“Lady, Count Leblanc has arrived.”

I was awakened by an unfamiliar voice speaking to me.

“Ah, miss, you need to get up.”

Ugh, I still have a hungover from last night, and if you kept me shaking like that…

‘Oh, I must have gotten hit by a car on my way home after drinking.’

My eyes widened just as my thoughts got to that point.

A ceiling plastered with colorful floral patterns.

This wasn’t a hospital by any stretch of the imagination.

‘Am I really alive?’

As I staggered trying to get up, my body ached here and there.

Particularly in my waist.

‘Come to think of it, I dreamed of becoming Laura yesterday and doing dirty things with Yve.’

Though I was engrossed in the game, but not horny.

I wondered why I had such a dream, but I couldn’t dwell on it.

“Miss, Count Leblanc is expecting you now.”

“What?”

“I-I apologize. But, he’s been waiting for over an hour already…”

A young girl with messy blond hair trailed off, bowing her head in panic.

“No. Wait, who are you?”

‘Why is she wearing a maid’s outfit?’

It was a question out of pure curiosity, but the girl’s face slowly grew pale.

“I’m sorry! I-if I’ve done anything wrong, I’ll accept punishment, but please don’t fire me. I have a sick mother and younger siblings.”

Abruptly, the girl fell to her knees, plunged her head on the floor, and sobbed as she recounted a lengthy, unasked-for family history.

“Please forgive me once, Miss Laura!”

“What?”

“Ugh… I’ve done wrong. Please I’m sorry…”

The child’s shoulders shook with fear as she began to sob and plead. I simply asked her because I could not comprehend the words she spoke.

‘How do I calm her down?’

Though I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on, I responded calmly for the time being because I felt that I shouldn’t remain motionless after seeing the young child cry desperately while her head was on the floor.

“Stop crying. I won’t fire you, so why don’t you get up?”

“T-thank you, Miss!”

The girl rose bravely, but her face was a mess of tears and snot.

I hesitated whether to wipe it with a quilt that was covering my body, but the child who wriggled with her fingers cautiously spoke.

“Um, he, Count Leblanc… He’s waiting for you. What shall I do, Lady Laura?”

Count Leblanc… Lady Laura…

Those words have been bothering me for a while.

At the same time, I was reminded of Yve calling me Laura in my dream from last night.

I thought to myself, ‘Was it real, not a dream? No wonder it felt so real.’

Whether I died instantly or not, I didn’t feel any pain during the car accident, but yesterday, as Yve pushed through my legs, I felt an excruciating pain.

“Miss?”

As I remained silent in thought, the girl fidgeted, trying to get the job done.

“Well, will you please let him know that I’m too sick to see him?”

“I see!”

Finally getting the answer she wanted, she rushed out at a faster-than-light pace.

Alone in the quiet room, I got off the bed and tried to sort through my thoughts.

‘Firstly, let’s calm down and recall our memories.’

After work, I went out for drinks with my friend, and on the way home, I got into a car accident.

When I came to my senses, I was pinned beneath an incredibly handsome man and fainted while having an unexpected affair.

And then now.

Listing the memories that came to mind was like an introduction to some kind of novel.

‘Is this a dream?’

I pinched my cheeks in disbelief and felt a tingling sensation.

Passing in front of a mirror.

The woman reflected in the mirror wasn’t me.

‘Oh, my! It looks exactly like the game illustrations!’

The same light freckles across my nose bridge, the same hazy green eyes, and the same pale auburn hair.

Her raised eyebrows give the impression that she has an irascible personality.

Before the car accident, Laura Laurus was an extra villain who perished at the start of the female-oriented game titled, <Please Take Care of Saint!>, which I was almost addicted to it.

‘What I’m Laura…? That means I’m going to die if I stay here!’

The dreadful thought that I would have perished again when I just died made me cry, so I covered my head with the blanket.

I spent the day lying there, collecting my thoughts, assessing the circumstances, and drawing to a conclusion.

Well, it’s better to run away before the original story starts.

‘Laura’s advantage is that she has a lot of money.’

After deciding what to do, I hastily got everything ready and made my escape.

First, after preparing the maids’ clothes ahead of time, I packed a small antique that could bring in money for my place to stay.

I chose items like music boxes, pocket watches, and jewelry boxes that were a little worn but could be sold at an antique shop or general store as belonging to my parents.

Because expensive jewelry and trinkets are more likely to be sought after for their value and often difficult to resell.

Laura, who spends money like it’s nothing, also enjoys visiting the dressing shops.

So I asked the maid to bring a box because I had a dress to take with me, and then put the antiques and clothes I had in advance.

Ordinarily, servants would follow to carry the luggage, but I instructed them to leave it in the carriage.

I was able to set off to the dressing shop without anyone suspecting anything.

Because the dressing shop was near the mansion, the carriage arrived quickly.

After giving the coachman instructions to move the box, I asked Madame for a bag large enough to fit the luggage inside the box.

Something very plain and unremarkable, something I could take with me right now.

I also picked out some gloves, a scarf, and a few small hairpins that would be easy to dispose of, and I changed my dress while Madame looked for the bag.

Madame was a little taken aback by my abrupt change of clothes when she brought the items back, but she handled it professionally.

The price of the item was placed on the family crest as usual, and the dress I wore was tossed out.

I strode out of the dressing shop’s front door with confidence, though the coachman of course did not recognize me, and I slowly made my way past Baron Laurus’s carriage and out into the suburbs of the capital.

Because I knew there was a carriage moving between town and villages.

I was desperate to leave the capital as soon as possible, so instead of paying, I handed the coachman a hairpin with a little gem I had just bought in the dressing shop.

For my perfect escape, I lied that I needed to return home immediately after hearing that my younger brother was sick, so I paid for the carriage using a hairpin, which belonged to my mother.

The coachman readily agreed, and I was easily transported out of the capital.

My destination was a small town that was neither very large nor entirely rural, with a security level that was considered somewhat safe.

It did not contain any well-known landmarks or the mansions of influential nobility within its boundaries.

After a week-long journey with stops along the way, the carriage I rode in finally arrived at the last city.

I disposed of the bulkier items I had brought with me and made a stop at a commoner’s favorite shop to buy new clothes.

After resting for a few days, I went back in the carriage and continued traveling until I eventually came across a city that I liked.

‘That was a tough journey.’

As a commoner, there would undoubtedly be more challenges ahead, but I vowed to seize the opportunity to live my new life as if it were a gift rather than a death sentence.

“Lady, Count Leblanc has arrived.”

Count Leblanc, they must be referring to Yve.

“What’s he doing here? Wait, this is…”

A ceiling plastered with colorful floral patterns.

Regardless of how I see it, this was not the inn where I slept yesterday.

‘Is this Laura’s room?’

For some reason, I seem to have regressed.
