At the Hisri Information Guild closest to Yurika, the guild leader’s sighs could be heard from early morning.

“Huh…”

She pressed her forehead with one hand as she received the latest information that had arrived that morning.

“It doesn’t seem like a very good choice.…”

“Ah, you mean Lady Yurika Medes ran away from home?”

The aide pouring tea beside her quickly responded.

“I think so too. I don’t know why her judgment suddenly became clouded. Especially in times like this, she should have stayed firm.”

The aide clicked his tongue while scratching his chin.

“If she leaves like that, she is giving Miss Lizzy a chance to act freely. Why would she act so emotionally—”

“That’s not it.”

The Hisri guild leader interrupted the aide’s words with a tone of exasperation.

“Have we ever seen Lady Yurika Medest act emotionally?”

“Well… um… no, we haven’t?”

“She was calm and rational even during her teenage years. Honestly, even noble children trained from young rarely keep such composure. Her potential is extraordinary… though she’s still young after all.”

The Hisri Information Guild leader was a middle-aged woman with blue hair.

Her name was Lean Hisri — a fallen noble who had been trading with Yurika for the past five years.

In other words, she had the eye to recognize Yurika’s potential at a young age, as well as plenty of worldly experience.

For example, she had firsthand experience of how dangerous wizards could be, and how twisted their natures could become.

The young people of Yurika’s generation, who had only known wizards through theory due to being born after the war, wouldn’t truly understand.

“Are you saying that running away from home isn’t the problem?”

“Of course. I’m sure it’s all part of Lady Yurika’s plan. With her personality, rushing out of the duke’s house in the morning to cause a commotion in the capital cannot be seen as an impulsive action.”

“Then what’s the problem with her choice?”

“Obviously, her destination.”

Lean sighed again and crossed her arms.

“She went straight into the Duke Hyrad house? That could be far more dangerous than that woman Lizzy. It also bothers me that Duke Hyrad hasn’t ordered any calming potions from the temple for a long time.”

“Maybe he still has stock from the war?”

“He hasn’t placed a single order since he received supplies during the war.”

Lean wanted to inform Yurika of that fact, but now that she had entered the Hyrad Estate, there was no way to send her a letter.

“If magic is used in that situation, no matter how rational a wizard might be, hiding their true nature would become extremely difficult.”

“If it’s ‘true nature,’ you mean…”

“I mean, running wild for real effect.”

The aide furrowed his brows as if wondering what that had to do with Yurika, but Lean continued calmly.

“The most effective method is with divine beasts, but the temple finished distributing them five years ago… The second method is contact with a humanized divine beast, but that’s practically impossible…”

Her voice became more and more serious.

“The only way to relieve the pain would be to meet someone you like, so I wonder if Lady Yurika is safe….”

Lean sighed again and pressed her forehead.

For others, cooperation might seem normal, but for wizards, the very concept of working together was almost nonexistent.

They could easily break a companion’s trust if it suited their goals.

‘First of all, being so obedient to Lady Yurika shows how insane he is.’

At that moment, another aide burst in urgently.

“Breaking news! His Highness Prince Theodore has just visited the Duke of Hyrad’s house! It seems to be because of Lady Yurika Medes.”

Lean’s face, which had been worried about Yurika, became even more wrinkled.

“Why would the prince – who had announced his engagement – go there? It’s like those crazy wizards clinging to a divine beast….”

Realizing she had said something terrible, Lean instinctively smacked her own mouth.

Comparing them to wizards clinging to divine beasts—that thought alone was already a disaster, so she hurriedly pulled her words back into her mind.

Theodore arrived at Duke Hyrad’s house shortly afterward.

Theodore, with his brilliant silver hair and round blue eyes, had an extremely kind impression.

‘I’m so glad.’’

Yohan’s adjutant, who knew well the feelings Yohan had for Yurika, looked at Theodore and thought to himself.

‘Since His Highness is already engaged…’

To anyone, the kind and reliable-looking Theodore seemed far more fitting for Yurika, who appeared both cute and capable.

‘No matter how much the Duke smiles, he always seems decadent. He could never give off such a refreshing atmosphere….’

But the adjutant’s relief did not last long.

As soon as Theodore arrived at the duke’s house, he started smiling brightly at Yurika.

“Lady Medes, it’s truly a pleasure to see you here.”

His attitude — unmistakably flirtatious — hardly seemed appropriate for a prince who was already engaged.

“Your Highness, what brings you to Duke Hyrad’s house?”

Yurika greeted him with a somewhat stiff expression, maintaining the bare minimum of courtesy, but Theodore spoke gently without being offended at all.

“Well, as royalty, isn’t it only natural for me to visit a war hero?”

And immediately, he switched his attitude and added in a bright, cheerful voice,

“But actually, I came to see Lady Medes.”

Of course, at those words, Yohan’s face froze grimly.

Theodore continued,

“You left quite an impression at the banquet.”

Even Yurika seemed to have trouble maintaining a neutral expression at that.

Needless to say, Yohan looked terrifying.

For the first time in his life, the adjutant was grateful for the world’s rule that ‘Wizards cannot use magic on the royal family.’

If it weren’t for that restriction, Theodore might already have been turned into a swing, a bench, or even a tree in the garden.

“Me?”

Yurika blinked and asked calmly.

“You made an important engagement announcement that day, so why me, of all people…?”

“Because you’re pretty. And cute.”

His tone was unmistakably flirtatious, clearly showing his affection.

“I kept thinking about you, and eventually, I wanted to see you again.”

It was a shameless attitude, hard to believe coming from a man who had just announced his engagement a few days ago… but he looked so genuinely kind that it was hard to even curse him.

“I think that might be rude to say that to someone else’s lover.”

Yohan pulled Yurika’s shoulder as if he were looking at her and spoke stiffly.

“I have no interest in Your Highness’s engagement, but Yurika is my lover.”

Yurika also nodded vigorously as if she agreed. Her face also looked very unpleasant.

“Anyway,”

Theodore shrugged nonchalantly, speaking as if Yohan’s declaration meant little to him.

“Are you sure you’re going to let me stand like this? My legs are starting to hurt a little.”

Yohan stared coldly at Theodore for a long moment. But when Yurika shifted uncomfortably, he let out a soft sigh and said,

“Please come in.”

His tone naturally says, ‘Not that you’re welcome’.

If the Empire weren’t a class-based society, Yohan’s face made it obvious he would have slammed the door in Theodore’s face.

No, if he weren’t worried about causing trouble for Yurika, Yohan would have kicked Theodore out already.

‘No… just kicking him out might’ve been the least of it. It might have made the situation more serious.’

The adjutant kept biting his fingernails because the whole situation was so tense.

Yohan has been quite sensitive these days.

It was because he hadn’t been taking his calming potions for a long time.

He knew very well how painful it was for a wizard to go without regular calming treatments.

Especially for a great wizard like Yohan, it must have taken tremendous willpower just to maintain his composure.

Aside from applauding Yohan’s self-control in keeping the calming potion in the warehouse, the adjutant was still uneasy.

‘If he somehow gets a chance to lose control, won’t he reveal his instincts?’

No, even without an external trigger, he could simply lose rationality and erupt in anger.

The adjutant, who could not follow Yohan to the living room, prayed inwardly that nothing would happen.

‘Lady Yurika probably didn’t know just how unstable Master Yohan was right now, so she wouldn’t be able to step in at the right moment either.’

‘Please, please, let Master Yohan endure it well, and let the prince not cross the line.’

However, contrary to the adjutant’s wishes, the atmosphere in the living room where Yurika, Yohan, and Theodore entered together became increasingly tense.

“I guess it’s a bit hard to stay at the Duke of Medes. Lady? I can tell you’re out in a hurry. Of course, I think you did well. I really want to compliment you on that.”

Because Theodore, smiling brightly, only talking to Yurika.
