His Breeding Obsession Chapter 119 - Escape
“Why do you think so?” asked Mirania
The servant didn’t hesitate to answer, “Because Master is the strongest! Even if Adensha, as the humans call her, comes back alive, she will be no match for Master.”
“…”
“Even now, who would have thought that the world would turn out like this? I never dreamed that the races would be unified in this way, and I’m still stunned that this is possible with the power of one being.”
“…Hmph.”
“Master is so… scary and amazing.”
The young servant, who hadn’t even reached adulthood for five years, muttered with a dreamy expression.
Mirania muttered softly, “You never fail to use the word scary.”
What the hell was he doing wandering around?
“What?”
“Nothing.”
Mirania glared, and the servant shook his head in confusion.
Chirrup, Gulp—
Before she knew it, she’d finished her chocolate and the cup was empty. Mirania sighed.
She thought the imperial palace was boring and tedious, but this chocolate latte was the real deal.
‘Strange, how do they make this delicious stuff?’
Licking her tongue across her lips to remove the sweet taste, Mirania handed the servant her empty cup.
“You’d better get out of here. I need to sleep.”
Mirania slipped back into bed, wearing the jeweled eye patch that Grecan had left behind.
“For dinner, I’ll make your favorite bacon cheese soup, Lady Mirania.
“Sure.”
Thud—
As soon as the door closed, Mirania’s eyes fluttered open from behind her eye patch. She pulled the blindfold off and sat up.
Her eyes were fixed out the wide-open window.
She pretended not to pay attention when the servant spoke, but her mind was flashing red with information, ‘Grecan will be arriving late today.’
It’s been a long time coming, but at last, I’ve left the Imperial Palace. I sneaked a peek at the entrance gate just in case.
Sigh~
‘Tsk, it’s closed.’
I clicked my tongue. Once the gates are closed, they won’t open unless a servant with a key opens them.
That was the realization after all the failed attempts.
But where was the only way out?
Sigh~
Mirania’s gaze traveled to the window.
Whistling!
The wind was blowing hard. Her silvery hair ruffled in the breeze as she stuck her head out.
The street was deserted, perhaps because Grecan was away.
Mirania wasted no time and leaped out the window. The wind gathered beneath her feet.
Once her feet touched the ground, Mirania let out a muffled gasp.
She glanced around, then crept away. She sought a path less traveled by the people. Her heart was racing, but her steps were slow.
It was then.
Thud, thud, thud—
A passing servant spotted her and approached.
“What?”
Blink—
Mirania looked up at him innocently.
“Good afternoon, Lady Mirania. Are you going for a walk?”
“Yes.”
“Would you like me to join you?”
“I’m just walking around with no destination, so you go about your business.”
The servant gave her a curt bow and passed by without question.
She kept her guard up until the last minute in case Grecan showed up, but he was so far gone that she didn’t see a hair of him until she crossed the last wall of the palace.
Mirania made her way out of the palace that way.
Even as she left, she never thought of herself as fleeing.
‘A strategic retreat.’
Most of all, she was thrilled to not have to see Grecan, who was an unpleasant sight.

【Escape】
‘I’ve tested my abilities in various ways while I’ve been imprisoned, and to my dismay, I’ve found them to be abysmal.’
Whereas previously I could harness my magic to drive clouds and make it rain, now I could barely make water to drink.
Mirania’s constantly tongue-in-cheek, but the good news was that not all of her powers were gone.
‘My witchcraft is limited due to my diminished power, but I have not lost my natural rapport with nature, which is a great relief.’
And right now, that unique ability is being put to good use.
One of the sub-abilities of natural affinity was nature assimilation.
‘Nature Assimilation.’
A magical concoction that, when mixed with nature, makes it impossible to tell if that’s a tree and that’s me, or if that’s a stone and that’s me.
‘The only downside is that if I move, I’ll be seen… oh dear.’
Having used nature assimilation to avoid detection many times before, crouching against stone walls or in wooden stilts when necessary, Mirania faced an unexpected crisis as soon as she left the ecliptic.
‘There’s nowhere to hide. Why is this happening.’
In her memories, she thought there was a path leading to a mountain on this side, but it was empty.
The mountain had been swept away by a large explosive, the rounded and pointed shapes had been flattened, and the once lush green vegetation was nowhere to be seen.
There were only piles of stones here and there, and people who didn’t know the reason for their presence.
There were nearly twenty of them.
Mirania frowned as she counted them.
‘If this goes wrong, there are going to be witnesses, and that’s not good.’
Then it happened.
Rumble, rumble, rumbling—
A strange-looking iron carriage rolled across the land, Mirania was watching and stopped.
There were more than a dozen of them in a row.
Mirania ducked behind a pile of rubble.
A white-haired man stepped out of the carriage door and spread his wings.
‘Aren’t those wings, Zoin?’
It was a clan that even Mirania had only seen a few times, as they were a rare race, hunted to the brink of extinction like Alice.
Taking to the skies, the Zoin raised a communicator to his mouth and barked out a command in a relatively high-pitched voice for a man.
“Okay, we’re going to make a forest here, guys. You’ve done it a few times now, so I don’t have to explain it to you. You’re going to plant the saplings by pounding them into the ground!”
Seeing the familiarity in his command, Mirania realized something.
— “I was chosen by Lord Hakan. He’s a trusted henchman who serves our Master. He’s a Zoin. Likewise, he’s in charge of most of the servants and knows everything, so we all have to listen to him.”
‘Is that Hakan?’
I wonder what he’s trying to plant in a land where there’s nothing.
‘Is he trying to rebuild the forest again?’
Mirania’s face was colored with doubt as she looked at the scars of destruction.
“There should be flowers and trees, lots and lots of trees!”
The city must be rebuilt. Mirania clicked her tongue in disappointment.
‘It’s always easy to destroy, but hard to put back together again. I know it won’t be easy, but it’s for the best.’
Though I wish it hadn’t happened in the first place, I’m glad to hear that it’s been corrected.
Mirania, who had been feeling sorry for the ruined landscape, felt a little better.
“Oh!”
A laborer was planting a sapling in a pit. It was quite large.
‘That’s right.’
Mirania quickly clung to the sapling while the workers were distracted.
“Huh?”
A weary-looking worker turned his head to look at the tree, his face puzzled.
The leaves of the tree swayed as the wind blew. Mirania’s face and body moved naturally with the swaying of the leaves.
The will to move breaks the art of assimilation.
The body that has the will to assimilate moves in accordance with its surroundings and blends in with the environment.
That was the essence of nature assimilation.
Without noticing any abnormalities, the worker moved on to another sapling.
Hakan, who had been watching the workers from above, came down and chewed on an apple.
He happened to be standing right where Mirania was aiming for.
Mirania eyed Hakan’s empty back, waiting for her chance.
Just then, someone tripped while moving a sapling.
“Hey! You’re not doing that right, do you realize how hard it was to bring that one tree here? If it breaks, can you bring it back?”
Milania quickly moved behind Hakan while the worker glared at her.
The small size of the sapling she was hiding made her feel a little uneasy, but thankfully no one seemed to notice.
“What the hell is this?”
Hakan’s voice drifted into Milania’s ear as he sighed and muttered a complaint through the crunch of an apple.
“I hope you’re well on your way, but I should be here to keep an eye on you.”
Mirania was about to walk away, leaving him muttering to himself, when an unwelcome voice pierced her ears.
“I don’t know, that woman. If she’s living like an Empress in the crystal chamber… what the hell is her relationship with the Master?”
Hakan turned his head. In the direction of the sapling where Mirania was hiding.
She clung to the tiny sapling, her body swaying slightly with the movement of its leaves.
{This scent is so refreshing… are you the High Witch?}
The young tree greeted her, oblivious to her situation.
{What are you doing here, anyway?}
{…}
{Are you dancing?}
A sentence that would have caused a serious tilt of its head had it been a human. Mirania pretended not to hear.
