Flower Fiancé Chapter 112

Regret washed over him—he should have just brought him to the hospital sooner. Trusting Ji Yeonwoo’s words that he was fine, he’d hesitated, and now he worried that something might go wrong in the meantime, when the door opened. The hospital director and vice-director came in.

“Have the test results come out?”

Choi Moohyuk stood up and asked, approaching the hospital director.

“Yes. There were no major abnormalities found in the tests.”

“Did you also check the pheromone levels?”

“As you can see, they are all normal.”

Hearing the hospital director’s reply, Choi Moohyuk could not hide his puzzled expression.

“Then, why on earth…”

He muttered, looking at Ji Yeonwoo as if he couldn’t understand, and the hospital director and vice-director glanced at each other as if gauging the situation.

“Truly, did you not know?”

The hospital director asked tactfully. Choi Moohyuk frowned and turned to look at the director.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

The hospital director glanced at the vice-director, cleared his throat with a cough, and continued.

“…It’s pregnancy.”

“…!”

Hearing those words, Choi Moohyuk flinched and froze. His eyes, already as wide as they could go, stared blankly before he asked again.

“What did you just say? Pregnancy…?”

“Yes. Currently, he is about eight weeks along. It appears to be about two months.”

Two months? Choi Moohyuk squinted his eyes, turned around, and looked at Ji Yeonwoo.

‘Two months ago would overlap with the honeymoon period…!’

Instantly, he recalled spending his rut together with Ji Yeonwoo at the end of the honeymoon.

‘Could it have been back then?’

Going through a rut alone already increased the chances of pregnancy, and on top of that, they had even had unprotected sex without a condom.

“Morning sickness doesn’t suddenly become severe. The symptoms appear gradually, so if it was severe enough to cause collapse, we estimate that the symptoms began about one to two weeks ago. That is why we assumed that you, as the representative, were already aware.”

Choi Moohyuk, looking at Ji Yeonwoo who seemed to have fallen asleep as if fainted with a wavering gaze, let out a low sigh. If there were no other abnormalities and the only reason was pregnancy, it might actually be a relief.

“Is everything else alright?”

“Pardon?”

At the sudden question, the hospital director asked back, looking flustered. Choi Moohyuk loosened his tie, which was choking him, and continued.

“I’m asking whether Mr. Yeonwoo’s current physical condition is stable enough to maintain the pregnancy.”

“Ah, yes. As I mentioned, the pheromone levels are all stable. Beyond having fully recovered, he actually shows higher pheromone levels than a typical dominant omega. Of course, pregnancy makes it difficult to predict exactly what will happen in the future, but as of now, there is no issue with pheromones affecting the pregnancy.”

“…Understood. Since it’s late today, we’ll stay overnight and he’ll be discharged tomorrow, so please prepare accordingly.”

“Yes. Then please rest comfortably, and if you need anything, feel free to contact the desk at any time.”

“We’ll call if there are any abnormalities. Until then, I’d prefer no one enters.”

“We’ll do that.”

After finishing the briefing, the hospital director and vice-director left the room. Choi Moohyuk, having completely loosened his tie and holding it in his hand, sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Ji Yeonwoo.

As he gazed at the face, relaxed in sleep, the closed eyelids trembled slightly.

“Yeonwoo.”

Choi Moohyuk paused, then sat up and carefully took Ji Yeonwoo’s hand. Ji Yeonwoo, frowning with a crease between his brows, stirred and slowly opened his eyes.

“…Mr. Moohyuk. This is…”

Looking around, Ji Yeonwoo realized that where he was lying was not home.

“It’s a hospital. Sunwoo General Hospital. Do you remember?”

“I remember up to you putting me in the car, but after that…”

Ji Yeonwoo, blinking his eyes slowly, furrowed his brow and let out a small sigh. Like someone under hypnosis, his memories of the previous night were fragmented. He remembered throwing up, slumping down in the bathroom, and Choi Moohyuk finding him like that and holding him, but he couldn’t recall much after that.

Had he passed out? As he thought this, Ji Yeonwoo suddenly tried to recall the cause of his sudden illness. It wasn’t as if he had forced himself to eat or overindulged. He briefly considered whether it might be a pheromone issue, but he hadn’t had any difficulty regulating his pheromones lately, so he ruled that out too. Then why… After a short moment of doubt, Seo Eungyeom’s words came to mind.

‘Foods I normally ate well didn’t agree with me, and instead, I craved things I never used to touch. I heard most people with morning sickness can’t eat well and throw up a lot, but I was eating so well I didn’t even notice.’

He didn’t know why Seo Eungyeom’s words suddenly came to mind in this situation. But once a thought crossed his mind, it didn’t easily fade away.

Staring at the ceiling with a wavering, trembling gaze, Ji Yeonwoo slowly opened his mouth.

“Why was I sick?”

If tests had been conducted as soon as they arrived at the hospital, the results might already be out.

“Perhaps…”

So, wouldn’t Choi Moohyuk know?

Ji Yeonwoo looked at him and hesitantly opened his mouth.

“Am I pregnant?”

A surprised expression flickered across Choi Moohyuk’s face.

Ji Yeonwoo let out the breath he had been holding back. So it was true. It really was.

“…Did you know?”

Choi Moohyuk brushed back his sweat-damp hair and asked, as if wondering why he hadn’t said anything.

“I just had a hunch. The auntie’s words, and what Eungyeom said also bothered me… Oh, and Eungyeom is pregnant too. He said he’s twelve weeks. I met him earlier today.”

“Mr. Eungyeom too?”

“Yes. But Eungyeom just said he felt queasy. Mine was worse than that—I thought I had indigestion. Ah, I never imagined it would actually be pregnancy…”

Ji Yeonwoo trailed off with a low sigh and leaned his face against Choi Moohyuk’s hand.

He knew he shouldn’t think this way, but sometimes the thought suddenly occurred to him that he might never be able to have a child.

It all started after he went for a thorough examination and was told he could absolutely never get pregnant. Situationally, things were clearly different now, and he had fully recovered his pheromones, but strangely, what the attending physician had said at the time remained strongly imprinted in his memory and wouldn’t go away.

“Did they say there were no other abnormalities?”

“I asked just in case, and they said there were no pheromone issues. They said morning sickness could be severe, so if it gets too hard, don’t endure it and just come straight to the hospital for admission.”

Choi Moohyuk brushed his hair aside and caressed his cheek, which had become rough in just half a day. Ji Yeonwoo languidly closed his eyes and lightly rubbed his face against that hand. There were so many things he wanted to ask, but as those fingers brushed against his skin, he naturally found himself thinking, well, that must be how it is, and his mind followed along.

“We’ll sleep here tonight and leave tomorrow, so don’t think about it anymore and get some good rest.”

“What about you, Mr. Moohyuk?”

“Don’t worry about me.”

After lightly pressing his lips to his forehead, Choi Moohyuk pulled the slipped blanket back up to cover his chest. Ji Yeonwoo, gripping the edge of the blanket with both hands, glanced at the closed door. No matter how luxurious the private ward, it was still a hospital, so there was no separate locking mechanism.

Pulling the blanket up further to cover his chin and lips, Ji Yeonwoo peeked out with only his eyes and spoke.

“Is anyone else coming? Like a doctor or a nurse?”

“Probably not. I told them not to come in unless called. Why do you ask?”

As soon as he heard the answer, Ji Yeonwoo fidgeted and shifted his body.

“Then, do you want to come up next to me?”

He lifted the blanket and lightly patted the empty space with his hand.

“The bed is big and it feels empty.”

Choi Moohyuk smiled, lifting one corner of his lips, and took off his jacket, popping open a couple of the buttons that choked his neck. As he placed one leg on the bed, the mattress sank under his weight.

“When you tempt me like that, how can I resist.”

Obediently following his request, Choi Moohyuk slipped his arm under Ji Yeonwoo’s head, pulled him into an embrace, and drew him close. Ji Yeonwoo, snuggling into his arms, wrapped his arms around his waist and rubbed his face against his firm chest. At the faint sensation of his pheromones, a languid smile spread across his face involuntarily.

“Let out a little more pheromone. It’s too tantalizing.”

As soon as the words ended, a large hand stroked the back of his head and pulled him even closer into his embrace.

“Is this enough?”
