Floor 50 (2)

The three Irregulars who had unwillingly witnessed Seon Yul single-handedly(?) taking down the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon immediately thanked him and disappeared.

Ironically, they had been desperately begging him to join their team before seeing his skills, but after witnessing them, they ran away. Still, in the Tower, forming a team between Irregulars with a large gap in ability placed too much burden on the weaker side, so their retreat was only natural.

The three troublesome Irregulars quickly vanished, and now the only thing left was clearing the 50th floor.

The clear condition for the 50th floor was the most common one: defeating the boss.

Although both Seon Yul and Cheon Li Yu found boss raids to be the most comfortable type of condition, judging from the level of the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon, it didn’t seem like it would be very easy.

“Do we not have to defeat the mid-bosses?”

“Hm… but looking at the structure… I think we do need to defeat them. It seems like to reach the boss, we have to defeat the mid-bosses and collect all the event items inside their hearts.”

“Event items?”

At that moment, as Seon Yul tilted his head in confusion, a shadow worker who had been diligently dismantling the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon’s corpse in the Absolute Space dismantling room came running over with quick steps.

Swish.

And then it held out a red key.

“Ah…”

Only then did Seon Yul understand what the event item was.

“This is it.”

As Seon Yul took the red key, the shadow worker returned to the dismantling room.

“It looks like we need to gather four of these keys, find a specific location, and then use them there to open the boss room.”

“Tch, I just wanted to kill the boss and move up quickly, but it won’t be that simple.”

“From the 50th floor onward, it’ll probably mostly be like this. Considering that even the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon we defeated respawns after a day… maybe multiple teams collect keys separately and then open and defeat the boss together?”

“Is that why those guys were talking about forming a team earlier?”

“Seems like it.”

“Hm… but I don’t plan on teaming up with others…”

Seon Yul was someone who believed that there were always multiple paths to reach a destination.

“We’ll do it our way?”

“Of course!”

The path Seon Yul and Cheon Li Yu were taking might eventually be blocked.

But they had no intention of giving up.

If the path became blocked? Then they would simply find another way when that time came.

While Seon Yul had gone to Earth—104, Cheon Li Yu had gathered various pieces of information on her own, including information about the Tower.

Of course, most Tower-related information was general rather than high-level, and there was also misinformation, so she cross-verified through multiple methods and selected only what could be trusted.

Among that reliable information was also information about the 50th floor.

However, the amount of information was extremely lacking, and all she barely knew were the names of the mid-bosses:

Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon, Extreme Cold Ice Dragon, Blazing Flame Dragon, Shadow Dark Dragon.

There were four in total, but she didn’t even know what kind of bosses they were. That was why when Seon Yul first saw the giant Tyrannosaurus, he didn’t immediately recognize it as the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon.

If Cheon Li Yu hadn’t calmly examined it and told him, it might have taken him much longer to realize.

Now, the only thing left was to find the remaining three mid-bosses, and that wasn’t particularly difficult either.

By activating Divine Eye, a cheat-like skill comparable to Absolute Space, and searching slowly, they were guaranteed to find them.

The first one Cheon Li Yu found was the Extreme Cold Ice Dragon.

It was located at the southernmost end of the 50th floor, and unlike the tropical rainforest region elsewhere, that area alone was an ice age zone. Within a cold lake in that icy region resided the Extreme Cold Ice Dragon.

It wasn’t just any lake… it was enormous. Naturally, the entire surface was frozen solid.

In other words, the dragon existed beneath that massive sheet of ice.

If the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon were a giant Tyrannosaurus, then the Extreme Cold Ice Dragon was a giant Mosasaurus.

Like the dinosaur from the movie Jurassic World that once jumped up to eat a suspended shark.

Except this one was several times larger.

Seon Yul and Cheon Li Yu first moved quickly to the southern end, then kept a suitable distance while observing the Mosasaurus.

Of course, besides such boss monsters, there were many dinosaur-like monsters on the 50th floor, but Seon Yul ignored all those minor mobs(?) entirely.

Since they had already decided on rapid progression, there was no need to hunt monsters that didn’t help with the strategy.

“Hm, it’s completely different from the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon, isn’t it?”

After examining it for a long time with Divine Eye, Seon Yul deactivated vision sharing and looked at Cheon Li Yu.

“For now, the fact that it’s in the lake makes it tricky… I’ll analyze it with Weakness Detection.”

Cheon Li Yu used Divine Eye—Weakness Detection to examine the Extreme Cold Ice Dragon. Since she had leveled up quite a bit recently, she could now grasp the weaknesses and characteristics of mid-bosses like the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon and Extreme Cold Ice Dragon to some extent.

If they went to higher floors, the skill might become less effective, but for now, it still worked.

“…Its defense is definitely lower compared to the Gluttonous Tyrant Dragon. Its weak point is its underside, which has relatively lower defense. It’s extremely fast in water, and since water significantly reduces the power of our weapons, this won’t be easy.”

After analyzing everything, Cheon Li Yu tilted her head as she spoke.

“Hm…”

Water was definitely not a favorable environment for Seon Yul’s weapons. Their strength lay in powerful physical force, but water acted like a shield that significantly reduced that force.

“Water…”

Seon Yul muttered quietly while looking over the entire lake.

“Should we try luring it out? But would it even come out of the lake…?”

Cheon Li Yu began thinking about ways to draw it out. She believed fighting it in water would be too difficult, so she wanted to bring it onto land.

But Seon Yul looked at the frozen lake from a different perspective.

After thinking for a moment, he spoke.

“No matter how I think about it, we don’t need to go through the trouble of luring it out.”

“Then what are you going to do? You know bombarding it underwater is meaningless.”

“Of course I won’t do that.”

“Then go underwater and fight it?”

“That’s even crazier.”

“Then is there another method?”

“Yeah. One last method.”

“What is it?”

“Drain the water… completely drain the lake.”

“…What???”

Cheon Li Yu’s eyes filled with question marks. Draining such a massive lake seemed impossible.

The surface was frozen 2–3 meters thick, making even pumping impossible, and the lake itself was far too large anyway.

“I’ll modify the structure inside Absolute Space and create a slanted passage connecting two entrances. Then I’ll open one entrance at the bottom of the lake and the other above that canyon.”

“Ah…”

Cheon Li Yu began to understand.

“And when I remove the barrier at the entrance at the lake bottom…”

“The water will drain at an incredible speed!”

“Exactly.”

The dragon would have two choices:

“Get swept into the entrance by the current… or jump out on its own.”

Both outcomes were favorable.

“It’s perfect.”

“Let’s start.”

They activated vision sharing, located the lowest point, and opened a massive 30-meter entrance.

After also creating the exit above a canyon and connecting everything, preparations were complete.

Only one thing remained:

Removing the barriers.

“Ready?”

“Yeah.”

The moment Seon Yul removed the barrier…

ROOOOOOOAR!!!

An enormous volume of water rushed in and drained into the canyon.

The drainage system was complete.

Now, all that remained…

…was to wait for the Extreme Cold Ice Dragon’s choice.
