I heard a bit late that Rivena had gone to visit Yohan’s tent.

Apparently, the gossip-happy types had plenty of time to run their mouths about how Theodore and I came out of the forest together — even in that short time.

Then, I think I heard something like,

‘I heard that Lady Rivena also entered Duke Hyrad’s tent earlier too.’

It seems that no further conversation was possible as the place was hastily cleared, but it was enough time for me to hear.

And to make matters worse, they said she didn’t come back out right away, but stayed there for quite a while.

It meant that Yohan didn’t kick Rivena out as soon as he met her.

“Ah…”

I didn’t miss the flicker of discomfort that crossed Yohan’s face in that moment.

“Well… actually…”

When he flinched slightly, my expression instantly turned sour.

In any case, it was not common for a young man and woman to be alone in a tent, away from the gaze of others.

Even when Yohan and I had been alone in a tent, things had naturally gotten… heated, hadn’t they?

I don’t doubt Yohan, but I still feel bad.

‘Hmm. Could it be that Rivena was trying to seduce Yohan, just like Theodore did to me?’

“Well? ‘Actually’ what?”

A slightly sharp voice came out bluntly.

“Did she say she likes you and would follow you around? Or did she not even bother mentioning her engagement, like Theodore?”

At those words, Yohan asked in an eerie voice.

“What? That damned bastard Theodore said that to you in the forest?”

‘That’s not the topic of conversation right now!’

Yohan, who was looking at my narrowed eyes, sighed faintly.

Then he spoke in a low voice.

“She… just gave me a potion that could control you. Said she only had one left. Told me to turn you into a puppet and withdraw from all this.”

‘Huh? It was something I hadn’t expected.’

For a moment, I felt a chill.

How could she possibly make that kind of offer to Yohan — my lover?

“Don’t worry, Yurika.”

Yohan spoke affectionately while holding my hand.

“I told her not to talk nonsense, and poured it out on the spot.”

“Ah… yeah.”

I slowly nodded at his words.

I hadn’t expected Rivena to make such a move, so it was quite surprising.

But then Yohan asked cautiously.

“Did you already suspect something?”

“Huh?”

“When you mentioned she came to my tent, your expression got really bad.”

My ears burned hot in an instant.

Yohan continued in a worried tone.

“I know you don’t fully trust me yet… and I get how a normal person might react to hearing that, so you don’t have to worry too much…”

“What are you even saying!”

It was another unexpected reaction. I jumped and shook my head.

“It’s not that I don’t trust you, I… uh…just…”

Seeing Yohan’s face become increasingly gloomy, I muttered irritably:

“It’s just… they said you and Rivena were alone in the tent for quite a while… and… well, she is pretty…”

At my words, Yohan’s eyes widened instantly.

“So I… um… well… kind of… got bothered…”

As I talked, embarrassment crept in.

As my voice grew quieter, the corners of Yohan’s mouth began to rise.

“And I wondered if maybe she tried to flirt with you, so I got a little jealous, and…”

“Ah.”

John seemed strangely pleased when he heard what I said.

“Really?”

He couldn’t even hide the smile in his eyes

I was pouting when he suddenly kissed my cheek and pulled me tight into his arms.

“Thank you.”

“Huh?”

“I’m so glad you’re jealous.”

‘Was that really something to be grateful for?’

I blinked in confusion, but then Yohan whispered with a heated voice:

“I was wondering if I was the only one who hated Theodore so much that I wanted to beat him to death.”

“I-I didn’t want to beat him to death—”

“…And that I was the only one who went insane seeing you with another man.”

“It’s not like I went insane—”

“I even wondered if it was just because I’m a wizard and normal couples don’t feel that way. I’m glad. And also….”

Yohan peppered kisses all over — my cheeks, my neck, my lips, my forehead — as he murmured:

“You’re so cute, Yurika.”

I don’t think I’ve ever been consistently cute from beginning to end, so I could not understand why he was so obsessed with calling me cute.

And I wasn’t even in my adorable squirrel form right now!

I hadn’t smiled or blushed — I’d stayed grumpy the whole time! What on earth was so cute about that?

Still, it wasn’t the worst thing to hear. So I just shrugged and stayed in his arms.

And once Yohan seemed to have calmed down a little, I mumbled grumpily:

“But you.”

“Huh?”

“Why did you flinch earlier? Anyone could tell you looked guilty. It was bothering me.”

“Ah….”

Yohan sighed slightly and remained silent for a moment.

He seemed to be internally struggling with whether or not to speak.

Of course, it wasn’t just what he’d already told me. I watched his expression closely.

“Honestly… Indeed, I was momentarily shaken.”

“What?”

As I blinked, Yohan added calmly.

“Because if I did that, I could really keep you by my side forever.”

At the same time, Lean’s warning flashed through my mind.

The repeated advice that wizards cannot have ordinary romances and that possessiveness should not be mistaken for love.

But are you telling me you really had that thought, even for a moment?

Yohan continued speaking as if he had resolved to tell everything since it had come to this.

“To be honest, if I had gotten my hands on that potion back then, I might have used it on you. That’s how desperately I wanted to keep you next to me, always.”

I quietly looked at Yohan’s calm face.

His beautiful side profile as he spoke so earnestly was engraved clearly in my mind.

“I couldn’t help but feel that urge, Yurika. That’s not something I can control. In fact, even just thinking about parting with you tonight after bringing you back to the Medes estate makes me miserable.”

“…….”

“But I don’t regret pouring that potion out.”

Yohan smiled faintly.

Then he took my hand and kissed it, saying:

“Because if I had used it, I wouldn’t have been able to see you getting adorably jealous like this.”

Yohan’s low voice continued.

“And besides that… your smile, your thoughtful face, your angry face, your crying face… they’re all so precious to me that I don’t want to erase any of them.”

Strangely, my heart ached.

It was a feeling I couldn’t fully understand, and so it felt even bigger.

“Even though it hurts because I can’t always be by your side.”

I smiled and held his hand quietly.

How can you not believe a man who says such things?

“I love you, Yurika.”

Yohan hugged me tightly again and whispered.

“I’m pretty sure ordinary humans would call this love, too. Right?”

I nodded vigorously.

“Yeah.”

And I answered by kissing his lips first.

“I love you too, Yohan.”

If all goes according to plan, we will soon learn about the family secret.

No matter what truth awaited us, I had no intention of ever letting go of Yohan’s hand

Duke of Medes.

With Mariel, Yurika, and even Jayden away at the hunting competition, the mansion was quiet.

“Yes, I understand. Okay, I got it.”

In the meantime, there was someone who suddenly became busy. It was Runart.

He was doing everything he could to make Sienna better, just like he had promised Yurika at the beginning.

However, despite his prestigious honor as the top graduate of the academy, treating Sienna’s psychological condition proved difficult.

Her physical health was improving, but ever since she saw Yurika, her severe delusions had only worsened, and there seemed to be no solution.

While he was having a headache today, the phone suddenly started ringing loudly, calling him.

The person who called him was none other than Trevor Olteva.

He didn’t know the full situation, but they said they were from an old vassal family under the protection of the Duke of Medes.

Normally, Trevor’s care was handled by his son, Paul, so Runart never had to concern himself with it.

But because Paul had suddenly joined the hunting competition at the last minute today, Runart ended up receiving the summons.

“My head hurts, my head!”

The old man—who was rumored to babble nonsense from senility—shouted at Runart.

“Where’s my little son? Did he go on a date or something? Anyway, you’d better hurry up and get me some painkillers!”

Runart let out a deep sigh over the disappearance of the ‘good-for-nothing son who made it to seventy without getting married.’

“Just a moment. I’ll check your condition first and then prescribe something.”

With his sense of duty as a doctor, he couldn’t just give out random painkillers, so he forcefully began examining Trevor despite the old man’s complaints.

Runart’s expression became serious as he carefully observed Trevor’s condition.

“T-This is…!”

He quickly dug into his medical bag, searching through Sienna’s medical records.

He sensed something was off.
