And Miella wasn’t the only teacher the Duke family had prepared for Sephiel.

“Hello? My name is Loria. Loria de Maliana. The people down in the lower domain call me Loria, so you may do the same, Miss Baby.”

“Yes, Madam Loria.”

“Oh my. Loria is enough. Okay. Nice to meet you. Starting today, I am your playmate and etiquette teacher. I look forward to spending time with you.”

A noble lady brought from somewhere. Madam Loria de Maliana, a teacher of etiquette.

She was dressed very stylishly—truly a refined noblewoman.

‘Hmm, but I feel like I’ve seen her somewhere?’

Sephiel was sure she didn’t know her, and yet… something about her reminded her of the noble ladies of Allegro, back when she lived in the royal palace in her previous life.

A face that somehow makes it difficult to guess its age.

Sephiel bowed her head and greeted her earnestly.

“Yes. My name is Sephiel.”

“I know I’m your etiquette teacher, but at your age, learning to have fun is just as important. We’ll get to lessons gradually. Let’s focus on becoming friends first.”

Sephiel nodded, then rolled her eyes thoughtfully before asking,

“But where did you come from, teacher?”

“I come from the lands under the Grand Duke.”

“Under…?”

Sephiel perked up her ears.

“There are people outside the Grand Duke’s estate?”

“Yes, of course! There are nobles who rule there too.”

“But I’ve never seen anyone from the lower domain around here.”

“Ah. The Remdragons are in hiding. Besides, this castle is not open to anyone other than the vassals, their associates, and the direct descendants of the Grand Duke.”

‘If you’re talking about vassals, then you’re talking about servants of mixed race blood. People like Berry, Marie, and Elton. ‘

Sephiel guessed so.

‘And since they plan to migrate to the Divine Realm in a decade or so, they will probably keep their distance from the people of the land.’

Sephiel found the explanation convincing enough.

Loria continued her explanation.

“People of the land below, they are citizens of the Duchy of Remdragon. There are quite a few of them there. I am from one of the noble families. I learned etiquette from outside, and although I do not have a doctorate from an academy, I have studied abroad and done some research. So please ask me anything.”

Loria explained gently.

“I see. Please teach me.”

Sephiel said without thinking.

Then Loria praised Sephiel, saying,

“Oh my, oh my. How adorable you are.”

“I was surprised, honestly. It’s rare for members of the Duke family to request someone from the lower domain. I wondered what kind of lady would be needed for such a role.”

“Yes.”

“The Grand Duke’s family is a divine being in this territory. So for me, being given the chance to teach one of you—it’s the highest honor.”

Loria continued speaking in a calm tone.

‘A bit scatterbrained, this one… but she doesn’t seem to have any bad intentions.’

“How old are you, Madam Loria?”

Loria said with a warm smile that she was in her mid-forties and that her husband had passed away at an early age.

“Hmm, but you look much younger.”

“Oh my, haha. Thanks for the compliment.”

Sephiel noticed that when Loria smiled, her lips moved slightly unnaturally.

‘Are you getting beauty magic?’

Sephiel tilted her head.

In the Kingdom of Allegro, Sephiel had seen women receiving beauty magic there in her past life.

The kingdom was very commercially advanced in magic, so magic for cosmetic purposes, skincare, and anesthesia were quite popular. Illegal procedures were also rampant, which became a problem.

‘Hmm… it seems like even the people in the lower domain live pretty comfortably.’

Sephiel nodded quietly to herself.

The people of Remdragon rarely traveled outside the country, so Sephiel did not know much about the people of Remdragon territory.

However, it seemed that importing goods or leaving the country with permission was permitted.

‘Besides, in cases like mine where the parents don’t send someone, I heard that the chaperone is usually a noble lady from the area.’

So it was very appropriate that Loria came.

‘But still… Today’s teacher interviews were basically a parade of spies.’

‘Besides, Miella is also very suspicious.’

‘But taking lessons with Miss Miella is worth the risk.’

Sephiel was certain of that.

Among the people Sephiel had seen in her past and present life, there was no genius who showed as much talent for ‘studying’ as Miella.

‘But Madam Loria is a little different.’

She was a teacher of etiquette, so it was more important for her to be trustworthy than knowledgeable.

‘Better not let my guard down around  people outside the Grand Duke’s family.’

So with a bit of wariness and a lot of curiosity, Sephiel made it through the chaotic first day of lessons.

And then Berry came in.

“Miss Baby, were you tired? Okay, today’s main snack is apple pie. How was your first class with Madam Loria today?”

“Umm… we mostly just said hello.”

Sephiel glanced up, hesitated, then tugged on Berry’s collar and whispered,

“I can speak nicely now, and I’ll be polite from now on… so… can’t I just learn from you instead?”

“Oh, you’re so cute.”

Berry hugged Sephiel.

“But that won’t work. You will grow up and become a great adult someday. It would be nice if you could live in our grand duke family for the rest of your life.…”

“…..”

“One day, you’ll experience the world outside these walls. With your status, it’s important to learn the latest manners and conversation skills. We can’t teach you everything it takes to become a proper lady of society…”

Sephiel looked at the slight sadness on Berry’s face and simply nodded.

‘Someday, they’ll all leave me behind. These people…’

But that day was still far off.

‘The more I love them… will it just hurt more later?’

Sephiel was too young to understand how to “love a little less” out of fear of future loss.

For now, the warmth of Berry’s affection felt stronger than the faint ache in her chest.

‘Still, those two newcomers… Brought in especially for me… outsiders rarely allowed into the Grand Duke’s Castle.’

Sephiel secretly decided to keep an eye on them.

‘Hmm, I’ll have to wait and see.’

And so, new days began for Sephiel.

* * *

“She’s still not out yet?”

“Yeah. I wonder how long this lesson is going to last.”

The Grand Duke’s Library.

With its numerous ancient books, it boasted a collection that would make scholars from all over the world drool.

It was here that Sepiel had daily lessons with Miella.

The problem was, that Sephiel had completely fallen in love with studying.

“Mathematician Maliakan’s unsolved theorem—great! I solved up to the halfway point today.”

“Can’t we go just a little longer…?”

Miella looked at Sephiel with cold eyes.

“It’s already been six hours. I’m tired too, so let’s call it a day.”

“Yeah. Okay.”

Sephiel nodded obediently.

Discussions about history, difficult mental math problems, and even Sephiel’s specialties, business and accounting.

At twenty-five, Miella was a genius across multiple fields.

‘I am good enough to follow the teacher.’

Since these two geniuses met, it was natural that the classes would continue without interruption.

“Oh, dear. Madam Loria will be upset.”

Berry let out a sigh of relief as Sephiel finally stepped out.

“Oh, right. Etiquette class.…”

Sephiel suddenly came to her senses.

‘I didn’t realize today’s lesson went that long again!’

“Is Miss Miella being too hard on you?”

Sephiel shook her head.

“No, it’s not that. I’m always the one begging to keep going. Who knows when I’ll get another teacher this good? I’m happy to be learning so much.”

“You’re such a sweet child. How can such a precious child exist? But don’t push yourself too hard, okay? If Miss Miella makes you study too hard, you have to tell me right away.”

Berry gently patted Sephiel and whispered to her.

‘Hmm… Is Miss Miella getting hate because of me?’

Somehow, Miella had been labeled an overly intense, strict teacher.

‘Huh?’

Suddenly Sephiel felt eyes looking at her from afar.

‘Miss Miella?’

Through the crack of the open library door, Miella was staring at Sephiel with an unreadable expression.

‘What does that expression mean?’

‘No. To be exact, she was looking at Berry and me at the same time.’

A look that seems to be filled with hatred, or perhaps jealousy.

‘Huh, did I do something wrong?’

It was a gaze that made me think like that.

But Miella soon turned her head and began to organize her books.

* * *

And the next day, Sephiel received an etiquette class from Loria.

“I was starting to think you weren’t coming today. How are you feeling?”

Sephiel read the slightly disappointed expression on Loria’s face.

That was understandable, since Sephiel had enjoyed her lessons with Miella much more.

Naturally, the class time with Miella got longer and there were days when Loria’s class was skipped.

‘I have to work hard in this class today too.’

Sephiel thought to herself.

“I will work hard today!”

She said aloud, and Loria seemed to feel a little better.

“Oh my. But you’ve already learned such difficult things with Miss Miella. You can take it easy in my class.”

“Is that okay?”

“Hehe, of course. Now, let’s get a massage that’s great for children’s growth. Even if we put off other things, we must never neglect beauty care from a young age!”

Sephiel was a bit suspicious of that statement, but decided to do so.

Moreover, Loria treated Sephiel as if she were a real noble lady.

‘Huh… this smell…’

Sephiel looked at the cream Loria brought.

“It smells like an adult…”

Sephiel sniffed the cream with her small nose.

“Even children need moisturizing care in winter—for both health and beauty. Your soft white skin will become even prettier.”

Sephiel thought that it might be a bit early to do that thing.

“You have to be careful with adult cream. If you use it wrong, it hurts.”

“Oh don’t worry. This one’s completely safe. Now, let’s finish the massage and sing a song while playing the piano.”

Loria’s attitude was quite different from Miella’s.

‘She’s kind to me like everyone else is… But it feels like she’s watching me closely. Why… is she watching me like that?’

‘Ah.’

Sephiel realized.
