The Outsider Omega Wants to Be Alone! Chapter 10
Yuseong turned his back pointedly on Choi Jigu and sat down.
The boss and Kim Wooju both seemed surprised by Yuseong’s behavior, but Lee Yuseong, who had become a puffed-up pufferfish state, paid it no mind.
A special measure was simply needed to end this situation. Lee Yuseong opened his mouth.
“…If you keep talking about this subject, I think I’ll be uncomfortable.”
The eyes of all three except Yuseong rounded.
It was something he truly hadn’t wanted to say. For an introverted omega like Lee Yuseong, it was even more difficult to say in what was probably a field of alphas.
But he had no choice. If the person involved—himself—didn’t tie the knot, the situation would just continue.
Kim Wooju was the first to soften his expression and settle the situation.
“Alright. Since Yuseong might be put in an awkward position, let’s stop here. It’s late, too.”
“…Alright.”
The boss was dejected. The sight of a man with a huge frame curling up his body was like a rain-soaked bear.
He tried to offer a faint smile, but it seemed out of character, so he soon gave up. After saying he would head in first and giving a bow, Yuseong turned his back.
The night street was chilly. He stepped out of the entrance and walked three or four paces. Having been with boisterous people and then being alone, he finally relaxed as if he had returned to his rightful place.
“I’m tired…”
There was too much going on. Far too much. In the life of Lee Yuseong, who had always lived calmly, an excessively overwhelming amount of stimulation was flooding in like a tide.
His eyes felt dry and stiff, so he briefly took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.
Jingle. Behind him, he heard the sound of the cafe door opening and closing. Then he sensed someone’s presence.
Looks like someone else is getting off work. Having already finished all his goodbyes before coming out, Yuseong didn’t bother to turn around. He was about to quickly put his glasses back on and hasten his steps.
“Yuseong.”
The voice calling Yuseong rang out on the night street.
Let me go home, please. Yeah? Lee Yuseong decided to pretend not to hear it at first. Feigning ignorance, he naturally took a wide stride, but the voice called out to him again from behind. This time it was a louder voice.
“Lee Yuseong.”
Good lord… Lee Yuseong sighed deeply in his heart and stopped walking. When he turned around in an awkward posture, clutching his bag straps with both hands, the person standing in front of the shop entered his sight.
“Yes. Kim Wooju….”
Having hesitated over the title for a moment, Lee Yuseong belatedly attached the syllable.
“…hyung.”
The already slightly downturned eyes of the handsome man curved even more softly. He was a person who was not only good-looking but also pretty. An alpha more beautiful than an omega.
‘How can a man be that pretty.’
His face, bathed in the soft scarlet light of Momento’s entrance, looked even warmer and gentler.
Kim Wooju slowly walked over to Yuseong. The light illuminated Kim Wooju’s face, then his lightly colored hair, and then his back. As he drew closer, it felt as if the resolution was increasing and his eyes were being opened to the light. The light shining on him was like a halo.
“Pretty Yuseong, you worked hard today.”
Crash. Nothing was broken, but the sound of something shattering rang out inside Lee Yuseong’s head.
Along with the address ‘Pretty Yuseong,’ the words of the memo Kim Wooju had written for him earlier also flashed through his mind. Lee Yuseong jolted back to his senses.
‘What was that just now? Did I get mesmerized by this person’s face?’
Kaboom. Lee Yuseong received a mild culture shock. So the directing in novels and comics where someone is utterly transfixed by good looks and cannot move wasn’t just a fictional license. A real, existing person really could sweep away your senses completely.
Kim Wooju stopped right in front of Lee Yuseong. Lee Yuseong instinctively stepped one pace backward.
At Yuseong’s reaction, Kim Wooju tilted his head slightly and smiled. Somehow, even the strands of his hair were sparkling. The softly flowing shape was like watching a scene from a commercial.
“…I think it’s a little unfair.”
So Lee Yuseong ended up muttering without realizing it.
“Hm? What is?”
He thought ‘oops,’ but having started, it was Lee Yuseong’s nature to be honest and blurt it out. He finished speaking in a timid tone.
“Because I’m being told I’m pretty by a pretty person…”
Yes, it was truly unfair. Whatever Kim Wooju’s intent had been in writing that memo, it was terribly unfair. A person with a face like this calling him pretty. It was exactly like he was being made fun of.
Once his thoughts reached that point, Yuseong’s face puffed up again like an angry pufferfish.
Feeling quite wronged, he let go of his bag straps, unfolded his index and middle fingers to show, and asserted.
“Twice, too.”
“What?”
Having heard Yuseong’s words, Kim Wooju let out a puff of breath and burst into low laughter. Somehow, even his low, resonating voice was handsome.
Embarrassed, Yuseong’s ears turned red. The fingers he had been holding up confidently curled on their own.
“…Why are you laughing?”
“Ah, I’m pretty?”
Kim Wooju touched the corner of his own mouth and lowered his head slightly. At their gazes becoming level, Yuseong reflexively pulled his head back, too.
“…”
Why is he asking me this right now? If you grabbed a thousand random people walking down the street and asked, every single one of them would say Kim Wooju is pretty.
“You are pretty.”
“Aha, I see. So in Yuseong’s eyes, I look pretty?”
Yuseong’s eyes rounded. Isn’t he talking a bit strangely, this person?
“No, that’s not it. If you grabbed any passerby and asked, they’d all…”
“Mm-hmm, to that extent, I look pretty in Yuseong’s eyes.”
Lee Yuseong, who had been gaping stupidly, shut his mouth firmly. His eyes instantly became triangles.
Staring at Lee Yuseong, who had once again become a puffed-up pufferfish state and swollen up, Kim Wooju ruffled the top of his head. As his large hand wrapped all around Lee Yuseong’s head at once and swept over it messily, Lee Yuseong, not knowing what to do, lifted both hands into the air.
“What, are you surrendering?”
“No, that’s not it. Your hand.”
“I’ve felt this since I first saw you—Yuseong, you’re really cute.”
Lee Yuseong’s hands curled up in midair, unable to do this or that. Amidst this, Kim Wooju was still stroking Lee Yuseong’s hair as if in quite a good mood.
Thinking he couldn’t take it anymore, Lee Yuseong retreated two steps backward.
“…Please keep this much distance.”
Kim Wooju, looking at his own now-empty hand, pushed it into his pocket. A loose smile hung at the corner of his mouth.
“Sure. Let’s do that.”
He acquiesced willingly. He didn’t seem offended at all. Lee Yuseong, who had been worried that he might be acting rudely to someone who was, after all, a hyung, was inwardly relieved.
“But why…”
He meant, why had he followed him out. Even though his sentence trailed off, Kim Wooju grasped the meaning perfectly and held out a package to Lee Yuseong.
“Here, this. Take it.”
It was a brown paper bag package of substantial appearance. Yuseong, who had just been blinking, accepted the bag politely with both hands.
“Thank you.”
“Without even asking what it is?”
“…Uh, well. You gave me something, so, thank you… What is it?”
Yuseong, who had been rolling his lips and fumbling, looked down at the package and carefully asked. He, too, was extremely curious about the contents, but somehow it felt embarrassing to open it in front of the giver.
Judging by the fact that it weighed less than he expected and had square corners, it seemed to contain a paper box.
“Our Yuseong, you like tiramisu, don’t you?”
“…How did you know!”
A surprised voice burst out unconsciously. Did that mean what was inside here was tiramisu?
“Every time you passed by the showcase, Yuseong’s eyes kept going there.”
“Ah…”
Lee Yuseong’s eyes wavered greatly. He’d been caught!
“Our tiramisu is delicious and famous. The boss studied abroad in Italy, and he uses that recipe exactly to make it himself every day.”
No wonder the color had looked so lovely. Even in the midst of this, his mouth instantly watered.
“Yuseong, take it and eat it.”
