“Hey, you. Get out.”

“…”

Just as I thought he wasn’t a bad guy, the eviction order dropped. Damn it.

“Do you think we can eat these? If it’s because of the contamination, I think I can purify them.”

I decided to ignore the eviction order.

“I said get out. Can’t you hear me?”

“Just wait a minute.”

Pretending not to hear a word he said, I sat down in front of the toothed tomatoes fallen on the floor.

Cha Haeeon asked as if he were dumbfounded.

“Are you always this shameless?”

“Mhm, that’s right. Thanks.”

“Did that sound like a compliment to you?”

“Everyone tells me my optimism is my greatest strength.”

I spoke as if I were bashful and placed my two hands on the toothed tomatoes.

‘Purification!’

Soon, the tomatoes flickered with rainbow colors, and the clattering teeth disappeared one by one.

The cherry tomatoes, cleanly purified, gave off an appetizing red glow again.

I looked up at Cha Haeeon proudly.

“How about it, think we can eat it now?”

However, Cha Haeeon’s face was strangely distorted.

“…You, what did you just do?”

I blinked.

What do you mean, what did I do? Obviously…

“Purification.”

Only after answering blankly did I remember.

That among Awakened ones, there was no such thing as a Purification ability user.

Cha Haeeon’s eyes wavered.

* * *

I am essentially Earth’s first purification ability user.

So it’s natural for him to be surprised, but…

I tilted my head.

For some reason, there was a strangely sad expression mixed in with Cha Hae-eon’s surprise. Why does he have that look on his face?

Just as I was about to add a word.

Gurgle—!

Thunder rolled in my stomach.

Ah, I guess having only two cherry tomatoes for dinner last night and then going to sleep…

As Cha Haeeon stared intently at my stomach, my face flushed bright red.

I read the room, then stealthily picked up a cherry tomato.

“I can just eat this.”

As I blew off the dirt from the cherry tomato and gripped it with both hands, a loud sigh was heard from beside me.

“Wait there.”

“…?”

What is it?

As I waited, shrinking back a little, Cha Haeeon soon appeared from inside carrying a small dining table.

The smell of freshly cooked rice wafted from a bowl of instant rice.

Gulp. I fidgeted and pretended to look far away.

I had already made a bad impression by getting caught stealing crops, so I felt like I shouldn’t look even more like a freeloader here.

However, Cha Haeeon placed the table on the wooden porch and said, almost throwing the words at me.

“If you can’t eat it, forget it.”

“I’ll eat! I can eat it!”

Pyok, pyok, pyok, pyok!

I quickly sat in front of the table.

Then, Cha Haeeon opened a can of tuna for me.

On the dining table were a glossy bowl of instant rice, a can of tuna, and some meatballs as a side dish.

Did he farm (the act of gathering items) these from a mart?

Like the ‘looting an empty mart’ scenes that appear so often in disaster movies.

I picked up a fork and nibbled at the tuna while stealing glances at the instant rice sitting in front of Cha Haeeon.

Is there only one bowl of rice?

Or did he think I was like a stray cat and only opened a can of tuna for me?

The answer came quickly.

“I don’t have cat food.”

He really must have thought I was a stray cat.

I’m an alien, not a cat, you punk.

“Give me rice too.”

“…”

What? What? Why?

Cha Haeeon was dumbfounded for a moment, then went and heated up another bowl of instant rice.

“Thanks, farm owner.”

“Not farm owner, Cha Haeeon.”

“Yeah. Thanks, Cha Haeeon. I’ll enjoy it.”

Cha Haeeon observed me for a moment, as if finding me strange, then started eating his rice again.

I scooped up a large spoonful of rice with my fork, placed some tuna on top, shoved it into my mouth with an aah, and munched on it.

It’s delicious!

How long has it been since I had a proper meal? The warm grains of rice and the salty tuna seemed to melt in my mouth.

Nom! Munch!

Cha Haeeon watched me ecstatically eat a few spoonfuls, then said indifferently.

“Eat and then get out.”

My lips jutted out in a pout.

They say you shouldn’t even disturb a dog while it’s eating. Are you really going to be like that to a sensitive alien?

Chomp chomp.

As if to show off, I opened my mouth wide and shoved rice into it.

My feelings were hurt, but the rice I was eating for the first time in a while went down so smoothly.

Munch, munch. I swallowed the rice I had stuffed into my mouth with a gulp and asked.

“What do I have to do to make you let me stay here?”

“Why do you want to stay here?”

“Well, that’s because other places have no food and are dangerous. At Yongsan Station… that thing is there.”

“Did you see it?”

“Uh-huh.”

“…”

“It’s scary, that thing.”

Cha Haeeon didn’t reply, but I could tell he agreed about its danger.

I deliberately drooped my ears and pretended to be even more scared. It was to find an opening in Cha Haeeon’s defenses.

But Cha Haeeon thought for a moment, then said.

“I can teach you how to farm.”

I asked back, feeling a bit uneasy.

“Hunting?”

He doesn’t expect me to live off monster meat just because I’m an alien, does he? Oh, the mere thought is horrifying.

“No. It’s easier than that.”

* * *

Taking the opportunity, preparations for farming began.

Cha Haeeon took off his torn shirt and was changing into techwear (futuristic fashion designed to protect the body from the external environment).

Only then did I realize that I had been going around too uncivilized.

“Cha Haeeon, Cha Haeeon. Give me clothes too.”

“…Do you even wear clothes?”

“Hey, I’m a civilized person too.”

“You say that pretty well for someone walking around completely naked.”

“Don’t make it any more embarrassing and give me a bulletproof vest if you have one.”

At the demand for a bulletproof vest, Cha Haeeon made a dumbfounded expression and asked.

“Give me food, give me clothes, give me a house. Is ‘give me’ all you ever say?”

“Mhm. My situation has kind of turned out that way. Just give me one for now.”

I urged Cha Haeeon by repeatedly opening and closing my hand.

“…”

While Cha Haeeon hesitated, a light bulb flashed above my head.

It’s not just a bulletproof vest. I also need a weapon to go farming.

Pyok, pyok, pyok, pyok, pyok!

I ran out to the yard and stood up, clutching the axe he had used earlier to slice the toothed tomatoes.

But Cha Haeeon immediately took the ax away from me.

“Why are you taking it?”

Cha Haeeon looked down at me, holding the ax.

“Have you ever even held a weapon?”

“I’m trying to hold one starting now.”

“…”

I opened and closed my hand again.

“Just give it to me once. I think I can do well.”

“No.”

“Why.”

“Because it’s obvious you won’t be able to handle it and will just get in the way.”

“Tch.”

I pouted my lips.

“Then just give me something to wear.”

“Where would I find anything that fits you?”

“Just give me anything. I’ll make it work.”

Pyok, pyok, pyok.

“Huh? Cha Haeeon~”

Pyok, pyok, pyok, pyok.

“Give me~ Give me~”

After following him around and begging him for it multiple times, Cha Haeeon finally threw a T-shirt at me.

Excitedly, I put on the T-shirt, but unfortunately, because the length was too long, I ended up tripping and falling about three times.

Cha Haeeon wiped his face with his hands, muttering that he was going crazy, then tied the T-shirt up above my legs.

‘Good guy.’

When I stroked Cha Haeeon’s head, the guy shuddered and stood up.

Acting so prickly.

The place we arrived at after fully preparing ourselves like that was…

“Is—is this the right place?”

“Yeah.”

I swallowed my saliva with a gulp.

In front of us was Yongsan Station.
