At least he had a good sense of humor.

Inside, I was trying to figure out what to do with him.

Carson announced that it was time for the highlight of the festival.

“Anne, the Miss Arena will begin in a few minutes.”

“Oh, yeah, well, I’m done sightseeing, so I’ll have a good seat to watch.”

“If you’re in a hurry, do you want to teleport?”

Without thinking, I nodded, then smirked when I suddenly noticed his outstretched hand.

Teleportation requires physical contact. I’d pretended to like it when we were running away earlier.

I was tempted to take Carson’s hand, but the thought of him wanting it so badly sent my heart racing.

“Why? We have plenty of time, let’s walk slowly.”

“…Sure.”

His voice was subtly subdued as he lowered his hand with a stern face.

Ah, this was so funny.

I stifled a chuckle and thought about sneaking up on him, now that I’d teased him once.

“Hey…”

At the sound of an unfamiliar voice, I turned to see a man and blabber girl standing together.

My mind was about to pretend to recognize ‘blabber‘, but then I remembered that I had just cast a transformation spell on my face and asked.

“Can I help you?”

I don’t think she recognized my face. I didn’t expect him to talk to me.

Not only that, but I’m glad I’d already taken off my name tag for the sake of complete disguise.

Unexpectedly, it wasn’t blabber, but the man, who took a step toward me.

Then, looking a little nervous, he parted his lips.

“I was wondering if you might happen to know the lady’s name?”

“My name?”

I replied, thinking it was the first time anyone had asked for my name today.

“And why do you ask?”

“If I tell you that your style is my taste, will not like it?”

“What?”

I was too stunned to think of a response and froze on the spot.

Oh…

What did I just hear, a new way of attempting self-destruction?

It was the last thing I expected to hear when I was with Carson.

Neither did he, because it’s already common knowledge in the Academy that he likes me.

It’s not a rumor that Carson wanted to spread, but somehow it had the same effect as the spit.

It seemed to be a side effect of the face-transforming magic.

I squinted at Carson, and sure enough, the fumes were rising around his body.

Quickly, I raised my hand and clamped it over Carson’s mouth. I didn’t know what he would do if I left him alone.

In as polite but firm a voice as I could muster, I said no.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t give you my name, I have a boyfriend.”

The man’s gaze fell on Carson.

“This is your boyfriend?”

I hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

Well, I figured, maybe it’s okay since I’m just trying to get rid of him.

“Yep. He’s my boyfriend.”

The man I thought was going to walk away tilted his head, puzzled.

“Hmm. But after all that, you haven’t even made out with him, and the vibe is more like friends than lovers.”

That was a sharp point.

Should I retort that being in a relationship doesn’t necessarily mean making out? Honestly, he’s not wrong.

I just thought it would be quicker to show him…

Sigh~

I smirked, throwing my arm around Carson’s waist.

“So, babe, what do you think of him doubting our relationship?”

Taking the gesture as a challenge, I squeezed Carson’s arm. But he didn’t take my cue and said nothing.

‘Please, say something.’

Oops…

The man’s eyes were already narrowing in suspicion as Carson didn’t answer.

It was then.

“Come out! What are you doing, ugly? She has a boyfriend! Even if he’s not her boyfriend, don’t you know that’s a rejection? Shame on you!”

It was ‘blabber‘ who pushed the man away with a vicious shove. She pushed him back and stood in front of me.

I was feeling confident with her standing in front of me.

“Excuse me!”

“Yes.

Blabber said, pointing her thumb proudly to her chest.

“How about me!”

“…What?”

What the hell was this? I rubbed my temples. My bones ached from one crazy thing after another.

“I have a boyfriend.”

She nods vigorously as if she knows.

“I know, but that leaves room for a girlfriend.”

“That’s…”

It was a logic that no sane person would have thought of.

I was trying to figure out how to say no. The man who had been pushed back by ‘blabber’ pulled her back this time.

“You idiot, that’s not how you talk, look at her expression, she’s already got you!”

Blabber struggled and waved her arms.

“Let go! Get off me! She has the same vibe as Leen, I must get acquainted with her!”

My face doesn’t look like me at all right now…?

It was a frightening intuition.

The man was annoyed by this and shouted in frustration.

“What do you think I have to gain by coming to your embarrassing little brother’s academic festival?”

“What, what did you just say, embarrassing me? Or embarrassing my brother?”

Suddenly, blabber grabbed the man she assumed was her brother by the hair.

“Oh! Did you grab my hair? Are you asking me to fight?”

“Yes, let’s fight until we bleed today!”

‘Haha, what a brother and sister.’

As I watched the two siblings fight, I tugged on Carson’s sleeve.

“Sion. It looks like it’s settled, so let’s go.”

But Carson stood there, motionless, as if he were a gravestone.

“Sion?”

When I called his name again, searching his face, something trickled from his nose.

A nosebleed…

“…Sion!”
