My Tamed Beast Returned with a Dragon Chapter 41 - I Need to Look Into It More Closely
Even before Hunter’s Night had officially begun, the spotlight was already burning hot around Eunsae.
Reporters clamored to interview her, while hunters gathered for their own reasons stood frozen, stunned.
‘I feel a little bad.’
Eunsae rubbed the back of her neck. Even if the party was meant to introduce Bomi, for the other hunters, this event was likely a huge opportunity.
Still, once she left, the main event—the guild showcase and recruitment—would begin.
Then the spotlight would shift to them. Since she had only agreed to attend party, Eunsae planned to leave right after.
“We’ll send out the official article to all major newspapers tomorrow morning.”
As the atmosphere grew increasingly chaotic, Hunter Kim Yoon-hee, head of Dochun’s operations team, and Hunter Shim Jae-beom, head of the Korean Hunter Association’s security team, stepped in to manage the press.
Warned that they’d be removed from the premises, the reporters reluctantly held their questions. But the flashing cameras aimed at Eunsae and Bomi didn’t stop.
It seemed they were planning to upload photos at least. Watching them, Eunsae suddenly remembered something and asked Belquior,
“Oh, right—Lord Belquior. Is it okay if you get photographed? Does your perception-dulling magic work on cameras too?”
“That sparkling thing? It doesn’t matter. The image will likely come out blurry.”
Like a misfocused shot?
But if every photo came out that way, people were bound to ask questions.
And just as she expected, netizens who saw the real-time uploads from reporters at the event began to stir—wondering why that one spot was so blurry.
Some claimed Eunsae’s glow had drained the life from the camera, others speculated it was a ghost—wild theories flew around online.
Unaware of the commotion, Eunsae dazzled the party with her beasts in a stunning display.
This time, even Hwangsae and Baekhap joined in. Hwangsae let loose with flair he’d hidden until now, while Baekhap, with his shimmering and toughening scales, drew massive interest from the female hunters.
[I can do something cool and amazing too!]
Byeol, watching the other beasts receive attention, confidently declared herself.
“Really, Byeol? Can you scatter little lights like fireflies?”
[Yes! I’ll try!]
Byeol’s yellow forsythia-like magic shimmered to life. Fwhoosh! A flurry of white lights rained down over the banquet hall and the connected outdoor garden.
It looked like a holiday illumination you’d see on winter streets.
“What is this? Who did this? It’s so pretty…”
“Could it be Hunter Kim Yuha? He’s the only one who can handle light-type abilities with such precision.”
All eyes turned to Yuha in his wine-colored suit. He shook his head, signaling it wasn’t his doing.
Wait, it wasn’t Hunter Kim Yuha?
“Huh? Then who…”
“Newbies or regular hunters couldn’t possibly manage this…”
People grew confused, scanning the room for any other possible light-type ability users. Watching them, Byeol giggled into his paw.
[Heehee. I did it!]
“That’s right~ Our Byeol did it.”
The two whispered to each other sweetly. Byeol had grown capable of controlling her power well after spending time with Eunsae.
Eunsae, proud, patted Byeol’s head. Then she looked around for Bomi—and suddenly froze.
“Oh! Bomi’s asleep. Should I take her?”
It was past bedtime after all. Bomi had dozed off, curled up in Belquior’s arms, softly purring in sleep.
She really had no fear—falling asleep in a dragon’s arms like it was nothing.
Still, thanks to Belquior’s perception-dulling magic, Bomi could rest undisturbed, hidden from view.
Belquior glanced down at the sleeping Bomi. Sensing Eunsae’s concern, he quietly shook his head.
“She’s fine. Go enjoy the party.”
Leaving those words behind, Belquior disappeared into the crowd.
“Where are you going?”
Startled, Eunsae tried to follow him, but her friends called her first.
“Yoo Eunsae!”
Sol shouted from afar. She had surrendered her wish to wear LEDs and instead wore a classy yellow dress, and looked proud and beautiful.
Seeing her friends rushing over, Eunsae waved with a smile.
“Have a great night, everyone.”
“To see Yoo Eunsae out in public at this hour… I’m emotional…”
“Pipe down. Don’t be dramatic, Kim Yuha.”
Mirinae quipped at Yuha, who was pretending to dab tears onto his sleeve. The friends had purposefully entered late so Eunsae could have her moment in the spotlight.
Wearing a sky-blue dress with large pearl embellishments and her ash-grey hair swept to one side, Mirinae approached Eunsae. Her graceful neckline stood out.
Leaning in slightly, she whispered to Eunsae,
“Hey. The one who just walked off—was that Lord Belquior?”
“Huh? How did you know?”
No one else had recognized him. Surprised, Eunsae looked at her, and Mirinae just shrugged.
“There was someone next to you that no one could recognize. And you don’t let just anyone near you.”
“Oh, that’s what you meant?”
Eunsae burst out laughing. True, she didn’t let many people close aside from her friends. But the certainty in Mirinae’s tone was still funny.
Staring toward where Belquior had vanished, Mirinae murmured in admiration,
“So you can do that with magic… That’s incredible.”
“I think so too.”
“By the way, have you eaten? You were busy with your beasts again, weren’t you?”
“Ah~ I forgot.”
“I told you to build a habit of eating on time. What are you going to do when you get older?”
“I’m fine.”
Lately, it was different. Belquior had been making sure she ate properly, so she hadn’t even felt hungry.
Eunsae half-listened to Mirinae’s scolding, then looked down at Byeol in her arms and asked,
“Byeol, want something to eat? They’ve got lots of tasty stuff here.”
[Mmm, I want something sweet.]
“Okay! Then let’s go get dessert!”
“Yoo Eunsae, eat your meal first!”
This was a hotel—if she asked the chefs, she could have anything. Still, Eunsae headed toward the cake, macarons, jelly, and ice cream table.
And she let Byeol eat to her heart’s content. Byeol, delighted, savored every bite of the sweets. She had only recently discovered, thanks to Eunsae, just how delicious the world could be.
While the two enjoyed their happy moment, Belquior stood by the wall with sleeping Bomi in his arms. His golden eyes were fixed on Eunsae, who was cheerfully feeding Byeol.
When Byeol got chocolate on her lips, Eunsae quickly pulled out a handkerchief from her bag to wipe her clean. Ironically, she had whipped cream on her own lips.
One of her friends teased her and handed her a napkin. Eunsae smiled sheepishly and thanked her.
‘How can someone be that happy.’
Belquior found himself replaying the moment Eunsae had stepped into the room earlier.
As a dragon, he had a sharp aesthetic sense, honed over an incredibly long life filled with experience.
He’d even met women of mythical beauty—the kind said to bring ruin to nations. (One had actually been a playful dragon kin.)
But never had he been so shaken as today. So much so that his heart had almost… stung.
‘Bondmate…’
The bond-mark remained quiet. So no—Eunsae wasn’t his mate. Still, why did he feel this way? He couldn’t say.
With a complicated look, Belquior turned his head—and spotted a man.
He was dressed entirely in black. Eunsae had once told him that hunters often wore strange outfits, which was why no one questioned Belquior’s own clothing when the baby photo was released.
‘A strange one.’
The man’s energy was different from everyone else here. He couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was, but there was something… off. Something that didn’t belong.
Something about him clashed with the world around him—like a distortion at the boundary.
Belquior quietly observed the man, then gently shifted Bomi in his arms and glanced over at Eunsae and Byeol.
‘…It’ll be fine.’
The man wasn’t moving. Even if he was strange, he was just a human. There was no need for Belquior to concern himself.
He turned away.

The man Belquior had noticed. Cheon Chang-hyeon, had come to the Hunter’s Night event, hosted by the Dochun Group and the Korean Hunter Association, to see Yoo Eunsae’s condition with his own eyes.
And silently, he was shocked.
‘Impossible.’
How could Yoo Eunsae look so perfectly fine? It was completely different from what he knew to be true.
‘At this point in time, her condition should’ve deteriorated so much that she could barely move.’
Sometime soon from now, she was supposed to die from the worsening curse of the Dungeon boss. But no matter how he looked at her, she didn’t just seem okay—she looked well.
And now there was even a new beast, a dragon.. and then…
‘ Even Chuntian de Yaoqing!’
Chang-hyeon bit his lip. Something had changed. A chill crept up from his fingertips.
He quickly left the banquet hall and strode down the corridor.
‘I need to investigate further.’
If the past had changed, then the tasks ahead of him had to change too. He might need to revise all the plans he had carefully laid out.
‘Several things have gone off track.’
There wasn’t much time. If he wanted to move efficiently, he would need powerful pieces to use on the board.
Without hesitation, he left the hotel and headed straight for the Gold Star Guild.
