I Became the Apostle of an Evil God Chapter 5
Title: [General] Guys, by any chance, has anyone cleared the final boss?? (Spoiler Warning)
Shit, I barely cleared that motherfucker Orma, but which option should I choose here?

user_1: I was so fucking pissed off that I chose the option to kill that son of a bitch Orma, lmao.
└ Me too.
└ Fucking obviously we gotta kill him, that dog-like bastard. Seriously, it was a total pain in the ass to kill him.
└ Real, lmao.
└ Ah, so I wasn’t the only one, lmaooo.
user_2: Wow, you cleared it??? How did you do it… I feel like hitting a wall starting from Phase 1;;
user_3: Are there options? I’m curious. I guess you have to clear it first to see them ㅠㅠ I’m jealous.
user_4: Can’t you post a strategy guide first?
└ There’s a strategy guide already summarized and uploaded, but it’s an area of physical mechanics, so it doesn’t mean much.
└ Real, this bastard uses the same pattern, but sometimes he hits fast and sometimes he hits slow, so it’s seriously infuriating and pointless.
└ There’s no way around it other than the elementary schooler method of seeing and dodging;
user_5: In the first place, there aren’t many people who have even reached the final chapter right now, and there probably are even fewer who cleared it..
user_6: Out of the kids commenting up there, there’s definitely someone running their mouth even though they haven’t cleared it, seriously.
└ Real.
└ Exactly. If there’s no proof, what is it? lol On Rettit, they said only the top 0.001% cleared it lol
user_7: Hey, don’t choose the option to spare him, shit. I clicked it because I was curious, but he fights you again.
└ Real??????????
└ That crazy bastard, even when you spare him, he throws a fit and fights…
└ That piece of shit Orma gets even stronger, fuck.
└ ? Is it even possible to get any stronger than that????
Title: [Information] [Final Chapter Spoiler Warning] You guys should absolutely never choose this option.
After clearing the final boss Orma, options appear like this.
If you choose the option ‘I want to save you and the world’ here, Orma suddenly loses his mind and laughs, goes into a frenzy, and fights you again.
The patterns are completely different too, and you just die in one hit if he grazes you, fuck. I’m seriously screwed.

user_1: Holy shit, he fights you again??
user_2: Hey, I saw a screenshot someone uploaded, and right now there seems to be only one person in the entire world who has cleared it in that state, but options appear again. But if you choose the option to save him again, they said he fights you yet again??
└ ?? Isn’t it a bug?
└ So that crazy bastard is basically begging to be killed?
└ Let’s just kill Orma, shall we? His very existence is a detriment.
└ Is there a link?
└ I saw it on Rettithttps://www.rettit.com/r/MOXNOX/comments/q1w2z3x4/Orma_final_choice_2
└ Thanks for the link.
└ Holy shit, it’s real.
user_3: It basically just means don’t save him, lol;; Yeah, I have no intention of saving him either~ (To begin with, I couldn’t even reach the final chapter).
user_4: Ah, I was going to choose the option to save him because he felt somewhat pitiful, but I almost got totally screwed..
└ Let that problem child just live in hell forever~ Whether the world goes to ruin or not, why should I care~
└ What on earth did those priest bastards drag out, lol. That guy himself is a living disaster, so what do they mean by stopping the disaster, lol.
└ In order to stop the disaster, Orma must come outside and blah blah blah~ : Boring and pedantic.
Let’s just let it go to ruin, shall we? : Easy and simple.
user_5: Would there actually be someone who keeps choosing the option to save him? lol.
└ Aren’t they either a masochist or an idiot?
└ Could be both.
└ ;; Is it really that bad?
user_6: I just went to check that Rettit link above, and his battle of nerves is seriously something else, lol. Anyway I’m gonna save you vs Then let’s fight.
└ For now, it seems the ‘Then let’s fight’ side won, lol;
└ Real, lol. I am curious about the worldline where someone chooses the option to save him until the very end.. Though I don’t know if such a crazy bastard would exist.
The option to save Orma, the final boss in the game, demanded a far from easy price. Once you subdued Orma, options asking whether to save him or kill him appeared. And if you chose the option to save him, Orma would go into a frenzy and enter combat once again with his health fully restored.
Van was also flustered at first. He attacked with completely different patterns from before, and as always, if he got hit even once, Van’s character would die without fail. Then it would go back to before the first battle with Orma…. If it were an ordinary gamer, their mental state would have crumbled at that point, and they would have randomly spewed posts on all sorts of gaming communities blaming the game developers for making such a boss.
However, for Van, to whom was his very first game, he quickly composed himself and spent days on end devising a strategy against Orma again. As time passed, it gradually felt less like Orma was a boss executing fixed patterns inside a game, and more like he was something truly alive.
Around that time, it felt like he was continuing to play out of sheer stubbornness. When he subdued Orma and chose the option to save him, Orma would go into a frenzy again, and once he barely subdued him, the options would pop up again, and once he chose the option to save him, Orma would go into a frenzy yet again. Only after doing that routine three times was Van finally able to save Orma.
No, in truth, he wasn’t quite sure if he had really been able to save him. Orma, who had lost his will to fight, wailed that he wanted to die, and the system inside the game presented a new option, different from before.
[…The will of the evil god shatters into pieces and scatters along with the world. Will you become his apostle and grant him salvation?]
He didn’t know what it meant to save. Whether it was the world, or Orma. Or it could be both. However, having learned that what Orma desired was death, Van gazed at Orma, who was letting out a wretched outcry inside the monitor, with a complicated heart.
Having fought back and forth like that while staying up all night for days, wouldn’t it be strange not to grow attached? Therefore, Van clicked ‘Yes’, sincerely wishing for Orma to be happy. After that… when he came to, he found himself reincarnated in the world inside the game.
Recalling the past days, Van realized deep down that he had been eagerly looking forward to meeting Orma all this time. I want to become your apostle. Saying that aloud made him feel relieved and thrilled at the same time. The sight of him blinking there with a dazed face caught his fancy more than expected, too.
“…Apostle?”
“Yes, an apostle.”
“What… is that?”
Uh, this was unexpected. The stupid expression made by a sharply handsome man was quite cute at first, but by this point, it was perplexing and absurd.
This was bad. He was seriously terrible at explaining things. Van pondered while repeatedly opening and closing his mouth for a long time, then spoke carefully.
“Hmm… for now, shall we say it’s an existence that does everything God orders? An evangelist who propagates doctrines or takes on the mission bestowed by God….”
“So, you’re saying you’ll become my slave?”
Orma, though he himself was crazy, stared at Van as if he were looking at a madman. Feeling wronged by that, Van rambled and added to his explanation.
“No, it’s similar, but… after all, since it’s a person who follows God, wouldn’t it be more correct to view it as a priest…?”
“Follow God? Me, a God?”
As if those words were preposterous, Orma smiled mischievously. Apparently, it was his first time seeing a human who regarded him as a ‘God’, and he even scanned Van up and down as if it were intriguing. Then, he tightly closed his mouth and pondered for a moment.
What if he won’t accept me only now? No way, I even reincarnated into a world inside a game because of you. Van looked at Orma with a trembling heart like a job seeker waiting for interview results.
Finally, after deep contemplation, Orma raised his head, locked eyes with Van, and opened his mouth.
“…You look similar to me.”
“In what way exactly…?”
Van asked back with a hesitant face. He was curious as to what Mr. Orma saw him as to say he was similar to his own crazy self.
Fortunately, Orma, who didn’t notice that part, replied plainly.
“You kept resurrecting.”
“Ah.”
In a certain sense, one might think they were alike, but in reality, it was completely different. Orma was closer to possessing a body that couldn’t die. Although he was born a regular human, after taking the power of God, his body became a demigod and became immortal. It was far more cruel in the sense that instead of his life completely ending and resurrecting like Van, his body repeatedly regenerated and recovered while accompanied by pain.
Orma, who had emptied emotions from his face to the point where it was impossible to tell what he was thinking, spoke in a low voice that was more refined than at first and moderately pleasant to hear. As he spoke, he cast down his golden eyes and blinked slowly, as if organizing his thoughts himself.
“It’s not that you’ve set foot in the realm of God either, right…. Since your eyes aren’t golden. But it’s certain that there’s something. I’m curious about the limit of the power you possess, but you have no intention of telling me, right?”
“Hmm….”
To be precise, Van himself didn’t know either. Van rolled his eyes, escaping from Orma’s gaze that was trailing him. Orma didn’t mind, as if he hadn’t expected Van to answer from the beginning, and continued speaking.
“So, I know neither your identity nor your schemes, but I’ll let myself be swayed as you wish. So, play around with me as much as you like on your own accord, and when everything is over….”
“…When it’s over?”
“Kill me, please.”
I beg of you.
The words spoken so earnestly made the space around Van’s chest ache. Van finally came to know that the time he had been yearning for death was from a very long time ago, and that the reason he had been stuck inside hell all along was because he wanted to die.
In fact, to be mathematically precise, this place was not hell. It was merely a rift in the space called ‘Rima.’ While there was no dreadful something that humans imagined, day and night regularly arrived in the empty space where nothing existed.
The reason this place was called hell was simply because it was a day and night that possessed temperatures where living creatures could not survive. A repetition of a day that melted even bones, and a night where even breathing froze hard in an instant.
Orma might have been harboring a hope that if he stayed here, he would be able to die someday. However, what he had obtained over a long period of time must have been a pain that couldn’t be endured without going mad, and the regeneration of his flesh.
To think that what he had been craving all along while enduring in a place truly like hell was a mere death. Van looked at Orma with a face at a total loss, not knowing where or how to begin touching upon it. Becoming someone’s salvation was such a heavy and difficult thing.
What answer should he make? For now, should he say he would do so, even if it were a hollow word? But… what if that becomes Orma’s hope? What if he endures while looking only at that one thing? He’s a guy who has endured an immense amount of time in a space like this just because he wants to die, so there’s no way it would be that simple.
After pondering for a long time, Van slowly took a step toward Orma. Fortunately, Orma neither avoided him nor stepped backward. He merely stared blankly at Van.
Though it was a short distance, every step heading toward him was cautious. Finally, at the moment they became close enough to touch if he reached out, Van bent his waist, locked eyes with Orma, gently grabbed his hand, and spoke.
“No matter what that may be.”
“….”
“Solely for you, as your apostle, I will act as you wish.”
So may your will be done, and only do not leave you alone in loneliness.
Until that day comes, I will be by your side.
