He cupped Luize’s face with his right hand and pressed their lips together. Edward invaded her parted lips skillfully, kissing her more desperately and roughly than ever before. The sound of their mingling saliva echoed stickily in the room.

Luize’s body temperature quickly rose to match Edward’s feverish heat. Their breaths intertwined, and soon, they were both panting. Every touch felt hot. Though Luize was on top, she felt as if she were being devoured by a hungry predator.

Haa, haa, ha…

“Don’t think about anything else. Focus on me.”

Edward whispered from a dangerously close distance after briefly breaking their kiss. His low, gravelly voice revealed his possessiveness and burning desire.

Her silver eyelashes trembled slightly as she slowly opened her eyes, which were a purplish-blue color like the dawn sky.

“…Is it you, Edward, right now?”

Edward didn’t respond, only staring at her for a long time. Though his eyes had focus, his gaze was entirely different from usual. Luize had often seen eyes like these in Perils—eyes of beasts that had completely lost their sanity.

He broke the silence and parted his lips. “I have always been Edward.”

He swallowed her lips again. Even as their tender flesh and saliva mixed continuously, her lips dried, and her body burned. She gripped his nightgown tightly.

In truth, she could stop at any time. Yet, the reason Luize didn’t stop him was the same reason they pretended to avoid physical contact but didn’t use separate rooms. She also wanted to touch him. She had only restrained herself to prevent the confusion that would come when Edward regained all his memories, but she desired him more than anyone.

Confirming that Luize was not avoiding his kiss, Edward untied his nightgown belt with the hand that had been cupping her face. As the gown loosened, Luize’s hand, which had been holding onto the fabric, trembled. While continuing to kiss her, Edward sat up against the bed’s headboard. Luize, with a startled expression, pulled away.

“…Edward?”

“It’s hot.”

Edward completely removed his nightgown while looking at her with a heavy gaze. His perfectly sculpted muscular torso, like a masterpiece crafted by an artisan, was exposed. He resumed kissing her and used both hands to support her head and waist, turning them halfway on the bed.

Luize’s long silver hair spread messily on the bed. Suddenly finding herself lying beneath him, Luize pushed his shoulders in a panic. He obediently withdrew his upper body. Edward’s red eyes glowed intensely under his black hair.

“Edward, you don’t seem like yourself. And you have a high fever. We should—”

“Yes, my head feels like it’s splitting. So, Miss Luize, help me relieve this pain.”

“Alright. Let’s get some medicine from Robin fir—!”

Smooch. Edward, looking displeased, blocked her words by kissing her again.

“Another man’s name?”

“No, it’s just that the medicine… Ah.

“There’s a better way.”

Edward’s lips moved from her cheek, along her jawline, down her neck, and to her collarbone. The faint, now-faded red mark came into his view. He left another mark on her collarbone while his hands unbuttoned her nightgown. Pop, pop, pop…

Luize hadn’t expected this because she had always trusted him not to cross the final line. Tonight, she wore a nightgown that opened up like a robe if all seven front buttons were undone. Half of the buttons were already undone, allowing Edward to quickly unbutton her gown completely. Luize clutched the bed sheet unconsciously.

Confirming the new red marks, Edward didn’t hesitate to lower his lips below her collarbone. Following her fair, delicate skin, he moved past the mound, the sternum, and beside the navel, down to the lower abdomen. Each touch of his lips felt like blooming hot flowers, causing her to arch her back instinctively. Her silver eyelashes quivered.

“The pain will subside if we promise to be together until the end.”

“…What?”

“So take me. And here.” Edward kissed her lower abdomen slowly, almost reverently. “Allow me to leave my mark.”

“Edward, wait. You’re not in your right mind.”

“…”

“Edward?”

Without answering, he moved even lower.

“…That! Ah, wait…”

“…Does it hurt?”

Feeling his hot breath on her delicate skin, Luize tightly closed her eyes. “No, it’s just too embarrassing. And besides, you’re a patient… Ah.”

She reached into his thick black hair, intending to push him away, but he misinterpreted and buried his head deeper. Luize let out a thin moan with a heated breath. It was a place no one’s eyes had ever seen before. Though something inappropriate touched that area, the pleasure it brought overwhelmed her with whiteness in her mind.

The wet, sticky sound coming from below was even more explicit than when they kissed. She felt a powerful urge to become one with him. When she finally reached a peak of ecstasy and somewhat regained her senses, she looked down, breathing heavily.

Edward wiped his mouth roughly with his palm and met her gaze.

“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this moment.”

As he raised his upper body, the large presence hidden in his trousers became apparent. At first, she mistook it for a large accessory or weapon tucked inside his clothes, as it was hard to believe it belonged to a human—even one with dragon’s blood. Even when she felt him through his clothes, it was an overwhelming size, but the full silhouette revealed through just a single layer of trousers was…….

Although she knew his right pants leg was bigger, she couldn’t imagine that it would be this extreme in its fully aroused state.

“I-I can’t.”

“…”

“It won’t work. It’s impossible.” She snapped out of it, realizing this was beyond what she had ever imagined for a human.

“…I guess more preparation is needed.”

“It’s not a matter of preparation or not…!”

Edward’s face moved toward her upper body this time. “I will try not to hurt you, but I might lose control. Honestly, I’m already not in my right mind.”

Luize felt a premonition that if they went through with this, he would likely lose control over his body. While it was reassuring that he was self-aware enough to recognize his unstable state, it was clear he had no intention of stopping. Attempting this even when he was sane would be dangerous, but doing it in his current state was almost suicidal.

Watching Edward approach her, Luize spoke resolutely. “Edward, I’m sorry in advance. I’ll make this quick.”

“…”

As he got closer, she struck the back of his neck sharply with the edge of her hand.

Thud. Edward collapsed sideways onto the bed. Swoosh, she grabbed his shoulder and laid him down properly.

“I will call  Ro… your assigned healer, so just wait here quietly.” She refrained from calling Robin by name, fearing Edward might wake immediately if she did.

Following her survival instincts, Luize hastily dressed and headed straight for Maxion and Robin’s room.

Robin, who had rushed in with a box of medical supplies in his arms, examined Edward’s condition.

“From the mana detector’s response, it seems there’s an internal mana clash. I’ve heard that powerful wizards sometimes experience such symptoms due to internal mana disruptions.”

“I see…”

“First, we need to lower his fever, but it’s hard for him to take antipyretics while unconscious. Maybe mixing it with holy water might help absorption.”

“That would reduce the medicine’s effectiveness. Leave the medicine here. I’ll handle it.”
