Ignis’s thoughts creaked along unevenly. What did Dana just say?

“It’s warm.”

Yes, she said it was warm. She spoke to him. That Dana spoke to him. She knew he was in the bathtub, and yet she undressed and got into it.

She wants to bathe with me! The realization struck him like lightning, shocking him to his core. Ignis instinctively tried to stand up but remembered he was naked and stopped himself just in time.

“Hey.”

This wasn’t a dream. It was a reality for real.

Ignis, struggling against the suffocating heat, managed to force out a sentence. “What do you think you’re doing?”

“I’m here to bathe with you.”

“What?”

“Is that not allowed?” Dana tilted her head, asking innocently. Her expression was so pure that it bordered on insolence.

“Of course… it’s not allowed.” He scraped together the fragments of his words. “Get out.” If he looked any longer, he felt like he would truly lose his mind. Ignis covered his face with both hands and shut his eyes. “Get out now.”

“Why?”

“You really…”

“I’ve never bathed myself.”

“…”

What?

Ignis slowly lowered his hands. Dana was looking at him with clear eyes. Then she handed him the soap.

“Please wash me.”

“…”

“I told you, Lord Ignis. I’ve never bathed alone before.”

Never bathed alone? Well, that made sense. She was the daughter of a duke, after all. A lady of a great noble family, the fiancée of the crown prince, a woman revered as a saintess—she must have always been bathed by her maids.

It would be strange for her to bathe herself. Having someone serve her was normal in her world. So naturally, she expected him to bathe her as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

“Hurry up.” Danae Windsor commanded.

In a daze, as if intoxicated, Ignis thought. Could it be that she’s treating me like a sl*ve because I revealed I used to be one? Yes, that must be it. Thinking that way, everything suddenly made sense.

Of course, someone like him wouldn’t be regarded as an uncle. She brought him here to use him as a sl*ve. In fact, that would be easier for Ignis to accept. So, at this moment, she was his master, and he was her sl*ve.

As the final piece of the puzzle fell into place, Ignis felt as if he were slipping into a deep trance. His intellect and reason blurred like steam, becoming impossible to grasp.

“I told you to wash me.”

Now, like a dog without a will of its own, he obeyed her command. It was easy. Doing as he was told was what he had done all his life.

Ignis took the soap from her hand as if in a trance. Then he grasped Dana’s outstretched leg. The moment his hand wrapped around her delicate ankle, he let out a strange, involuntary sound.

Are all women’s bodies like this? It felt as if it might break if he squeezed too hard or melted away entirely. He had never touched anything so fragile and delicate before, and his fingertips tingled.

Ignis lathered her smooth calf with soap. As more suds appeared, his breathing grew heavier. He couldn’t believe that human skin could be so smooth. The feel of it, the curves of her body, thrilled him to his core.

Before he knew it, Dana had moved closer. Perhaps to ensure she was thoroughly bathed. Ignis dutifully followed her wishes. The soap on her milky skin reached up to her chest. Thump, thump. Her heartbeat seemed to pulse right under his palm.

At some point, the soap slipped from his hand and fell to the bottom of the tub. But Ignis didn’t notice. He kept rubbing and kneading her skin without the soap. Her soft flesh overflowed in his large hands. He couldn’t stop touching her. It felt too good.

Suddenly, his mouth itched with a forbidden urge. He wanted to taste her, and the desire was so strong that his head spun.

Then Dana whispered, “You can do whatever you want.” She then gently pulled his head closer.

Dana barely applied any pressure, but Ignis eagerly lowered his head. He couldn’t wait any longer. He buried his face against her and kissed her hungrily. The sweetness in his mouth was so overwhelming that his mouth watered.

‘You can do whatever you want.’ Her voice echoed in his mind like a spinning top. She had given him permission. When the master gives permission, the sl*ve can act. That was the life of a sl*ve. So he did as he wished. He did it because she said he could. Ignis frantically kissed every corner of her body.

“To the bed…” At some point, Dana whispered, her voice breaking.

Ignis lifted her up and carried her out of the tub. When he laid her on the bed, the sheets quickly soaked through, but neither of them cared. For a moment, he looked down at Dana.

“Lord Ignis, hurry…”

She lay there, arms reaching out to him. Her body glowed like it was made of moonlight. So beautiful, soft…

“…”

Ignis clenched his fists. His blood was boiling so fiercely that it hurt. He had never felt so hot before. But he couldn’t go on.

“No.” Ignis muttered hoarsely, pulling away from her body. He spoke as if making a firm decision. “Can’t.”

“…What?”

“I can’t.”

Dana was kind. She was warmer and more gentle than anyone he had ever known. No one had ever shown him such kindness. So there was no way someone like her would treat him like a sl*ve. She would never use him like a sl*ve. Danae Windsor would never do that.

Ignis wanted to believe that and follow this desire to its end, but this woman— This woman was too…

“You shouldn’t be involved with someone like me.”

It wasn’t just that they didn’t belong together. They couldn’t belong together. It was like the earth and the sky trying to meet.

“Hey, Red Dog. Next opponent!”

Suddenly, the voice of his former master echoed in his mind. When he heard that voice, he would always get up and kill someone. He would come back covered in blood and lie down on the cold stone floor to sleep again. Then, he would wake up to the smell of blood.

He, with her? That’s impossible.

Above all, Ignis knew one thing. This moment, this one night that would surely end tonight, would be the only stain in her life, but it would be the only star in his. He would spend his life looking up at a night sky he could never reach, dreaming of it. That terrified him.

“I’m leaving.”

Ignis stood up. He hastily threw on his clothes, intending to sleep outside. But just then, Dana grabbed his wrist. She pulled him back with surprising strength. That made him fall back to the bed.

“Hey…” As he tried to get up again, saying, “What are you doing?” Dana pushed him down, climbing on top of him.

“…”

Her long white hair spilled over his face like a cascade of light. Dana looked down at him from above and smiled. She sparkled. The brightness was blinding, almost as if it would leave him blind.

When had he ever thought her eyes were as innocent as a child’s? When was that? In a past life? Or was it just a figment of his imagination?

Now, the slight smile in her eyes was mesmerizing. It was beyond seductive, almost dangerous. Even if she tore open his chest and took his heart, he wouldn’t notice.

Her pink lips curled up. She whispered with a conqueror’s smile. “Don’t go.”

Huh?”

It was a command. This time, he was sure of it.
