Flower Fiancé Chapter 116

Author: nicotine

Choi Geon boasted a full head of hair so thick that from birth, only his hair was visible. And as time gradually passed, he grew into an incredibly adorable child with fair skin and big, lively eyes.

The living room, which had been minimalist and sparse compared to its spacious size, was now filled with all sorts of baby supplies. A bouncer, a walker, a small sleeping area set up by the window so they could nap together, and various toys.

Half of these were bought by Chairman Choi, and the other half by Ji Yeonwoo’s parents. Even though they said it was fine, his parents, who had laid eyes on their first grandchild, were beside themselves with adoration.

Ji Yeonwoo carefully held Geon, who had just woken from his nap, in his arms. Geon, who had slept soundly and just woken up, stared straight into Ji Yeonwoo’s eyes and smiled brightly.

Choi Moohyuk, who had been standing by and watching, opened his eyes wide as if in wonder. Exchanging glances with Ji Yeonwoo, Choi Moohyuk cautiously touched Geon’s chubby cheek with his index finger. Then, when Geon reached out with his hand wrapped in a mitten and grabbed his index finger, Geon gripped Choi Moohyuk’s finger tightly.

“Oh? Look at this. Geon grabbed Daddy’s finger.”

“Indeed. Our son has quite the grip.”

Choi Moohyuk smiled as he looked at Geon, who wouldn’t let go of his index finger.

“Geon-ah. It’s Daddy. Say Daddy.”

Watching him play with Geon, shaking his hand lightly while his finger was still caught in that tiny grip, laughter bubbled up involuntarily. The scene felt just like a picture from a fairy tale. Ji Yeonwoo, watching the two of them with shimmering eyes, sniffled softly.

There was a time that felt like a dream. Even when he had fully recovered from pheromone deficiency and conceived Choi Moohyuk’s child, it hadn’t quite felt real. Only after holding Geon in his arms did he truly realize that this happiness was real.

Ji Yeonwoo carefully cradled Geon, who still wouldn’t let go of Choi Moohyuk’s finger, in his arms.

“Hello, Geon. We’ll be your wonderful daddies.”

Ji Yeonwoo, pressing a kiss to Geon’s chubby cheek as he smiled broadly, laughed while crying.

A dim darkness settled over the spacious living room. In the time when everyone was asleep, the living room, bathed in a bluish light, was quiet.

The bathroom door opened with a soft sound. Choi Moohyuk, wearing a long robe-style shower gown, walked out. Standing on the rug, he shook his wet hair, then lifted his chin and looked at the clock hanging on the wall.

6:23 AM.

In the quiet living room, where not even a sign of life could be heard, only the rustling sound of drying his hair with a towel echoed softly.

Choi Moohyuk pressed his tired eyes. Since becoming the representative, there had been many matters to handle both inside and outside the company. With work piling up, he naturally found himself coming home at dawn and leaving again at dawn frequently.

It would be a lie to say he wasn’t tired, but even so, he could endure it because he had a lovely family.

Putting the wet towel in the laundry basket, Choi Moohyuk opened the door at the far end of the living room. Dim light seeped into the bedroom, where the blackout curtains created a deep darkness.

On the extra-large, custom-made king-size bed, he could see a raised silhouette. Because he was sleeping on his side, the curved line from his shoulders to his hips traced a sinuous contour, and Choi Moohyuk found a smile spreading across his lips without realizing it.

“You’re sleeping well. Sorry to wake you.”

Ji Yeonwoo lay sprawled out, half-burying his face in the pillow. His languid sleeping form was truly angelic.

Choi Moohyuk gently brushed aside the hair covering his forehead. Though he felt sorry to wake him as he slept soundly, it was about time for Ji Yeonwoo to get up. Checking the time once more by looking at the clock on the bedside table, Choi Moohyuk placed one knee on the bed. He gently stroked the hair spilling over the pillow.

“Yeonwoo.”

Calling out to Ji Yeonwoo, who was sleeping oblivious to the world, he rubbed his soft, plump cheek with the back of his hand.

“Mr. Ji Yeonwoo.”

As he gently touched his fluffy hair, the scent of shampoo spread out. Mixed within it was also the sweet peach-scented pheromone. The hand that had been combing through his tangled hair slid down and caressed his cheek.

“It’s time to wake up now.”

Even as one side of the mattress sank deeply, he took hold of the sleeping Ji Yeonwoo’s shoulder and gently turned him. When he still showed no sign of waking, Choi Moohyuk climbed fully onto the mattress and leaned over Ji Yeonwoo, who was lying flat. Pressing down with his heavy weight, Ji Yeonwoo finally let out a small “Mm,” a soft groan, and a crease formed between his brows.

Long fingers pressed and smoothed out the furrow between his brows. As Ji Yeonwoo turned his face to avoid the touch in his sleep, Choi Moohyuk followed and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

At that, the thin body trapped in his arms paused, and one eye opened as if squinting. Barely opening his eyes and looking up, Ji Yeonwoo relaxed into a lazy smile only after confirming it was Choi Moohyuk.

“Mmm, you’re heavy.”

Ji Yeonwoo grunted as he tried to push away the thick chest pressing down on his upper body. His voice, husky with sleep, cracked roughly at the edges.

Seeing that, Choi Moohyuk propped himself up on his elbows, lifting his body off him. Ji Yeonwoo finally took a deep breath, and the sight was so endearing that a smile spread across his lips.

“Is it okay if you sleep in?”

“What time is it now?”

“A little past 6:30.”

Ji Yeonwoo, who had been blinking his eyes open and shut, seemed to come to his senses and forced one eye wide open.

“Oh, really?”

“Didn’t you say the flowers are coming in today?”

“Right. They’ll come around 8, so mm, if I get ready and leave quickly, the timing will be perfect.”

Even as he said that, Ji Yeonwoo was still fighting off the overwhelming drowsiness. The face he made as he struggled to force his heavy eyelids open was nothing short of adorable. Choi Moohyuk stroked Ji Yeonwoo’s soft cheek and then gave him a kiss.

It was Ji Yeonwoo who had first suggested reopening <Flower Fiancé>. It happened because he had happened to pass by and noticed that the baby supply store that had opened in the spot where <Flower Fiancé> used to be had failed to survive the economic downturn and was now up for lease. As it happened, he had also heard from the madam and Choi Moohyuk that it might be a good idea to start working again, so Ji Yeonwoo had spent a long time deliberating on his own.

No matter how much the madam was there to help, considering the childcare for Geon, he thought it might be too soon to decide. But everything has its timing, and he knew well that reopening <Flower Fiancé> in that same spot was an opportunity that might never come again.

After much deliberation, weighing family circumstances against his personal desires, Ji Yeonwoo made up his mind. Late one night, when the two of them were alone drinking wine, he brought it up.

He wanted to run the flower shop again.

Geon was already 11 months old, almost reaching his first birthday, and it seemed like there would be no other chance if not now. When he cautiously asked for their opinions, the madam was overjoyed. Choi Moohyuk was also happier than anyone about Ji Yeonwoo’s decision, and he not only purchased the commercial space that was up for lease but bought the entire building and gave it to Ji Yeonwoo as a gift. Even though they were legally married, it involved enormous taxes and additional costs for transferring the building, but Choi Moohyuk didn’t mind the loss at all.

Supported by Choi Moohyuk’s solid backing, Ji Yeonwoo took a step forward into the world again and ran the shop with even more passion than before. Since it was a reopening after about two years of rest, he worked hard to promote <Flower Fiancé> through various methods, starting with social media marketing.

Although the madam was there, he couldn’t neglect taking care of Geon, so he repeatedly worked while keeping in touch with the madam intermittently. Some days, he would leave for work at the same time as Choi Moohyuk and come home even later. Days like today—when flowers arrived once a week—were exactly like that.

“Aren’t you overworking yourself these days? I’m worried you’ll get sick.”

Choi Moohyuk spoke with concern, stroking his tired-looking under-eyes and caressing his cheeks. Ji Yeonwoo winked one eye and gave him a playful glance.

“I don’t think someone who works late every single day is in a position to say that.”

“That’s because I’m the boss…”

“I’m a boss too.”
