The number of fragments Gong Siyoung created increased sharply. It seemed to be the influence of the buff.
‘The Chosen One?’
It was a title he had heard somewhere before. Where was it? When was it?
He bit his lip while rapidly hurling fragments at the giant. His memories felt like they were wandering, much like his body currently floating in the air.
It was definitely recent. Sometime in a dungeon…
Ah!
“Could it be…?”
Did that crazy bastard, Julian or Yuri-al or whatever, come in? Why on earth? What for?
Amidst the confusion, Woo Yujin and Gu Jayoung also seemed to have noticed the anomaly and became noisy. Since their attack power and recovery had increased, it seemed they were talking about coming to help.
To Gong Siyoung, this was not very welcome. Even if they were here, they wouldn’t be of much help. They would only be annoying and distracting.
He didn’t know why they were coming instead of just staying quietly where they were.
When he signaled for them to just stay put, they said something or other again from over there. Gong Siyoung slightly turned his head, pretending not to hear.
Just then, the giant monster, which had fragments stuck all over its body like a porcupine, changed its posture. He held his breath, preparing for the second attack.
Cold air gathered on his palm. The moment he was about to create and throw a bright blue wind, Gong Siyoung suddenly realized that the monster was looking somewhere.
He also turned his head, following the red eyes.
〈This is the domain of the chosen one. Have you been chosen?〉
As if answering those words, the status window reacted.

[ All skills within a 10km radius are disabled. Time limit 00:10:00 ]
The sound of the ice sphere shattering was heard. All skills, including Gong Siyoung’s, were instantly disabled.
The sphere that had been floating in the air broke with a crunching sound, and Woo Yujin and Gu Jayoung fell just like that.
“No!”
He tried to use a skill, but there was no response. His body falls just like that. Gong Siyoung gritted his teeth.
The wide-open hole was swallowing them. He couldn’t even see how far down the bottom extended.
What should he do? He tried to think of any skills or items he could, but there were no support types he could use right now.
His mind spun fiercely. He flailed in the air, looking for anything to grab.
At that moment, like a miracle, he felt warmth at his fingertips.
A pure white hand gripped Gong Siyoung’s arm. Someone appeared from the empty air that had been transparent, like ink spreading.
“You…!”
Gong Siyoung’s face was colored with bewilderment as he discovered the bright blue eyes.
“How did you get here…!”
“I wonder. Why am I here?”
Julian replied playfully. His face, smiling out of habit, was simply bright.
Putting strength into his hand, he pulled Gong Siyoung toward him. The falling body gradually stopped.
Julian, who easily caught a body larger than his own, pointed somewhere.
Woo Yujin and Gu Jayoung, who had been falling helplessly just like Gong Siyoung, were stopped in mid-air. They moved floatingly, following Julian’s hand signals.
Woo Yujin’s eyes widened at the sudden situation.
“What! What is this! What is this! Aren’t all skills disabled right now? Who are you? Who are you to be helping us?!”
As soon as they were out of the pit, Woo Yujin shouted at the top of his lungs. His voice, flipped with excitement, was sharp.
“What skill?”
Julian tilted his head. Gong Siyoung approached him as he rotated his stiff shoulders. Gong Siyoung grabbed Julian’s shoulders and shook his body, shouting. Snowflakes that had piled up on Julian’s body fluttered into the air.
“I’m asking why you are here! How did you get in here? Did you sneak in this time too?”
“Hey, I didn’t come secretly; I came in through that place they called a gate or whatever? The Guild Master Mister told me to go inside and play… but is that my sword?”
A white finger pointed at Gong Siyoung’s waist. There was no way he wouldn’t recognize that familiar form.
Gong Siyoung, startled by Julian’s sparkling eyes, grabbed the sword.
“No! It’s not! I didn’t go out of my way to find it and keep it on purpose!! I just picked it up because I saw it on the way! It’s not what you think!”
“Who said anything?”
One word was thrown, and it came back as ten. Julian shrugged his shoulders at the sight of the convulsing Gong Siyoung. He naturally reached his hand toward his waist.
“Thanks for finding it.”
Though he frowned as if to avoid him, Gong Siyoung quietly accepted Julian’s hand. He smiled broadly after taking the sword that had been tucked into his waist.
Julian hugged the sword that was snapped in two dearly.
“… It really was something important.”
Gong Siyoung muttered softly. Even while pretending otherwise, Julian looked perfectly happy to have found his sword.
And then he tells me not to worry about it? Who does he think I am, a fool?
“I’m saying this in case you misunderstand, I absolutely did not enter the dungeon to find that. Since I was here! I saw the sword! I only kept it because I had no choice, so absolutely do not misunderstand.”
“I won’t misunderstand. Still, thanks for finding it.”
“I, I told you there’s no need to be thankful! I’m saying I just discovered it by chance!”
By the time he said for the fifth time that he hadn’t looked for the sword on purpose, Woo Yujin and Gu Jayoung, who had been keeping their distance and watching, crept closer.
“Do you know Hunter Siyoung? Are you perhaps the one who came to help us?”
Woo Yujin smiled awkwardly. It seemed they had let down their guard after seeing the two talking amicably. Gu Jayoung didn’t forget to point at the giant.
“I’m telling you in case you forgot, that monster over there is still there too.”
Just as she said, the giant monster that had stopped its attack stood tall on the opposite side of the pit. The giant’s red eyes watched them.
“The skill disable is still the same too… but really, who are you to be using skills in this situation? Do you have some crazy item or something?”
It was bound to be strange that a strange man was walking around as if nothing were wrong while even Gong Siyoung’s S-rank skills were non-functional.
Woo Yujin checked the status window again.
[ All skills within a 10km radius are disabled. Time limit 00:07:20 ]
Time had passed, but the skills were still in a disabled state.
“You certainly have quite a talent.”
Unlike Woo Yujin, who let it pass as no big deal, Gong Siyoung’s expression was serious. He tried to use a skill just in case, but there was still no response.
Doubt surged again. By what trick was an A-rank monster blocking S-rank skills? Even for a debuff, it should be impossible…
‘And how is that person using skills in the midst of this?’
He had survived thanks to Julian, but everything from his sudden appearance to him flying around alone was suspicious.
If Julian hadn’t appeared at the right timing, he would have fallen straight down the hole.
The more he thought about it, the more annoyed he got. Of all people to receive help from, it had to be that crazy bastard…
“What about that unlocking thing? Did Hunter Siyoung see that too?”
“I saw it.”
“A limit display appeared on the status window, right? I couldn’t see exactly what was being unlocked.”
He thought it might be a rank… at Woo Yujin’s muttering, Gong Siyoung also nodded. The hidden information looked like a rank display or a name.
“It could be an item. That side is protecting that item.”
“No. If it were an item, the word ‘unlock’ wouldn’t have come up.”
It’s not like there’s another dungeon inside the dungeon, so what on earth is it.
Even with ice fragments embedded in it, the monster didn’t move an inch. However, its gaze was still fixed on one spot.
Gong Siyoung turned his head, following the monster’s gaze. He saw the side profile of Julian, who was right next to him.
Julian, who was talking to Woo Yujin with a foolish look, noticed the gaze and caught his eye briefly. He asked ‘Why?’ only with the shape of his mouth.
“… Ah.”
The words the monster had repeatedly said came to mind. Seeing it standing still as if waiting for an answer gave him chills.
In an instant, the puzzle pieces clicked together in his head.
Julian received the title of <The Chosen One> as a reward for the initial raid.
And that monster questioned Julian. The moment the monster questioned him, the status window displayed guidance as if it had been waiting for his words.
Gong Siyoung quickly checked the status window again.

[ 「Sentinel of Niflheim」 requests an answer to the question. ]
“It’s requesting… an answer to the question.”
The words ‘Boss Monster’ had also been deleted at some point.
The name of the monster, no, that giant, was ‘Sentinel of Niflheim’. The word ‘sentinel’ contained an intuitive meaning.
He was a being that protected something.
And that was clearly related to the door on the floor.
