The ‘Yeonjin Group,’ where Kang Jion and Kang Seunghyun belonged, built its brand image based on the hotel business. Now, it had grown even more massive in scale, occupying the entire duty-free industry. They also built up their focus on tourism infrastructure without missing a beat, puffing up their size day by day.

In contrast, ‘Sekwang Industries,’ where Min Jaeyoon belonged, was a construction company. Min Jaeyoon’s great-grandfather used to jokingly express that his family was the one supporting the pillars of Yeonjin Group. This was because the fruit of labor achieved through new technology, unimaginable at the time, was the current five-star hotel. There was no place more suitable than that to host precious guests.

The Yeonjin Hotel was a social club for Alphas. Numerous leaders gathered there. It had also raised its prestige during the Alpha Summit held not too long ago.

Furthermore, the two families were currently pushing forward with a resort construction centered around the southern coast. It was with the intent to achieve once again the brilliant feat accomplished during their great-grandfathers’ time.

…I thought for sure he would marry me. Min Jaeyoon’s face turned sullen. He rubbed his fingertips, where Kang Jion’s warmth still lingered. Even though he had definitely promised me that he would do so. However, because it was a promise made when they were way too young, it seemed Min Jaeyoon was the only one who remembered that fact.

It was just when the face of Lee Yuseong, who had captured Kang Jion’s heart, was about to pop up in his mind. Secretary Song urged him while looking somewhere. Min Jaeyoon shifted his steps, sliding one hand into his pocket. However, he couldn’t put to rest the thoughts blossoming in his head.

At Min Jaeyoon’s face appearing behind Secretary Song, the eyes of the people standing around Kang Seunghyun shone.

Min Jaeyoon’s complexion was deathly pale. His light-colored, slender eyebrows, and his long eyelashes fluttering while making eye contact with Kang Seunghyun cast a strange shadow beneath his eyes. His prominent lips were red, and the tightly locked mucous membranes stimulated desire.

Just when one might think he was drawing up the corners of his lips to smile toward Kang Seunghyun, he whipped his head around to look at the surroundings. Color returned to the faces of the Alphas who were around Kang Seunghyun. Soon, they opened their mouths politely as if keeping an eye on Kang Seunghyun’s mood.

“It’s late, but congratulations on your marriage.”

A middle-aged man extended his hand in front of Min Jaeyoon. Min Jaeyoon pulled out the hand he had kept in his pocket. Leaving his momentary hesitation behind, he extended his opposite hand. The middle-aged man tactfully switched the hand he had held out.

“Thank you. I was in such a rush that day that I couldn’t even greet you properly. Still, I remember that you came. Is Mijin doing well too?”

“To think you’d even remember my daughter….”

A wave of intense emotion arose around the middle-aged man’s eyes.

“Of course I must remember. You came together that day to congratulate us.”

Usually, grand celebrations in a family are not held twice in a single year. This was because it was also burdensome for the people accepting the invitations. As Min Jaeyoon extended his fingertips and turned his head, he made eye contact with Kang Seunghyun. Eyes shining like glass beads within a near-perfect face were looking back at him. Suddenly, Kang Seunghyun reached out his arm and gripped Min Jaeyoon’s hand.

Min Jaeyoon’s shoulder flinched. The warmth remaining in his right hand vanished all at once. With distorted eyebrows, Min Jaeyoon tilted his head slightly to look up at Kang Seunghyun. While holding his hand, he spoke to the person in front of them.

“Let’s talk about the rest in the office. Secretary Song will contact you separately.”

“Yes. Then I will be waiting, Executive Director Kang.”

Leaving behind the people bowing their waists, Kang Seunghyun shifted his steps. As if being pulled along, Min Jaeyoon also took a step. He fidgeted his fingers. He tried to pull his hand out, but it wasn’t easy.

“Are there still people left that I need to greet?”

Min Jaeyoon attempted to converse softly, moving his lips slightly. He couldn’t show a bad appearance in front of people, could he? “Even without you mentioning it, I was planning to visit with Jaeyoon to give New Year’s greetings.”

“Our father is going to love that so much. You know he trusts you, brother-in-law, more than me, right?”

While the two continued their conversation, Min Jaeyoon clenched and opened his tingling fingertips.

“Next time you come, don’t come alone, come as a pair.”

“As expected, brother-in-law is the only one who thinks of me.”

Min Jaeyoon lightly shook his fingertips. Perhaps because blood was circulating belatedly, it tingled all the way to his elbow.

“Brother-in-law, I’ll talk with Yoon for a brief moment.”

Kang Seunghyun’s light eyes straight away entangled onto Min Jaeyoon.

“I’ll be right there.”

Kang Seunghyun nodded his head barely visibly. However, it wasn’t an understanding face. As Kang Seunghyun grew slightly distant, Min Jaeyoon’s brow furrowed.

“Yoon-?”

Min Jaeyoon elongated his own name. Min Seonoh was grinning. Despite being two years younger, he called his name as he pleased.

“If you grow taller than me, I’ll treat you with respect.”

“You do know that I am twenty-eight years old right now, don’t you?”

Even God wouldn’t be able to make Min Jaeyoon’s height grow. So it sounded like he would call him that way for the rest of his life. As an Alpha, Min Seonoh regarded Min Jaeyoon, an Omega, as a person he had to protect according to his family’s teachings. However, perhaps because his enthusiasm was excessive, he repeatedly treated him as his subordinate.
