<An Uninvited Guest Arrived.>

Yuri Kiselov, who had lived his life at rock bottom dealing only with his own kind, one day encountered something unfamiliar. He took on a commission to protect Cheriot Gutnight—a famous North American sports star who couldn’t have been further from Yuri’s detestable world.

“You’re even prettier up close, handsome.”

From their very first meeting, Cheriot—despite being an alpha himself—was throwing flirtatious remarks at Yuri. Watching him, Yuri felt that they were utterly incompatible and thought he could never grow close to someone like this.

“So Yuri was trash after all.”

And as expected, no sooner had he taken the commission than their relationship quickly deteriorated to its worst. Cheriot, who loathed criminals to the extreme, pushed Yuri away the moment he learned his true identity, lashing out with sharp words without hesitation—a stark contrast to his earlier eager approach, now replaced with open hostility.

But what Yuri had assumed was a simple romantic entanglement soon escalated into a threat on Cheriot’s life. Reluctantly, Yuri took on the role of protecting him until Cheriot could find a new bodyguard.

“Didn’t you say you didn’t even want to touch a bad guy?”

“Disliking you and touching you are separate matters.”

Even though Cheriot knew full well that Yuri was a criminal, unlike his initial attitude, he began, at some point, to utter sweet words that confused Yuri.

“What do you take me for, Yuri? Carrying someone like you is nothing. Hockey players aren’t just good at fighting—we’ve got strength too.”

“Do you like that type? Is any omega fine as long as they’re one?”

“No matter how you look at it, I’m better-looking, aren’t I? Even in terms of being pretty, it’s me, isn’t it?”

The man Yuri had thought of as merely frivolous casually placed things in his hands that Yuri had never once been able to grasp—

And in the end, made Yuri covet a heart he should never have dared to desire.

Even knowing they could never be together, a spark had already ignited in Yuri’s heart, and his devoted journey to protect Cheriot began.

He flirts with anyone he takes a liking to, even if he’s just met them, and has never actually dated anyone—just kept partners on the side—making him seem like a frivolous person. However, the more you get to know him, the more it seems there’s a reason behind his actions.

Male Lead (Bottom): Yuri Kiselov, 185cm, 32 years old. Former mafia. He grew up in harsh circumstances and was forced into a life in the organization due to his parents’ debts. He comes across as rough and taciturn, but toward those he loves, he is endlessly patient and devoted. However, because of his past, he believes he has no right to love anyone.

Read this when: You want a love story like a midsummer movie, and want to see a devoted bottom’s unrequited love and the top’s poignant realization of that devotion.

Relatable Excerpt: Outside his role as a bodyguard, Yuri wasn’t even close enough to Cheriot to call him a friend—they were barely past the one-week mark of knowing each other, closer to strangers than anything. Even if some intense emotion had passed between them, their current relationship couldn’t be defined as anything special. Yuri was nothing to Cheriot.
