On the bus home from work, Seojeong pressed his tired eyes firmly with his fingers and leaned against the window. As he took in the scenery beyond the glass rushing past, the bus came to a stop before he knew it. It was the stop where Seojeong needed to get off.

With so many things to worry about, the day had been truly exhausting. Dragging his feet, Seojeong walked past the station area when his steps suddenly halted somewhere. It was in front of a dessert shop. He used to stop by here often on his way home from work to buy desserts. It was Cha Yoon’s favorite shop—contrary to his appearance, he enjoyed sweets quite a lot.

He should have just passed by. That would have been the right thing to do. Yet Ki Seojeong had already entered the shop. It felt as though he had been drawn in by something.

At the cheerful voice of the staff member, Seojeong snapped back to his senses as if waking from a dream. He looked around the shop and swallowed.

The first thing that caught his eye was chocolate. After a moment’s deliberation, Seojeong picked up a box of assorted chocolates and handed it to the staff member.

“I’d like this wrapped separately.”

“Yes, I’ll make it nice for you!”

“Thank you.”

With a smile back at the staff member whose cheeks had flushed, Seojeong looked around the store to see if there was anything else to buy. His gaze naturally drifted toward the macarons.

His fragile heart reacted even in a place like this. It wasn’t because of Cha Yoon—he was just buying snacks for the cast members to munch on. Ki Seojeong rationalized that to himself several times over as he picked up macarons. And yet, his basket ended up filled mostly with flavors that Cha Yoon had liked.

When Seojeong left the shop, both his hands were full of desserts.

“Oh, Mr. Seojeong! You’re here.”

At the voice laced with welcome, he looked up to find Seo Minha standing there. Seojeong, who had entered through the middle door, smiled and nodded in greeting.

As if responding to Minha’s words, a clattering commotion broke out somewhere. The source of that commotion was Cha Yoon.

Seojeong stood still and felt Cha Yoon’s gaze fixed on him. After a brief glance in his direction, Seojeong averted his eyes and headed into the kitchen. Then he set the macarons he had bought on the dining table.

The first to follow Ki Seojeong in was Cha Yoon. Truly the reflexes of a pilot. Cha Yoon pressed his lips tightly together and stared persistently at Ki Seojeong alone.

“Wow! What’s this?”

“Whoa, macarons!”

The other cast members flooded into the kitchen one after another. Their eyes lit up at the sight of the beautifully colored and flavored macarons. Everyone gathered around, examining the various flavors. Jeong Suho rolled up his sleeves and declared that he would take charge of the coffee, building up anticipation.

Among them, the only one not focused on the macarons was Cha Yoon. Cha Yoon was fixated on the other shopping bag that Ki Seojeong was still holding instead of setting down. It was clearly from the same dessert shop, so why was he still holding that one? Somehow, it left him with an uneasy feeling.

“Mr. Seojeong, what’s the matter?”

Yeo Jiyoon asked with wide eyes. Ki Seojeong didn’t bother to look around. For him, this wasn’t an action that carried any particular significance.

“Take this, Mr. Jiyoon.”

Ki Seojeong handed the shopping bag he had been holding all along to Yeo Jiyoon. Yeo Jiyoon’s lips parted slightly.

“Chocolates. For yesterday—thank you.”
