Love Born of Pity Chapter 89
Do Yeonjae and Chief Kim stopped in front of room 505 of the Gungjeon Motel. Gungjeon… what palace, my ass. Do Yeonjae muttered lowly, expressing his utter dissatisfaction that he had been brought to such a shithole.
Chief Kim listened to his boss’s irritation as he slowly looked around the motel. It was the newest establishment in the area, and in his eyes, it seemed clean enough.
Of course, if one looked closely, shoddy parts could be seen, but who among those visiting an accommodation would inspect it that thoroughly? Everyone would have more pressing matters on their mind.
“So he hasn’t come out of here yet.”
“……Yes, that is correct.”
Do Yeonjae placed his hand over the doorbell and closed his eyes. He took a long breath out, then in, and at that moment, opened his eyes and pressed his finger down.
Ding, ding-dong, di- ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-dong, di- ding-dong, ding-dong.
He pressed the bell as if he couldn’t wait a single second. He was in such a rush that the doorbell sound didn’t even ring properly, as if it were buffering.
“What the hell are they doing, why is he taking so long to answer?”
Even as he said this, Do Yeonjae’s finger did not stop. He spouted a string of curses and waited a few more seconds.
Just as Chief Kim reached out to stop him, a voice from inside asked who it was. It wasn’t Kwon Jiho. Do Yeonjae’s expression twisted viciously. After a few more frantic presses of the bell, the sound of the lock disengaging was finally heard.
“Who is it?”
Click.
The moment the door opened, Do Yeonjae grabbed the handle and yanked it wide. What the hell were you doing in there to be opening it just now? The chilly murmur was too loud to be just a thought to himself and was clearly heard by both Chief Kim and Ha Seongho, who had opened the door.
“Who… who are you?”
He was now face to face with the young alpha he had only seen in pictures. Do Yeonjae silently scrutinized the dumbfounded kid as if he were going to eat him alive.
“He looks better in the pictures.”
That was his childish first impression. His next interest was not in evaluating his looks, but in why his cheeks were red.
“Pardon?”
“Move.”
“Suddenly, what, hey, sir. Don’t you think you have the wrong room? What is this rude-”
Before he could even grab the entering body, Do Yeonjae roughly pushed Ha Seongho aside and strode into the room. He shot a fierce glare at the boy who tried to grab him and quickly passed by. Normally, he would have naturally used his pheromones to pin him down, but Do Yeonjae barely managed to suppress his instincts. Because Kwon Jiho was inside.
As he walked down the corridor that was less than five steps long, he focused all his senses on his hearing. The sound of bedding rustling and crinkling. A soft swish, skkk sound of sheets rubbing together.
In just a few steps, the entire small room was revealed, but there was no sign of Kwon Jiho. As if he truly detested him, he was hidden under the covers.
“Kwon Jiho.”
“……”
“Kwon Jiho.”
Before his name was called a third time, the blanket slipped down. The face of Kwon Jiho was revealed, his cheeks flushed red and thoroughly wet, as if he had been crying. He had lost so much weight that his jawline was prominent. It was sharper than it had looked in the photos.
“Ha. What are you doing here?”
“……”
“What kind of place do you think this is, following some brat you barely know in here? Even if you’re fearless, if that thing were to rape you in here, who do you think would help?”
As they say, to the jaundiced eye, all is yellow. Do Yeonjae nonchalantly voiced an unreasonable thought. The large, wounded eyes filled with tears, which then streamed down his cheeks. His chapped lips parted and closed repeatedly.
The closer he got to the bed, the more Kwon Jiho’s body trembled, unable to hide his anxiety. Seeing his shoulders flinch violently, Ha Seongho grabbed Do Yeonjae’s arm.
“Hey, mister!”
“What?”
“Ra-rape? What the fuck. What kind of rampage is this, barging into someone else’s room? Are you crazy? Get out now before I call the police.”
“You’re the stranger here, not me. The one who needs to get out is you, not me. You’re as clueless as you look.”
Do Yeonjae shook off the arm that held him as if brushing off dirt. Then, he muttered threateningly.
“Why don’t you get out when I’m asking nicely.”
“Hyung, who on earth is this mister, what’s wrong with him?”
Do Yeonjae scoffed as if dumbfounded by his confident attitude, as if he were something to Kwon Jiho.
“Can’t you tell just by looking? I’m the father of the baby in that stomach. Get out.”
Kwon Jiho, filled with a gulp of fear, let out a small gasp and shook his head. With a voice trembling so much it was pitiful, he barely managed to speak.
“……Se-Seongho, Seongho-ssi. I… hic, please don’t go.”
“Kwon Jiho.”
“We’re no-nothing to each other anymore. So……”
At the tearful voice, Ha Seongho nodded his head vigorously. Vowing not to leave and to stay by his side, he took a step toward Kwon Jiho but was stopped by a strong grip.
“Fuck, where do you think you’re going.”
“Ah, this mister, really. What’s wrong with you? You’re fucking weird, unlike how you look. Didn’t you hear him say not to go? Jiho hyung told me not to go. Are you a stalker, maybe?”
He got his petty revenge with a sharp glare and a voice raised a tone, but it only served to fuel Do Yeonjae’s anger.
“Shit, what a load of bullshit. Stop fooling around and get out. Chief Kim, what are you doing just standing there blankly? Did you come all this way to watch a show?”
At the sharp jab, Chief Kim finally stepped awkwardly inside. Kwon Jiho’s eyes darted between Chief Kim and Ha Seongho. Do Yeonjae, irritated even by this, moved his body to block his line of sight. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him, and he’s looking at them.
“Take him and get out.”
“Ah, no……”
“What do you mean, no, you fucker. Are you going to keep this up?”
At the sharp rebuke, Kwon Jiho shut his mouth and only let tears fall. It was a familiarly terrifying feeling. His trembling pupils followed Ha Seongho’s movements over Do Yeonjae’s shoulder.
Chief Kim, who had been politely suggesting that he step outside for a moment, saw Do Yeonjae’s increasingly impatient demeanor and simply grabbed Ha Seongho and dragged him out.
Ha Seongho was dragged away helplessly. He thought he could easily shake him off, but the man holding him was surprisingly strong.
“Ah, who is this mister now. Hey! Sir, hyung said he doesn’t want this! Are you crazy?”
“Let’s you and I stay outside for a moment. I apologize.”
Chief Kim smiled gently and strode forward. He barely managed to ignore Kwon Jiho’s gaze, which seemed to be pleading for his help as well.
It was almost laughable how easily Ha Seongho was led out of the room, despite his struggles and attempts to lean back and resist being dragged. The door closed, and Ha Seongho stared at Chief Kim with a dumbfounded expression.
“Look here.”
“The President is right. This is not a matter for you or me to interfere in, Seongho-ssi.”
“Why not? Jiho hyung obviously hates it.”
At the natural way his name was spoken, Ha Seongho’s eyes widened in surprise, but he still gave a childish reply.
He was angry at the situation where he could do nothing but be overpowered. The fact that this gentle-looking man who seemed like a personal secretary was so strong was even more frustrating. All he had done was help Kwon Jiho, who had no energy left after the IV drip, to the motel to rest. What on earth was all this? No matter how he tried to think of it positively, he couldn’t understand.
“If anything happens to hyung, I won’t let you get away with it.”
“You don’t have to worry about that. That will absolutely never happen.”
As if he couldn’t believe the confident assertion, Ha Seongho pressed his ear right against the door, concentrating on any sound. He was prepared to call the police or break down the door if he heard so much as a scream for help, but in reality, not even a small voice could be heard from inside.

Kwon Jiho thought the time had finally come. The timing was much earlier than he had anticipated, but it was a situation he had to face at least once. Nevertheless, the trembling of his body wouldn’t stop.
“What kind of close relationship do you have with that brat to be asking him for help?”
“……”
“And your state, what’s with it.”
His appearance was visibly shabby. His thin shoulders flinched at the irritably spat-out words. Do Yeonjae approached the bed. He wanted to get a closer look. The weather had gotten chilly, but where had he gotten such clothes to wear?
Dressed in clothes borrowed from the kid he was with, he looked like he was wearing a sack. In any case, there was not a single thing he liked about this.
“……Why did you come all this way?”
“Why did you come here?”
“……I just… didn’t want to live with you anymore……”
Kwon Jiho replied quietly, tears streaming down as he thought. Is there something else I have to repay? Shameless as it was, he thought he had paid it all back with Kang Gyumin’s help. In the end, he was right back where he started.
“That’s not going to work.”
If it’s not because of the debt, could it be because Do Yeonjae had also found out what was growing inside his body?
