I’m Trying to End This Possession Chapter 101
“Noah,” Dana called his name, gasping for breath. “Stop there, Noah.”
“Why are you…”
Noah looked down at her with bewildered eyes. His expression was one of utter disbelief. Then, he suddenly realized it a moment later. His face, hair, hands, and clothes were all covered with blood. He looked like a murderer who had just committed a massacre.
“Go back, Noah Windsor,” Dana said firmly before he could even think of hiding it. “Go back to the dormitory.”
“…”
To the dormitory? Ah. Only then did he remember that he had left the corpse of that cadet in his room. It was almost time for roll call. Surely, the dormitory supervisor would discover the corpse.
“Move.”
Let whatever happens happen. Noah no longer cared about anything. Whether he would get caught or not.
“Move. I have somewhere to be.”
Dana didn’t step aside, but Noah paid no heed and whipped the reins. The horse then galloped roughly past her.
“Ah!”
Perhaps she had lost her balance because of that. Noah heard the sound of Dana falling behind. Instinctively, he yanked the reins hard and changed direction. Then he hurriedly jumped off the horse.
“…I’m fine.”
“…”
Only then did Noah realize that he had rushed over to that woman in a panic and was helping her up.
Dana grabbed his arm. “Go back, Noah.”
“…”
“Stop it now. Enough. Just stop.”
Noah realized it. That woman knew everything. Well, given his current state, there was no way she wouldn’t have figured it out.
“I can’t stop.”
“Noah.”
“Do you know how vile those men are? You can’t even imagine. Did you really think they just quietly admired your paintings with their eyes?” As he spoke, his anger surged again. Those b*stards must have violated Danae Windsor over and over again in their minds and imaginations. His eyes then burned bright red. “I’ll kill them all.”
I can’t forgive them. Those who insulted this woman, I’ll never forgive them.
“Stay out of this. No matter what happens, I’m going to kill every single one of those b*stards.”
He tried to walk past her, but Dana grabbed him.
“Let go of me.”
“You might die.”
“…”
At those words, Noah stopped and looked down at Dana. She looked quite desperate.
“Don’t go. It’s a trap to catch you. You’ll definitely get caught, and you might die in the process.”
He couldn’t hear what Dana was saying. Only her pale face, bathed in moonlight, stood out. A face filled entirely with thoughts of me… A shiver ran down his spine. His mouth went completely dry, and something stirred within him from somewhere deep inside.
What is this? He didn’t know. But there was one thing Noah knew. That right now, that face was absolutely stunning.
“It doesn’t matter to me. Whether I get caught or not. Whether I live or die.”
“Noah!”
“Why do you keep stopping me? Did you secretly enjoy seeing those paintings sold?”
At that, sparks seemed to fly from her eyes. Her eyebrows twisted in anger. To see that pristine face marred by fury was almost enough to make him feel guilty. But why did I like this face so much?
Noah realized it with devastating clarity. If he couldn’t become this woman’s most passionate love, then he wanted to become her most passionate hatred. If he could become that kind of existence to her, perhaps dying wouldn’t be so bad.
“Move.” Noah shook Dana off and immediately mounted his horse again.
“Noah!”
Without even looking back, Noah rode away.
Dana slumped to the ground with a thud. She watched Noah’s retreating figure grow smaller in the distance. She should chase after him. But… Ah, I feel like I’m going to die. The dizziness that had been washing over her for some time, the raging fever, made her vision spin. The aftereffects of using her power to see time, insight, had come again.
I don’t know anymore. Dana lay sprawled on the ground, gasping for breath. I don’t know. I can’t do it anymore. I’ve done as much as I could do. What did it matter whether Noah died or not? It wasn’t as though she had any affection left for that boy anyway. Right. It’s none of my business. The only reason she came this far was because… she was the reason Noah was committing a crime.
Tonight, Noah Windsor would be shot in the head and die. His beautiful face would be shattered, his skull crushed, his brains spilling out as he died a horrific death. He would die while trying to punish the people who had insulted her.
Dana didn’t like that. She didn’t want to be associated with Noah’s death. Because if she were, she would undoubtedly be haunted by it even after returning to her own world. She would never be able to forget the sight of him being shot in the head and dying instantly.
But this was as far Dana could go. She had done everything within her power. She even went to see Viego, but he had been away again… What more could she possibly do here? Even resisting the darkness closing in on her was difficult.
“Dana.”
At that moment, her body was suddenly lifted up.
“Are you okay?”
Why is this person here? Through her blurred vision, Dana sensed a gentle gaze. A man whose eyes were endlessly tender and kind…
“Uncle?”
“Yes.”
Carl was holding her. He lowered his head and pressed his forehead against hers. Then he lifted his face and clicked his tongue.
“You have a high fever. Let’s go back quickly. Once we’re home, take some medicine and get plenty of rest.”
Dana was confused. Why is Carl here? How had he appeared? From where? How long had he been watching? Did he not see Noah just now?
“Uncle, Noah is.”
“Yes, Noah is.”
“Noah is…”
When Dana hesitated, Carl smiled gently.
“Noah is the culprit?”
What?
“I know too.”
Know? You know?
Carl looked at me intently. “So?”
At that moment, she was suddenly struck by a sense of déjà vu. It was exactly like that time.
So? And? What do you want me to do? Those endlessly clear eyes that seemed to ask such questions. They were exactly the same as back then.
“Don’t worry. Noah will be caught soon. From the looks of it, he’s heading toward the cathedral. There are about a hundred police officers lying in wait there.”
“…”
“It’s unfortunate, but he must pay for his crimes. Don’t you agree?”
Is that so? Is that the right thing?
Perhaps that was the correct answer after all. Regardless of the reason, Noah had committed brutal murders, and he had to pay the price. No matter how much they’re family or relatives, he shouldn’t be protected. That was only right, but…
“Dana, do you know?”
“What?”
“Inspector Lancaster intends to kill the culprit tonight, no matter what happens. He’s declared that he’ll put a bullet in the culprit’s head even if they don’t resist.”
“…”
“He’s determined to kill the murderer who killed his younger brother.”
Having finished speaking, Carl gave her a faint smile. That sight was so beautiful that a chill suddenly crept up the back of her neck.
“Are you just going to watch, Dana?” He whispered smoothly. His voice was gentle and affectionate. “Shall I do it for you?”
“…Do what?”
“Whatever you wish for.” Then he smiled with his eyes, as though a single word from her would be enough.
Right. If it’s this man… This monstrous man might be able to stop Noah, that foolish colt. But…
“Tell me.”
Why didn’t she want to do it?
A terrible sense of discomfort gripped her ankles. It warned her like shackles or a trap. That this was dangerous. Becoming someone who could use this man as freely as she pleaded was an extremely dangerous thing.
“You should hurry and tell me, right?”
Yet the man before her urged her on with an unbelievably harmless expression.
“Try to move me.”
