Wedding Ending Chapter 22
Most male players consisted of Alphas and Betas. Physically, it was that harsh of an environment for an Omega to endure. Even so, Lee Yuseong won the men’s doubles at the International Junior Tennis Championship. It was a splendid feat achieved when he was fifteen years old. The players who trained together called Lee Yuseong, a recessive Omega, ruthless. This was because behind his signature bright and cheerful smiling face, he was a ferocious practice worm. Lee Yuseong was the person who came out earlier than anyone else to train, and stayed the latest to do physical conditioning before leaving. His grit was entirely different from Min Jaeyoon, who was the exact same age.
“You two are coming together?”
Min Jaeyoon’s shoulders stiffened rock-hard. Kang Seunghyun’s head, which had been looking far away, turned. Min Jaeyoon turned his toes as if following the same spot. Breathing lightly as if he had been running, he took off the hood of the gray hoodie he was wearing on his head. With closely cropped hair, sun-tanned skin, and wearing a tracksuit, Lee Yuseong stopped in his tracks.
Since he was completely unprepared, Min Jaeyoon looked at Lee Yuseong approaching closer and hastily turned his body around. Reaching out his hand, he clamped Kang Seunghyun’s mouth shut as if trying to control it first.
“Mmph? Mmph…!!”
Kang Seunghyun furrowed his brow and grabbed the slender wrist. Min Jaeyoon, holding his mouth squeezed shut like a duck, hurriedly pulled the navy coat. Kang Seunghyun’s upper body lowered sharply forward. He whispered quickly into his ear,
“He’s your sister-in-law, got it? Don’t speak carelessly!”
Whatever the lost-memory situation was. Lee Yuseong was strictly married to Kang Jion. He had intended to be considerate of a sick person and explain more softly and in detail, but facing each other like this made it a meaningless consideration. The current Kang Seunghyun was a person whose foul words were unpredictable. Min Jaeyoon issued a threat as if declaring war. And as he let go of his hand, Kang Seunghyun, who had furrowed his brow fiercely, rubbed his lips hard with the back of his hand.
“You’re still on good terms.”
What on earth he saw to say such a thing was a mystery. Min Jaeyoon smiled bitterly. If he could, he wanted to hide Kang Seunghyun behind his back. However, it was an impossible task.
“You must have been practicing. I heard you weren’t coming lately….”
Min Jaeyoon babbled random words. The back of his neck prickled, but he didn’t care. He wanted to avoid any situation where Kang Seunghyun opened his mouth at all costs.
Kang Seunghyun was glaring at Min Jaeyoon with terrifying eyes. Lee Yuseong, who was looking at Kang Seunghyun’s side profile, turned his head and asked,
“Who… to Mr. Jion?”
💍
Inside the headquarters of Yeonjin Group. Sitting in the CEO’s office, Kang Jion replied briefly to the sound of knocking and turned the document folder over. Secretary Ha came in and placed a printed article on the desk. It was a photo of Kang Seunghyun and Min Jaeyoon taken in front of Aram Hospital.
Kang Jion scanned the photo with an observing look, then gestured.
“Gently leak that Jaeyoon is not feeling well.”
Comparing the two, Min Jaeyoon had less to lose. It was just that that was purely the standard from Yeonjin Group’s perspective.
“Understood. CEO.”
Kang Jion signed the document he was reviewing, then stood up. Secretary Ha escorted him as he headed outside, moving his steps.
The car carrying Kang Jion and Secretary Ha stopped in front of Yeonjin Hotel. A smile was widespread on Kang Jion’s face as he stepped out of the car. Having come to check if the upcoming New Year event was being prepared without a hitch, he entered the building surrounded by people.
💍
Min Jaeyoon, who followed Lee Yuseong into the executive office, sat on the sofa. The leather supporting his buttocks and back was comfortable. Inside the executive office, there was an L-shaped desk, a glass display case, a cabinet, a refrigerator, and a coffee pot. In the past, he shared an office with other people, but it seemed he got a private room after marrying Kang Jion.
Kang Seunghyun sat plop on the head seat of the sofa. Min Jaeyoon decided to leave him alone. He was deeply relieved just by the fact that he didn’t open his mouth.
Lee Yuseong went into the restroom attached to the executive office, saying he would wash his face. Min Jaeyoon muttered without context,
“You liked him.”
Kang Seunghyun’s gaze drifted slowly over. Min Jaeyoon added as if making it clear-cut,
“No, you still like him.”
That was the case up until the accident, more elaboration was needed, but the circumstances didn’t allow for it. Because Lee Yuseong, having finished washing his face, came out with a white towel draped over his neck.
“….”
Unlike a moment ago, Kang Seunghyun’s pupils moved strangely. Furthermore, whether he fell into thought while looking at Lee Yuseong’s back, he didn’t say anything.
“Do you want to drink coffee? Seunghyun without sugar, and Jaeyoon, shall I give you milk?”
Kang Seunghyun’s head turned toward Min Jaeyoon like flowing water. Both of Min Jaeyoon’s cheeks flushed bright red.
“No, I….”
“We’re all out of milk. Is Cola fine?”
Lee Yuseong, who was fetching teacups, bent his waist.
“Where was the tray….”
Flustered, Min Jaeyoon scratched his forehead. Once upon a time, Min Jaeyoon had consumed large amounts of milk to grow tall. Though he eventually quit after getting an upset stomach.
Min Jaeyoon turned his head and stopped breathing. In response to the sight of Lee Yuseong’s near-perfect body line bending at the waist, his firm buttocks stood out, and his long, straight legs captured his gaze. Lee Yuseong’s body, which had exercised since childhood, was flexible yet solid. He possessed almost all of the physical conditions Min Jaeyoon wanted to have. The sun-tanned skin was like that, and so were his nimble movements and speed.
Doubles tennis was a sport where two people moved as one body. Lee Yuseong had outstanding ability to handle situations. No matter who he teamed up with, victory belonged to him.
Min Jaeyoon turned his gaze with a stiffened face. Kang Seunghyun must be looking at Lee Yuseong too. Seeing a sight like that, even if he had no memories, his body might be aroused. He stole a cautious side glance as if to check. However, Kang Seunghyun was looking at the award certificates, medals, and trophies in the glass display case. Those were Lee Yuseong’s spoils of victory as well. Though he was currently retired and working as a coach.
Lee Yuseong, who had alternated between winning championship titles and runner-up titles since he was fifteen, had filled the glass display case with trophies. Min Jaeyoon envied Lee Yuseong deep down. He had even prayed to have just a single one.
However, it was something Min Jaeyoon could never have. When his father, unable to watch any longer, said he would make a custom trophy saying ‘Hannam-dong’s Filial Son Min Jaeyoon’, Min Jaeyoon welled up and cried even more sorrowfully.
Was it around then? When Kang Seunghyun entered a tournament….
Looking up at the sparkling medals and trophies, Min Jaeyoon fell into thought. No doubt he did it just to boast to me, anyway even that guy got it easily… Min Jaeyoon couldn’t get one even once.
Though he played tennis since childhood following Kang Jion, Min Jaeyoon didn’t have athletic reflexes like that. It wasn’t as if he was exceptionally good at swimming either. Min Jaeyoon simply enjoyed splashing around and playing in the water.
“How is your body?”
Instantly snapping out of his thoughts, Min Jaeyoon snapped back to reality. Setting down coffee and two glasses of Cola on the table, Lee Yuseong asked. Min Jaeyoon assumed his question was naturally directed at Kang Seunghyun. But what Lee Yuseong was looking at was Min Jaeyoon, who was sitting opposite on the long sofa.
“Huh? I’m fine… The one who got hurt is him….”
Min Jaeyoon curled his fingertips and pointed at Kang Seunghyun. Lee Yuseong was strictly a married couple with Kang Jion. So he judged that he would have heard the fact that Kang Seunghyun ‘could not remember’ past events from Kang Jion. However, contrary to Min Jaeyoon’s thoughts, Lee Yuseong looked at Kang Seunghyun as if it was the first time he had ever heard such a thing in his life.
‘Is Jion hyung so busy that he didn’t tell him?’
Thinking that could be the case, the doubt was brief. The work Seunghyun was doing must have all passed to hyung as well. He was the person who would be suffering the most mentally right now.
Min Jaeyoon spoke as if changing the subject.
“How is your body? I heard you were sick….”
“Me?”
Lee Yuseong had an obligation to attend the charity concert held on Christmas as well. However, Lee Yuseong’s appearance was nowhere to be seen that day. Didn’t Kang Jion say so? That Lee Yuseong was not feeling well so he told him to rest.
“Did Mr. Jion say that? That I was sick?”
Min Jaeyoon nodded almost imperceptibly. Questions go round and round endlessly. It feels like a conversation is not taking place at all.
“….”
