Love Born of Pity Chapter 73
Since waking up, Kwon Jiho hadn’t been able to be alone for a single moment. A guard even followed him to the bathroom. No matter how much he pleaded that he wouldn’t do anything dangerous, they were unyielding. This situation of going into the bathroom and coming back out without having resolved anything repeated itself. After holding it in for so long that his lower abdomen began to ache, he started to feel resentful towards Do Yeonjae.
Even though he obsessively avoided drinking even a sip of water, his body, hydrated by the IV drip, sent signals when the time came. Kwon Jiho held it in with all his might. He didn’t want to show such a sight to the person watching him. But no matter how hard he tried to forget the thought of needing to go to the bathroom, the urge only grew stronger.
Watching Kwon Jiho groaning on the bed, Hwang Gicheol fidgeted anxiously before telling the guard that he would go in with him. Even when he said something bad might happen at this rate, the guard firmly stopped him. Kwon Jiho shed thick tears. He began to wait more desperately for Do Yeonjae to finish work. He felt a sense of self-loathing for becoming so base in the face of a physiological need.
Drrrr— The sound of the door opening was heard. The gazes of Kwon Jiho, who had been crouched in a corner of the bed, tearing at his thighs; Hwang Gicheol, who had been watching him; and the guard, who stood rigidly guarding the room, all turned to one spot.
A familiar scent spread faintly, reaching Kwon Jiho. Kwon Jiho, his eyes soaked, let out a small sob. Hwang Gicheol bowed his head deeply and, urging the slowly moving guard, hurried out of the room.
“Di, Director…….”
“Couldn’t go again today?”
Do Yeonjae was satisfied with Kwon Jiho’s simplicity, moving exactly as he willed. He even felt a thrill from the fact that he was controlling everything—what he ate, what he wore, how he slept, and even how he relieved himself.
Do Yeonjae, smiling with one corner of his mouth raised, quickened his pace at the desperate voice calling him. He knew why Kwon Jiho was welcoming him so eagerly.
“Quickly…….”
On the first day the guard was posted, Kwon Jiho ultimately couldn’t hold his bladder and had an accident. In his shock, he spoke words of resentment for the first time, and the next day, Do Yeonjae came home from work late. Waiting for him, he soiled his clothes and the bedsheets again.
The guard, whose entire focus was on comings and goings in and out of the room, didn’t notice. Fortunately or unfortunately, only Hwang Gicheol grasped the situation. He was the only one who understood the feeling of being about to faint from shame.
He quietly handed him a fresh set of hospital clothes and even shielded him from the view of the nurse who occasionally came in to check the IV. His words, saying it was okay to have an accident, were of no comfort at all.
Only after reaching that point did Kwon Jiho understand that without Do Yeonjae, he couldn’t handle anything on his own. He felt he vaguely knew what he wanted. So, he no longer resented Do Yeonjae.
He refused Hwang Gicheol’s helping hand and clung to Do Yeonjae, who arrived late, crying. Not even knowing what he had done wrong, he begged that he would never do it again and washed with his help.
Once he acted obediently, Do Yeonjae’s return from work became earlier again. Kwon Jiho waited for him all day. Today, and probably tomorrow too. It was certain that he would wait for all the days to come.
Do Yeonjae lifted Kwon Jiho, who was shedding tears every time he blinked. He went straight to the bathroom, pulled down his underwear, and stood him in front of the toilet. Kwon Jiho, his face flushing beet-red with shame, sobbed.
Trickle. The stream of urine, which had been thin from being held in for so long, gradually grew thicker. It didn’t stop quickly either. Do Yeonjae stood by Kwon Jiho’s side and observed the scene intently. The expression of wanting to hide anywhere, biting his lip and trembling as his hands clutched his clothes.
Drip, drop. After wiping away the drops that formed at the tip of his glans and flushing, he took him into the shower booth. He untied the knots of the garment held together by a few strings. The cloth covering his entire body fell away easily. Kwon Jiho no longer refused what Do Yeonjae bestowed upon him. He had realized that it only prolonged the painful times.
He habitually layered his pheromones onto the sniffling Kwon Jiho. The lips that let out a sorrowful breath parted for a moment, and then his eyes closed. A tear that had gathered on his eyelashes rolled down his cheek.
“Did you eat.”
“……Pardon?”
“Dinner, did you eat.”
“Ah……. Dinner, I ate dinner.”
Kwon Jiho nodded his head vigorously. Did I eat? He couldn’t remember. He thought he might have starved all day, worried he would need to use the bathroom.
“If you lie, I won’t come to the hospital. I won’t come at all.”
Lie, won’t come. The eyes that had been staring only at Do Yeonjae’s lips quickly clouded over. His whimpering voice was completely muffled, but Do Yeonjae understood it without difficulty.
“I’m, I’m hungry. I waited for you, Director. Hic, it’s true. This isn’t a lie.”
Do Yeonjae didn’t believe what Kwon Jiho was saying, but he couldn’t help but let him get away with the words “I waited for you.” His handsome face softened gently. Kwon Jiho stretched out the arm connected to the needle. He borrowed Do Yeonjae’s hands for brushing his teeth and washing his hair as well.
They had sex once in the small space. Kwon Jiho got a nosebleed from the shower of pheromones that poured down as if it were a matter of course. Do Yeonjae now noticed that the nosebleeds were because of his pheromones.
“It burst again.”
“……”
“Is it because you’re tired this time, too?”
“……Pardon? Ah…….”
Kwon Jiho, his face flushed from crying deliriously in pleasure, looked up at Do Yeonjae. With frequent exposure to the pheromones, his sight and hearing had returned to a state not much different from before. Unable to make out the voice mixed with the sound of water, Kwon Jiho just nodded his head vaguely.
Do Yeonjae thought he should put Kwon Jiho to sleep and then meet with the attending physician. The fingers pinching his nose had no strength, so Do Yeonjae stopped the bleeding for him instead. As the pheromones were brought under control, the nosebleed gushed out before quickly stopping. Do Yeonjae naturally drained what had collected inside Kwon Jiho.
After the affair, which was neither long nor short, was over, his legs were trembling so much that he had to be carried out in Do Yeonjae’s arms. While a meal was being set up on the table in the corner of the room, Kwon Jiho closed his eyes and entrusted his head to his touch. The warm air thoroughly dried the moisture from his hair.
After having a late dinner together, he was allowed to go up to the rooftop garden with Do Yeonjae. It was an outing permitted only once a day, for a short time. The first time he came up here with him, Kwon Jiho had imagined jumping over the railing and throwing himself off.
“What are you thinking.”
Do Yeonjae blocked Kwon Jiho, whose gaze was fixed on the transparent glass wall, and frowned. Kwon Jiho didn’t answer and just smiled faintly. Suddenly becoming anxious, Do Yeonjae muttered a curse and pulled Kwon Jiho away.
“Don’t even think about pulling any crazy stunts.”
Kwon Jiho tightly gripped Do Yeonjae’s hand as he moved away from the glass wall. Wanting to feel the cold, refreshing wind for even a little longer, he craned his neck. As soon as they passed through the entrance, a warm temperature touched his cheek, as if they had never been outside.
Kwon Jiho’s gaze turned backwards, filled with disappointment. The outing had ended in what felt like less than five minutes. It was probably clear that today was the last outing. He could tell Do Yeonjae was in a bad mood without having to ask.

On Do Yeonjae’s orders, Kwon Jiho had to undergo a detailed examination again. He hadn’t heard the explanation properly, so he didn’t know exactly what they were trying to check, but everything from a blood test to an obstetrics and gynecology consultation was scheduled in a line. As he sat in front of the blood collection room waiting for his turn, someone stopped in front of him.
At the long shadow cast before him, Kwon Jiho lifted his head. Standing there was Kang Gyumin, more beautiful than any painting hanging in the hospital corridor, frowning slightly.
“……Hello.”
“What are you doing here? Are you sick somewhere?”
Kwon Jiho, his gaze on the moving lips, couldn’t read the quickly passing shape of the mouth and lowered his eyes. Kang Gyumin’s gaze shifted as if in surprise. The man sitting close beside him, and the guard who didn’t suit the hospital. Moreover, the bandage wrapped tightly around the left wrist, revealed through the loose hospital gown, held his gaze for a long time.
“If you have time, would you like to have some tea? Ah, I’m Director Kang of Geonyeong. I’m sure you already know, of course.”
Hwang Gicheol didn’t know who Kang Gyumin was. When a person he was meeting for the first time said he would of course know him, he looked at the guard behind him with a flustered expression. The guard just bowed his head deeply without a word.
“Good day.”
“Is it okay to have a moment with Mr. Jiho?”
“It is not.”
Regardless of the fact that Kang Gyumin was Do Yeonjae’s fiancée, he could not arrange a separate meeting. He didn’t have the authority to do so, and in the first place, the contract itself was to not leave the side of the person he was protecting.
“Not even for a moment?”
“It is not.”
The guard who had been standing behind Kwon Jiho came out and blocked the way completely. Kang Gyumin took a step back at the unusual sight and atmosphere.
“Then it’s okay to sit together while we wait, right?”
Before even hearing the guard’s answer, Kang Gyumin sat down in the seat next to Kwon Jiho. Then he asked Hwang Gicheol to buy him an iced coffee because he was thirsty. Seeing his wary expression, Kang Gyumin smiled. Unlike the guard, this old man didn’t seem to know him, so he reluctantly introduced himself.
“Mr. Yeonjae and I are getting married next spring. Are you new? You really should know who I am.”
“……Pardon? Ah, I apologize.”
“Shall we get an iced tea for Mr. Jiho? Peach? Lemon? Let’s go with peach. It suits you.”
