Deflower Me If You Can Chapter 1
“You’re not a Miller.”
At the child’s firm words, Bliss immediately glared fiercely with both eyes.
“What are you talking about, you shit-for-brains. If I’m not a Miller, then what am I?”
He thrust his face forward at the boy much larger than himself as if about to lunge at him and demanded an answer, but the boy, far from shrinking back, snorted and repeated the same words once more.
“You’re not a Miller.”
“You bastard!”
This won’t do. For spouting stupid nonsense, a beating is the best answer. No more talking—this will take its place. Just as Bliss was about to swing his tightly clenched fist with force, one of the group standing behind the guy shouted urgently.
“All Millers have purple eyes!”
In that instant, Bliss faltered. Seeing Bliss’s fist stopped in midair, the guy, as if gaining confidence, yelled out loud.
“That’s right, you don’t have purple eyes. You’re clearly some kid they picked up.”
Following that, the other boys began shouting in unison.
“Stop acting like you’re a Miller when you’re a fake!”
“You’re not even a Miller!”
“You’re a fake, a liar, a fraud!”
These bastards.
Fury surged up in Bliss, but there were too many of them. When five or six guys surrounded him and raised a clamor, even someone called ‘Bliss Miller’ found it hard to readily punish them. More than anything, the words ‘All Millers have purple eyes’ kept seizing his fist. Truthfully, it was something that had been nagging at his own mind for a while now. But to point that out was cowardly. Bad bastards, despicable jerks.
“I’m a Miller!”
At the shout he let out with all his might, the boys surrounding Bliss flinched for a moment. Without missing that opening, Bliss kept on shouting.
“Not purple eyes? Fine. Watch carefully, you morons!”
Immediately, Bliss rolled his eyes fiercely and raised his tightly clenched fist.
“I’ll make them purple right now!”
Then, before the guys could do anything, Bliss’s fist flew toward a completely unexpected place. Following a thud sound, the startled boys gasped, their breaths hissing inward.
“Uwaaah! Wh-what’s with this bastard!”
The guy standing at the very front turned pale and screamed, but Bliss paid no attention and continued to beat one of his own eyes wildly, making ‘thwack, thwack’ sounds. The guys who saw this went white with shock, not knowing what to do, and soon began shrieking.
“Cra-crazy, crazy son of a bitch!”
“Uwaah, this bastard’s insane!”
“Move, move out of the way! Mom!”
“Uwaaang! Scary, Mom, Mom!”
The guys raised a ruckus and scattered in all directions, fleeing. Seeing this, Bliss chased after them at full speed.
“You cowardly bastards! Won’t you stop right there? I said stop, all of you!”
As he zigzagged through the adults at the party chasing them, he kept hitting his own eye.
“Hey, look! I said look! Is it still not purple? Even now? Even now?”
“Uwaak, uwaaaak!”
“I said look, you bad bastards! Look! It’s purple!”
“Uwaaang, don’t come near me, don’t come near me!”
While he was chasing the crying, fleeing kids like a mad dog, someone suddenly blocked his path.
“Hey, oof!”
Bliss, who had been running while hitting his eye, crashed his face into the man’s leg and tumbled backward. Right at the brink of smashing his head straight into the ground, the man caught the back of his head in the nick of time and averted the crisis.
“Oh dear, are you alright?”
At the calm voice heard above his head, Bliss felt momentarily dazed. His head had gone blank from the impact of the collision, and he needed a bit more time to grasp the situation. The man, who had knelt on one knee and was cradling Bliss’s head with a large hand, spoke worriedly.
“You’re not hurt anywhere, are you? Does it hurt anywhere?”
“Uh, uh.”
Belatedly recalling what had just happened, Bliss hastily righted his body and looked around. The boys had already run away and were gone. Thinking that he had let them slip away right before his eyes, he felt dejected on one hand and furious on the other.
“Tch…”
If it hadn’t been for this man, I wouldn’t have lost those bastards.
Thinking that, Bliss whipped his head around but soon stopped short the moment his eyes met the man’s. Thick, dark brown hair was neatly combed, and below it a smooth forehead was visible. The man wore glasses, and perched on his attractive nose bridge, they made his appearance look even more intellectual. As Bliss stared blankly for a moment at the dark, nearly black eyes gazing at him, the man gave a faint smile and asked.
“Did you lose the person you were chasing because of me?”
The gentle voice sounded on one hand as if he were teasing, but Bliss answered with a serious face.
“No, I was chasing those bastards to punish them for making fun of me.”
“Really? What could they have said to tease a cute kid like you?”
The man spoke with a smile again. He didn’t forget to tap Bliss’s cheek lightly with his second finger. Bliss felt anger rising at why this man was toying with him like this, but the man, oblivious, added.
“Maybe they wanted to get closer because you’re cute?”
At those words, instead of answering, Bliss punched his own eye again. Thwack. As if to say, go on, dare spout that nonsense one more time.
“…Oh.”
As expected, the man let out an exclamation as if flustered for the first time. Only then seeming to realize the gravity of the situation, he smiled and apologized.
“Alright, I’m sorry. How about you stop hitting your eye? It’s a rare cute face; isn’t it a waste?”
“Hmph.”
Instead of answering, Bliss struck his eye hard once more. The man’s mouth was still smiling, but his eyes were not. Hmm, he murmured, stroking his chin with one hand, and then spoke up in a still calm voice.
“Well then, I’ll be going now. Goodbye, enjoy your evening.”
As the man lightly ruffled Bliss’s hair and readily rose to his feet, his height stretched out endlessly. Feeling as though he were looking at Papa or his oldest brother Nathaniel, Bliss swallowed his breath, but the man soon turned and disappeared among the people.
“Huff, huff.”
Before he knew it, the surroundings had grown quiet. Coming to his senses, Bliss found himself left alone. Even with one eye bruised black and blue, he heaved his shoulders, breathing roughly as if his anger still hadn’t subsided, and clenched both fists tightly.
“How dare anyone pick a fight with me? I’m Bliss Miller!”
By now, no one was around. Wiping his nose with his arm, Bliss proudly lifted his head and looked around. Nearby, only unfamiliar adults were gathered in small groups chatting. Papa and Daddy were nowhere to be seen, let alone his other brothers.
Cowardly bastards.
Just as he thought. They saw Bliss was alone and seized the chance to pick a fight. But he was not a Bliss Miller who would fall for such petty tricks. Not knowing their place, daring to come at me.
Did they think I’d just take it because I’m alone? By now they’ve probably learned their lesson.
‘It’s a rare cute face; isn’t it a waste?’
The man from earlier suddenly came to mind. Come to think of it, his pronunciation was strange. It was English he had never heard before. Why did he speak like that? Just as he was tilting his head in wonder—
“Bliss, there you are.”
Suddenly, he heard a voice calling him from behind. The expression on Bliss’s face, who had whipped his head around, instantly brightened.
“Papa! Daddy!”
He scurried over and leaped right into the arms of Papa, who was waiting with one knee down and arms spread wide. Daddy, who like Papa had his arms open waiting for him, wore a disappointed expression all over his face and muttered.
“Bliss, I was the one who called you…”
As if endlessly sad that the youngest son didn’t come into his arms, Daddy drooped the corners of his mouth and gazed at Bliss. But there was no time for Bliss to say anything. The moment Daddy saw the child’s face, he immediately shouted in alarm.
