BJ Villainess Chapter 370
Clyde Special Story. True Ending
Clyde had always kept his bangs long enough to slightly cover his eyes. He wanted to hide his eyes in case they suddenly turned red. But today, he swept his bangs back neatly, fully revealing his handsome face. Perhaps because he was also dressed in pure white, anyone would have thought an angel had descended to earth. In fact, that wasn’t entirely wrong.
Clyde checked his reflection in the mirror. The formal attire adorned with plenty of tassels and gold thread was the traditional wedding suit of the Willow family.
Knock, knock. At that moment, a servant knocked on his door. “Lord Clyde, it’s time to leave.”
“Let’s go.”
As soon as Clyde stepped out of the room, flower petals rained down as if on cue.
“The groom is here!”
“Waaah!”
The always dignified and solemn Willow family had opened its mansion today for a wedding that was more like a festival, welcoming the crowd that had come to celebrate. People packed into the gardens and at the entrance of the Willow mansion to watch the groom go out to meet his bride.
Isn’t this a bit much?
Noble weddings usually attract outsiders hoping for some leftovers, but even so, this was an unusually large crowd. Clyde glanced with a sour look at the ladies, who made up over 90% of the ruckus.
“Kyaaaah!”
“Aaah! So handsome!”
“Please look over here!”
They were Clybe. Clyde was about to yell at them to get lost, as usual, but held back his temper. It’s already been two years since I graduated, so why does that crazy fan club still exist? “I don’t get it.”
Today was a happy wedding day. It wouldn’t do to get angry on such a day. With an awkward stance, he waved his hand toward Clybe. It was hard to tell whether it was a greeting or a signal to go away, but the fan club members screamed with delight.
“Aaaack! So cute!”
“…”
Unable to handle their enthusiasm any longer, Clyde put his hand down. This will all be over soon. Since Clybe was an abbreviation for ‘Clyde’s Bride-to-be,’ after his wedding, the club would naturally disband. If they didn’t, he would already be making a plan to go to the school himself and disband it.
Clyde got into the magnificent four-horse carriage waiting among the crowd. The carriage, with no roof, was overflowing with magical flowers emitting brilliant light and fragrance. Sitting among those flowers, he set off for the Squire mansion.
This wedding strictly followed the traditions of the Raphsia Empire. First, in the morning, the groom would ride the flower carriage to the bride’s house and propose in front of everyone. If the bride accepted, they would ride together to the Great Temple. Distinguished guests would already be waiting at the temple, and the real ceremony would begin the moment the bride and groom appeared on the wedding road.
Even families of considerable prestige rarely attempted such a wedding, as it would be the most pitiful and shameful thing if the people did not come out to celebrate. Usually, only marriages between highly respected noble families or a hero’s wedding were conducted this way. Since Clyde and Theresa fit both criteria, it was practically like a national festival.
“Waaaaah!”
Besides, the groom was such a dazzlingly handsome man! The people, who had been waiting along the route for hours, threw flowers and cheered as the carriage passed by.
Looks like I’ll see a lifetime’s worth of flower petals today. Clyde, who never expected to get married amid such tremendous blessings, found the situation both absurd and amusing.
Soon, the carriage arrived at its intermediate destination. The Squire family’s servants, who had been eagerly waiting for the groom, shouted in excitement. “The groom has arrived!”
Clyde looked nervously at the wide-open entrance of the mansion. He had felt perfectly fine until just a moment ago, but the thought of proposing to Theresa again made his heart race. Swallowed up in both nervousness and anticipation, he walked to where the bride awaited.
Theresa was covered by a veil. “You’re here?”
He could faintly see Theresa’s smile through the veil. I want to hug her. Clyde wanted nothing more than to rush to her and hold her tight, but now wasn’t the time. He took out the ring he had prepared and knelt on one knee before Theresa.
“Marry me, Theresa.”
She extended her left hand as acceptance, and he gently placed the ring on her finger. As the moment he had only imagined in his head became reality, Clyde felt a rush of emotion. This must be what people call being moved. Just like the moment I found her again after waiting for so many years.
Theresa, who had somehow become the reason for his life, would become his wife from today. As the overwhelming feeling of spending the rest of his life with her surged,
“If you’re done, shall we go to the temple now?”
Theresa broke the mood with a matter-of-fact remark. Things like this had happened several times before, but he didn’t expect it even today. Still immersed in a romantic mood, Clyde looked at Theresa in disbelief.
“What are you staring at? Aren’t we going?” Either she didn’t realize what was wrong, or she simply didn’t care. Theresa tilted her head as if wondering why he wasn’t moving.
Clyde found his beloved bride just a little bit annoying. “Alright. I’ll escort you with utmost care.” So, to tease her, he suddenly swept her up in his arms.
“Hey, what are you doing?! Put me down!”
Theresa hit his shoulder with the hand holding the bouquet, but he didn’t budge. The servants standing in a circle around them giggled and burst into laughter.
Clyde carried her all the way to the carriage. The onlookers outside, waiting for them to emerge, were delighted by the unexpected scene. The only one embarrassed by that was Theresa.
“See? Everyone loves it.” Clyde said brazenly as he got into the carriage. For a moment, he considered going all the way to the temple with her in his arms, but thought better of it for fear of later consequences.
As the carriage set off for its final destination, the Great Temple, a welcome sound came from afar. Bwoooo—! A mother whale and her calf appeared side by side in the sky, blessing the wedding with magical light.
“Guys!” Theresa waved at the whales, and so did all the people on the street. It was like a scene from a fairy tale, and the children’s excitement reached its peak.
“I’ve never seen a wedding like this in my life!”
Clyde chuckled, agreeing with someone’s exclamation. He had neither seen nor heard of such a wedding himself.
The carriage soon arrived at the temple. The two entered the temple, draped in white cloth. The outdoor wedding hall, filled with blooming spring flowers, was packed with guests, and lively music was played.
“The bride and groom will now enter!”
At the priest’s call, the noise died down and all eyes turned to the start of the wedding road. The music changed.
Clyde whispered softly, so only Theresa could hear. “Shall we go?”
Theresa nodded, and they began walking down the aisle as they had practiced. The big hurdle was just up there. At the end of the aisle, they would listen to the officiant’s speech and perform the oath ceremony. Afterward, they just had to endure the party until dawn, acting the part of the main characters.
In fact, neither Clyde nor Theresa particularly liked such loud events, but today was different. It was the first day they would become husband and wife.
Still, I can’t wait to spend some time alone together. With the intention of monopolizing Theresa, Clyde had planned a honeymoon that would last six whole months. His carefully crafted itinerary, focused on nations with unique magic, was fortunately just to her liking.
As the ceremony neared its end, the most anticipated moment arrived.
“Bride and groom, please vow your eternal love with a kiss.”
Clyde smiled, remembering their first wedding. Back then, his heart had nearly stopped at the thought of the kiss. He was just as nervous now, but the anticipation outweighed everything else. And he wondered what kind of expression Theresa had. As he lifted the veil to kiss her, he burst into laughter.
“…Why are you laughing?” Theresa had acted completely normal up until the temple, but once the veil was lifted, her face was filled with nerves.
At that moment, Clyde felt his own nerves melt away. “I laughed because you’re so cute.”
“What are you talking about?”
Clyde looked fondly at Theresa, who was staring at him, embarrassed. “I’m going to kiss you now, so close your eyes.” Seeing his flustered bride squeeze her eyes shut, Clyde smiled even wider as he kissed her.
“Waaaah—!”
As the clear bell signaled the end of the ceremony, the two parted and gazed at each other affectionately, as if trying to etch this moment of becoming husband and wife into their memories forever.
“We should leave now. Shall we go?”
…Wasn’t this the right mood?
Again breaking the atmosphere, Theresa grabbed his hand and strode down the aisle. Clyde couldn’t help but chuckle. Even at this moment, pledging themselves to each other for eternity, Theresa was still Theresa. Maybe that’s why I can’t help but love her as if it’s my fate.
“I love you, Theresa.”
At his spontaneous confession, Theresa turned to look back as she led the way down the aisle. She smiled as if to say she already knew. Her gaze and expression radiated a confident affection, like an answer to his words.
Clyde was completely satisfied just by her smile. Yet something unexpected happened again.
“…Mmph!”
Theresa suddenly kissed him first, without warning.
“Oh my!” Shouts erupted from all around at the surprise kiss, mingled with teasing cheers and delighted laughter at the couple’s sweetness.
With a resounding smack, Theresa broke the kiss and, still looking surprised, said to Clyde, “Now that you’ve heard my answer, shall we finish leaving?”
Whatever the moment, she was always herself. Clyde couldn’t stop laughing all the way out. It was a bright, unmistakable happiness that left no doubt in anyone’s mind.
<The end of Clyde Special Story>
Hello, Alyalia is here~
It's been nearly three years since I started translating this novel, and I can't believe I've finished translating it. Thanks to LyraDhani (the previous translator), I discovered this precious novel. A little backstory on how I picked this novel: LyraDhani announced in the group that she wanted to drop this novel because it's not really her style, and asked if there was anyone who wanted to pick it up. I was initially skeptical of the title, but decided to give it a try to read it. And wow, this novel is really my style. Still, I was in a dilemma since I already had too many novels to translate at that time. With the mind 'screw the worries, I'm going to pick this up,' (*」>д<)」─── I ended up really pick this novel. When I finished translating the last chapter, I even teared up a bit ╥﹏╥.
This novel has a special place in my heart, I'm really glad that many readers liking this novel too. Thanks to all the readers, especially those who have ever left comments and reviews (I probably read almost all of them). And I want to apologize too if you encounter any mistakes that make your reading journey uncomfortable. Please give your support to the author as well. May the chapters yet unwritten hold a page where our stories converge in the novel of tomorrow~ (≧∇≦)/
