BJ Villainess Chapter 220
Frankly, it was a tempting offer for a moment. However, the risk was too great without any safety measures in place.
“Can you swear to God on that?”
“I swear.”
The emperor’s oath to God was more than just a means to enhance the sincerity of his words. Breaking a promise made to God could actually bring retribution. That’s why no one dared to ask the emperor to swear to God. It was like testing and threatening the monarch. But I did it.
Euges seems to be in a good mood. He was the type who becomes incredibly relaxed when he’s generous, and sure enough, he readily swore an oath. If that was the case, he was willing to speak frankly to a reasonable extent.
“Why did Your Majesty ask if I was worried about you? If you’re displeased, then don’t make me worry, rather than saying such things.”
I paused there for a moment. Euges simply raised an eyebrow, indicating he would listen quietly to what I had to say. There was no reason to hold back then.
“After all, a subject’s duty is to worry about their lord, the country, and the people. What’s wrong with me worrying about Your Majesty? Why do you keep asking so insistently? What kind of answer do you want to hear?”
My pent-up complaints flowed smoothly once I began to voice them.
“And is it really something to be interrogated about, that I’m worried about you? Look at today. I used an expensive and precious potion to cure your headache, and instead of thanking me, you treat me as if I’ve committed a crime!”
“So, you feel wronged?”
“Yes! If Your Majesty doesn’t like me asking if you’re alright or hates me administering potions arbitrarily, then you should just take medicine yourself. Stop being so stubborn!”
“Stubborn…?”
“And please, stop drinking alcohol. And quit smoking too. You know it only makes your headaches worse. You should be able to endure such things as an adult. My brother Giuseppe is more mature. He doesn’t drink or smoke.”

[It’s not that he doesn’t, but that he can’t.]
“Are you done speaking?”
“No? There’s still a lot more.”
“But it seems like we shouldn’t continue.”
“Your Majesty hasn’t even spent the promised 5 minutes. You wouldn’t break your oath to God, would you?”
“Continue if you want. But the more this priestess babbles, the more I want to shut you up because it gives me a headache.” Euges said, glancing at my lips. “If you’re okay with that, continue.”
It was a threat. Or perhaps a warning. Yet, his gaze, his voice, and the sultry air drifting around the bedroom didn’t feel threatening. Of course, why would it? It was more akin to temptation.
I blinked rapidly, confused, and Euges watched my expression with amusement. “You seem to have understood what I meant.”
“Well… I guess?”
Has Euges’s likeability changed?
[Likeability: 🖤🖤🤍🤍🤍]
When I checked out of curiosity, his black hearts had decreased from three to two. His strange masochism, gaining affection from criticism, left me feeling perplexed.
Hmm, it’s time to change the subject. I checked the clock as a diversion. “Ah, 5 minutes have passed.”
Pfft. A deflating laugh sounded above me. As if he had lost interest, the intense gaze that I felt just moments ago cooled. Euges dryly advised, “If you can’t handle it to the end, don’t start it.”
Before I could respond, Euges briskly opened the bedroom door and ordered Jeffrey, who was waiting outside, to send the arcane magic book to the Squire family.

[He’s acting pretty but in an annoying way— I don’t think I’ll eat this one.]
Euges looked back at me, leaning against the widely opened door. “It’s late, so Princess should return. We’ll meet again at the summer ball.”
Though his dismissal was abrupt, I managed to respond gracefully. “Then I shall take my leave, Your Majesty.”
Even if his affection had increased, it was still a black heart. Spending more time with Euges wouldn’t have been beneficial, so I left the bedroom without any regrets. And, of course, it goes without saying that rumors spread throughout the capital that day about me becoming the emperor’s lover.

For a while, the Squire duchy, which had not seen the end of parties, fell into silence. It was because of the arcane magic book that had been recovered after 100 years. Or more precisely, due to the circumstances under which the magic book had been recovered.
Raul had a stern face even as he received the magic book directly from Jeffrey, who had acted as the messenger. It wasn’t an expression of rage upon confirming the imperial family’s involvement in an incident 100 years ago; it was closer to worry.
“Let’s rest today and talk tomorrow.”
And the next morning, after finishing breakfast with the family, Raul quietly called me alone to his study.
“Speak frankly to your father. What is your relationship with His Majesty the Emperor?”
It was a situation that could lead to misunderstandings about my relationship with Euges. Even Eloise had said today.
“It is said that the emperor has taken a liking to Milady. Is that true…?”
Society had already accepted it as a fact. It was an unwelcome misunderstanding.
“We have no relation.”
Raul looked at me as if doubting my words. “His Majesty has shown behavior he has never shown to anyone else, and it’s always been you. How can you say there’s no relationship?”
I wondered if it was because I’m the creator of this world, and Euges unconsciously felt something.
“I don’t know either.”
Raul glanced at me and clicked his tongue. “I guess I asked the wrong person. Despite openly showing his favoritism towards you, you still don’t understand its meaning.”
“That’s not it, really. If His Majesty liked me, he would have brought me into the imperial palace right away.”
“For someone who claims to know nothing, you sure know a lot about His Majesty.”
“…Anyway, we have no relationship, and I don’t want to have any.”
Raul pressed his forehead, apparently frustrated. “If the other party was just a noble, you can snort and ignore them. But the other party is His Majesty the Emperor. Whether there’s a feeling or not isn’t the point.”

[Because it’s a class system.]
“Don’t worry. His Majesty isn’t interested enough in me to want to marry me.”
“In other words, even if not marriage, he’s still interested in you?”
That’s how it makes sense…
Raul locked his fingers and asked in a serious tone. “Given the situation, how about getting engaged?”
“With whom?”
“Someone with power and wealth and a position strong enough not to be easily intimidated by the emperor. Professor Bernstein or Marquis Vallensia would be suitable.”
When I smiled awkwardly, showing reluctance, Raul’s brows furrowed deeply. “Aside from the urgency, they’re all desirable suitors. What’s the problem? Is it because of Damian? Are you still unable to let go of the man who abandoned you and made you miserable?”
“That has nothing to do with Damian. And he’s my friend.”
“Really? You truly have no feelings?”
“Yes. Absolutely none.”
[The Constellations who support the ‘Damian’ route are disappointed.]
Raul repeatedly asked if I truly had no feelings, and I consistently answered that we were just friends.
After several rounds of pointless argument, Raul spoke with an unwilling tone. “That guy, Damian, was acknowledged as the legitimate child of Duke Kapento. It means he has the status to marry you formally. And yet there is no change in your mind?”
I was momentarily speechless at the unexpected question. Since Damian had four red hearts, it was impossible for him to act like that. Why is he leading to a bad ending route?
Seeing me frown, Raul added with a still skeptical look. “While you were at the palace yesterday, Duke Kapento came to break the contract with our scholarship foundation. He blatantly asked if you had a fiancé.”
“…Just because Damian became Duke Kapento’s son doesn’t mean I want to marry him.”
Raul waved his hand to end the frustrating conversation and then mentioned the arcane magic book. “I called you here for another reason as well. The lock on the book was open; did you read it?”
“Yes, but not all of it.”
“You must have read enough to know. This is a bible for those who worship the Demon God. The Squire lineage has been the first follower of the Demon God for generations.”
The Demon God, a daughter of the Holy God, had black hair and silver-gray eyes. The Demon God descended to the world in place of the Holy God, allowing humans to use magic. This fact was forgotten as the arcane magic book disappeared.
“Due to the influence of the Demon God, the direct descendants of the Squire family are born with black hair and silver-gray eyes.”
Moreover, the Demon God taught necromancy to her faithful followers. Humans are too weak and insignificant. They were given the ability to become butterflies after death, to survive among other superior races, out of tender love.
I was moved by the story Raul told. The game did not have settings for the Holy God and Demon God. Thus, this was a part of the world that formed independently, warming my heart even more. I was glad that there exists a being who loves this world as much if not more than I do.
“The Demon God sounds like a wonderful person. I wish I could meet her in person.”
I had a feeling we would get along well.

Oh good girl. You still can’t see it, can you?
I wonder who’s the ‘Holy God’ in this scenario.
I bet she’s that Demon God
