong Hayul’s voice, I focused on the front again.

A whirlwind was visible.

The mastermind calls it ‘blessing,’ Ki Hyeonmin calls it ‘half-human, half-monster,’ and Gyeon Junhwi prefers the term ‘status ailment.’

In short, the villains are transforming.

The whirlwind’s color was blue… the prescient’s color.

This is why villains with future knowledge are shitty.

“That whirlwind… no matter how you look at it, seems dangerous….”

It is dangerous.

The whirlwind that appears during transformation shouldn’t be carelessly touched. It means high-intensity mana is rotating.

Forcibly stopping that… is like sticking your finger into a bicycle wheel spinning at ultra-high speed.

If you insert an incredibly strong steel rod, it’ll stop with the rod bending slightly, but if a person puts their finger in, the finger gets severed.

The current Ki Hyeonmin shouldn’t put his finger in.

‘Out Hyeonmin knows that, right?’

My baby’s a combat genius so he’ll handle it well, but… I can’t help feeling anxious.

Just in case, I’ll assist…

‘What! Skills won’t activate either!’

Even the mana flow inside me is in pause mode.

This is a bit too…

‘…not! My baby did nothing wrong! It’s a wise decision!’

Honestly, if Ki Hyeonmin gets even slightly hurt, I have no confidence I can stop myself. But if I use skills here, the safety barrier breaks and everyone becomes endangered.

Right, knowing that, Ki Hyeonmin stopped me on my behalf. Just as I was trying to forcibly nod my paralyzed head,

Whiiiiir—

The whirlwind subsided.

Villain transformation complete.

My baby, you can do this, right?

* * *

Ki Hyeonmin surveyed the surrounding environment first.

He’d never planned to forcibly stop the whirlwind from the start. Because in the 2nd cycle, he’d tried and suffered serious injuries from the backlash.

‘At this level, they can’t use spirit arts.’

Deathworm fragments and blood were scattered everywhere.

Because Yeon Sora had hunted a whopping 300 Deathworms in this zone and asked Han Boram to dismember the corpses.

Though not intentional, she’d thoroughly neutralized the twins’ spirit arts.

‘Not bad.’

He only needed to deal with the two twins who’d become half-monsters.

This much was definitely manageable.

The whirlwind was already subsiding too.

Now he could confirm vital points.

[Activating Unique Skill <Boundary of Life>]

White glowing points and curves appeared.

The red-skinned TA had points carved at the uvula and both collarbones. This one was a half-monster inheriting dragon power. Those points were the reverse scale locations.

The yellow-skinned TA possessed a uniquely shaped curve starting from the scapula, ascending to the spleen, then descending to the sternum.

He didn’t know what type of half-monster this one was.

Unknown opponents took time to eliminate. Because trial and error had to be repeated.

‘Eliminate the known one first to reduce numbers.’

Just as Ki Hyeonmin determined combat direction.

The twins unleashed fierce energy and roared.

“Uaaaaaah!”

“Yeon Soraaaaa!”

They hadn’t perceived Ki Hyeonmin’s existence at all.

‘Stealth works too.’

Ki Hyeonmin’s Stealth was a technique taught long ago by a strange old man he’d met on the Tower’s hidden floor.

The old man had stubbornly insisted on the name Stealth.

Invisibility was a ‘technique to blend into surroundings and hide,’ but his technique was a ‘technique to leave the mundane world and hide.’

The way it erased presence was uniquely difficult to detect.

The twins couldn’t see Ki Hyeonmin.

This side had overwhelming advantage.

‘Going now.’

Without releasing Stealth, Ki Hyeonmin concentrated mana into his blade and unleashed a strike.

Whiiiiish—

Fiercely flying killing intent struck the yellow TA’s shin.

“Kraaaaaah!”

Ki Hyeonmin gave no opening and immediately attacked the red TA. Condensing all energy at the blade tip, he fired bullet-sized killing intent. Three times in succession.

Bang-bang-bang—

The attacks didn’t reach the reverse scales.

The red TA with increased stats dodged faster than expected.

The missed attacks couldn’t even scratch the enemy’s skin. Because he’d inherited dragon skin.

“An intruder! Yeon Sora sent an intruder! That gaslit bastard, Ki Hyeonmin!”

“Attack with numbers! Pour everything!”

“Tch! No corpses around!”

“Yeon Sora!! That bitch!”

“Yeon Soraaaaa!”

Both TAs howled in rage.

Ki Hyeonmin stepped back, coldly analyzing the recent clash.

‘Same habits.’

Though strength and speed differed, the direction they moved when sensing crisis and the angle they twisted their bodies remained identical.

He just needed to adjust variables and increase attack accuracy.

The feel was coming now.

‘Let’s go.’

Ki Hyeonmin charged again.

Bind the yellow TA’s feet with a horizontal slash, then eliminate the red TA.

Whiiiiish—

“Urk! Where are you!”

But the attack penetrated shallower than expected.

Though he’d damaged muscle and nerves, he hadn’t severed bone. Because the yellow TA stepped back, reducing impact.

‘Strange.’

He felt oddness but had no time to stop.

Ki Hyeonmin scattered killing intent toward the red TA.

Bang—

The first attack was dodged, but he’d grasped the enemy’s movement path.

The follow-up attack hit the TA’s reverse scale. Blood fountained from both collarbones.

“Kraaaaaaah!”

The TA writhed in pain and collapsed.

Two of three reverse scales eliminated.

Now just eliminate the last one and slash the yellow TA, and it’s over. Then,

Swoooosh—

An ominous energy swept above Ki Hyeonmin’s head.

The yellow TA had thrown something this way.

“I know you’re there!”

Thwack-thwack-thwack—

Dozens of sharp spikes flew over.

Deathworm poison stingers.

He’d applied spirit arts only to the stingers to control them.

Attacks without the Deathworm’s heavy weight were easy to deflect, but this was a new variable.

‘This was possible?’

The twins lacked the skill to control such small parts.

This had to be the half-monster’s influence.

‘Regeneration speed is fast too.’

The yellow TA’s shin had already recovered.

Regeneration speed faster than before.

Yeon Sora’s words suddenly surfaced.

— Gets stronger the more they’re cut! Unless you land critical hits, they’ll get stronger the more you attack!

Ki Hyeonmin didn’t trust others’ words. He only believed his own experience and the sensations at his fingertips.

And those fingertip sensations were speaking.

The opponent was evolving.

‘They can even read presence now.’

Earlier they hadn’t even perceived Ki Hyeonmin’s existence, but now they were launching stingers precisely in Ki Hyeonmin’s direction.

This too was evidence of evolution.

Thwack-thwack-thwack—

The yellow TA launched stingers toward Ki Hyeonmin faster and more accurately. While evading them, an unexpected sound reached him.

“I’ll tie this one down, so you carry out the mission!”

The red TA started sprinting toward classmates.

‘Tch, targeting that side!’

Another variable Ki Hyeonmin had overlooked.

Half-monsters prioritized their mission.

In all past cycles, their mission was eliminating Ki Hyeonmin, but… not now.

Ki Hyeonmin was an obstacle blocking the goal.

Their true purpose was…

Whiiiiish—

Ki Hyeonmin unleashed a strike toward the yellow TA, then sprinted after the red TA.

He’d stopped Yeon Sora’s mana operation.

Gyeon Junhwi had said it was fine because there was a safety barrier.

But he couldn’t fully trust those words.

‘As expected, the speed difference is severe.’

The red TA who’d become a half-monster had stats increased by a full 10 times.

Even sprinting identically, the distance widened.

Crash—

He saw the red TA swing raptor-like claws, but that attack was blocked by the barrier’s defense.

The safety barrier remained effective.

The TA had attacked the spot where Yeon Sora stood.

‘So the target is that side after all.’

The red TA had his back turned.

An angle where the dragon scales couldn’t be attacked.

Ki Hyeonmin’s current blade energy couldn’t pierce dragon skin.

‘No choice.’

Ki Hyeonmin lowered one of the swords in both hands.

[Activating Unique Skill <White Lightning Slash>]

White lightning extended from the sword.

Massive energy pierced the dragon’s armor and sent the enemy flying far away.

But Ki Hyeonmin’s sword also shattered into pieces.

His unique swordsmanship could only be withstood by mythic-grade weapons. Ki Hyeonmin didn’t yet have a mythic-grade weapon.

‘Eliminate one first.’

Ki Hyeonmin chased the red TA to finish him, but he desperately fled by leaping backward.

Even injured, that side had superior speed.

The red TA foamed at the mouth and shouted.

“I’m fine, go! For the mission!”

Looking back, the yellow TA was running while carrying a classmate.

The barrier was still effective. How they extracted the hostage was unknown.

Moreover,

‘That’s…?’

The person the TA was holding wasn’t Yeon Sora.

It was Park Rahee.

“Kahahaha! Too late! We won! How about that, Yeon Sora!”

The twins split in two directions.

The red TA sprinted toward Zone 4. The yellow TA headed toward the desert’s far side.

Neither seemed interested in the other personnel remaining inside the barrier.

‘I misjudged.’

They’d targeted Park Rahee from the start.

An unexpected variable, but now wasn’t the time to ponder its meaning.

Which one to chase.

Hesitation wasn’t long.

‘Save Park Rahee.’

Ki Hyeonmin tracked the yellow TA’s trail while Stealthed. But throughout the run, strange aftereffects gnawed at his mind.

— In today’s practical… Park Rahee got hurt. Lots and lots of monsters appeared.

Words Yeon Sora had repeated multiple times.

Her appearance, clinging to Park Rahee to an excessive degree.

‘Don’t tell me.’
