Chapter 18 - How to Manage Your Connection (8)

A naive government-supported awakener who knows nothing.

So, ‘I’ don’t even know how much of a ‘jackpot’ my increased stats and skills are, and only vaguely perceive it as a good thing.

This is what my stats will look like in Scammer’s eyes.

[Status]

– Name : Kang Nahyun

– Job : Sniper

– Level : 15

– Physical Strength : F+

– Speed : C-

– Stamina : D+

– Magic : C-

– Mana Attribute : None

[Possessed Skills]

– Passive : Inventory Lv.2

– Passive : Clairvoyant Lv.2

– Passive : 100-Shoots-100-Hits Lv.2

– Active : Magic Bullet Lv.5

For reference, the average standard for being hired as a combat hunter is stats of about C.

In other words, I went from being a young chick to suddenly possessing the speed and mana of a hunter running in the field.

Even if it’s a long-term growth type, it’s not awkward because it can sometimes show explosive growth and go up in steps.

And now that the stats that Scammer wants from me have risen to just the right amount, it must feel like winning the lottery from his perspective. Or does he feel like the maturity date of his 10-year savings account has suddenly been pushed back by an hour?

However, there’s no opportunity to level up until the midterm exam. Let’s work hard to build up the meta point and show my growth by pouring them out again during the midterm exam.

It’s a perfect plan.

“Yuhan?”

Scammer was so surprised when he saw my stats that he stiffened. I pretended not to know, curiously tapped his shoulder.

“Uh, huh?”

“Are you okay?”

As I paid attention to Scammer, Choi Soojung tilted her head, looked at him, and spoke.

“What’s wrong, suddenly? Are you sick?”

“Shall we end here today?”

He suddenly came to his senses when I acted to be worried and encouraged him to finish it.

“No! I’m okay! Let’s clean up the monster bodies and then go explore the dungeon inside the gate.”

That’s right. Because your real purpose lies within. The rest are all additional benefits.

It may seem a bit large for an additional benefit, but it is anyway.

“To the dungeon? Is it okay…?”

‘I’ pretended not to know anything and just asked the two concerned.

“It’s okay~ It’s okay~ Nahyun took care of everything, you knooow.”

“Yeah. The monsters that gathered earlier are all of them. Don’t worry.”

Don’t pat me, you bastard. Should I bite him off?

I was already so tired, yet Scammer kept stroking my head to try to calm me down. Even though I was stressed, I had to pretend to accept it.

Perhaps because they killed so many monsters, the amount of corpses piled up around them was no joke.

“Nahyun, you have inventory skills, right?”

“Ah, yes! how did you know?”

“I can actually see the status~.”

“Really?”

A lie.

“No. Basically, all awakeners gain inventory skills when they reach level 2.”

“That’s a joke.”

Scammer blurted out a word and silently placed the corpses of the monsters into his inventory.

“I see… How big is your inventory?”

“It’s not a concept of size. When you first get the skill, you can put 100 items of 10 types each?”

“”Whoa…”

“For your information, my inventory level is only 10, so I can put 1000 items of 100 types in each.”

I know.

[Na Yu-han was an extra with garbage stats that only increased inventory skills and nothing else until level 10.]

I think there was a description like this in the novel as well. It was quite impressive.

“You can put the monster corpses piled up next to you in your inventory and later go to the exchange and sell them.”

“Mmhm. Because everything we get during the attack is Yuhan’s… Shall I gather the one in front of Yuhan?”

“If you do so, I’ll be thankful.”

I worked hard to move the monster corpse. Choi Soojung removed an amount that I could move several times with a single blow of wind. As expected, the wind skill is a cheat.

Although it was a scene full of dead bodies, fortunately it wasn’t that grotesque. Monsters that died cleanly with only their cores broken were stuffed in their intact form and piled up in layers.

I placed my palm on the body of the last monster.

“So it’s really dead. I thought it was still alive, though…”

“It’s dead.”

Scammer calmly threw the last corpse into his inventory. He looked at my expression and spoke as if he was giving some advice.

“Nahyun. Monsters are just monsters.”

“I know.”

“Then why are you making that face?”

“I know, but it’s just…”

I played the role of a heroine who was distraught after killing a monster, I mean, a life, for the first time.

I stared at my hands and clenched them into fists without saying a word. I looked down at my clenched fist silently, as if I was realizing that lives had been extinguished with these hands.

In reality, seeing the monsters lying dead in layers brought back old memories and made me a little distraught, so acting was easy.

Scammer stood next to me silently, left only one word, “Let’s go,” and led the way to the temple in the center of the dungeon.

Choi Soojung, who was floating in the air without saying a word, patted my head and left. What else are you doing?

I silently followed the two.

As if wiping out the monsters was rewarding, the empty meadow was so quiet that only our footsteps could be heard.

It was a short walk to the temple in the center of the dungeon.

Although the stone temple was showing off its grandeur, the stone door blocking the entrance was already tattered, as if monsters had broken it down.

“We’ve taken care of everything, but just in case, let’s let Soojung take charge of the search from now on.”

“Okay~”

And the moment we stepped into the temple, the temple started shaking.

Rumbleㅡ

The pillars trembled and moved back and forth, and the walls expanded arbitrarily. The floor split open, revealing a new floor underneath.

I tried so hard to keep my balance that I ended up slipping. Before I fell to the floor, Choi Soojung lifted me up with the wind. When I looked closely, I saw that she had also lifted Scammer into the wind.

We floated in the air for a while, watching the temple move and change shape like crazy.

After some time, the temple revealed to us floors and pillars with various strange patterns.

And I was taken aback.

What? This wasn’t in the original story, though?

Originally, all we had to do was trudge along and get something from the center!

I looked back at Scammer in confusion.

He was smiling. As if this ‘event’ was anticipated.

…Hey, you gambling addict, game addict, Scammer bastard!

I swallowed the scream that was about to burst out and grabbed the gun.

Choi Soojung landed us on the floor again.

If I see Scammer smiling like that, this must be an event that occurs in the original novel, the ‘game’, that activates when there is a certain trigger.

The only element that differs from the original novel’s development is the presence of me and Choi Soojung.

In other words, he used me and Choi Soojung as triggers to trigger the events of the original ‘game’ that he knew.

Let’s think about it. If there was a limit on the number of people, we would have been blocked at the gate entrance.

So, it’s a trigger problem that exists in the individual.

The most likely trigger for me is a sudden increase in specs.

From his point of view, he wouldn’t have expected my specs to have improved, and it’s not easy to set up a strategy in such a short period of time.

Aside from that, I can’t imagine any trigger that would be related to me as it didn’t even appear in the game in the first place.

At best, it’s a soul from another world, but there’s no way this could be the trigger of the game.

Then…

I looked at Choi Soojung, who was looking around with a stern expression.

The trigger for this event is Choi Soojung.

As the floor shook, Scammer stumbled, unable to keep his balance.

“Are you okay?”

I quickly caught him. Indeed, crappy specs.

As soon as the vibrations that had been waving Scammer like a flag fluttering in the wind stopped, a magnificent voice was heard in the air.

<Continue the trials, blood relative of the brave beasts in the tower.>

Wow, this is Choi Soojung’s anger button.

I glanced at Choi Soojung, who didn’t even have time to hide her distorted expression.

Serves him right. What kind of spirit did this fraudster have to cause such an event?

“I want to get back out the gate.”

She looked back with an expressionless expression, as if she wouldn’t forgive any objections.

“Mmhm, Something seems strange.”

Well, that’s how it should be. The anger trigger of the powerful isn’t something to be trifled with. That person is probably the strongest among us.

“No, it’s just as expected.”

Yet Scammer didn’t care and just stabbed us in the face!
