I’m Trying to End This Possession Chapter 162
At that moment, a memory flashed through her mind as if a light had been turned on.
“Uncle, in my world, my name was Yeon Dana.”
Ah, I see. She had mentioned it herself. When was that? When did they have such a conversation…?
“Ah!”
A headache surged suddenly, hitting her like a tidal wave. Dana closed her eyes tightly. Her vision went dark, then white.
“Yeon Dana?”
“Yes.”
“My goodness. Such a cute name. Makes me want to bite it.”
“How do you even bite a name?”
Right, she had forgotten, but they did have such a conversation. Carl definitely said that back then… But when exactly was that?
“Dana?”
Dana lifted her head abruptly, only to see a surprised Carl’s face.
“Are you okay?”
“…”
Dana stared blankly at him, then realized. What is this?
Just moments ago, Dana was sure she stood in the middle of Carl’s bedroom. But right now, she wasn’t in Carl’s bedroom. To be exact, she was in the hallway in front of Carl’s bedroom door. Unable to even knock, she was hesitating and contemplating in the hallway, and there she was, sitting down.
“Dana, are you alright?” Then Carl hurriedly opened the door and approached her. He picked her up briskly and entered his room. “Why? What’s going on? Why are you sitting in front of the door?”
Dana instinctively wrapped her arms around his shoulders for support. Her heart seemed to pound in her throat. But she quickly realized the situation. It was a sensation all too familiar. Her foresight had been triggered. For the first time in a long while, it was on its own. She had opened the bedroom and witnessed the events that were about to unfold.
But… I couldn’t see the future anymore, though? Hadn’t she been unable to see the future related to the holy trial? Then, why could she suddenly see the future again?
“Let me lay you down here. I’ll call a doctor.”
After laying her down on his bed, Carl started to rise. No, he tried to rise.
“Uncle.”
But Dana grasped his arm.
“Don’t go.”
“But.”
“Don’t go, please…”
“…”
Carl looked down at her with concern in his eyes. But that was all. He couldn’t bring himself to shake off her hand and sat down at the foot of the bed instead.
“Poor Dana, you’re burning up.” He touched her forehead, tsking as if he himself were in pain. “Looks like I really need to call a doctor, Dana. You’re running a high fever.”
“…”
“Okay? I’ll be back. Let me go.”
Dana lay in bed, quietly looking up at him.
“Dana? Hmm? Why don’t you answer?”
Disheveled platinum hair, eyes filled with worry, lips that kept twitching. Even in such a state, he looked splendid. And Carl seemed so much like his usual self that what had just happened felt like a nightmare.
But Dana knew. It wasn’t a nightmare. As seen through her foresight, if she demanded the ring, he would refuse sharply as a blade. And if she said she would give her wealth for the ring…
“The ownership of the map can only be transferred through death.”
“You’re trying to go back to being Yeon Dana, aren’t you?”
Ah, I really hate this. In an instant, Dana’s body hair stood on end. A chill swept over her, her spine-tingling.
Carl hadn’t raised his voice or shown anger. But it was so terrifying… It was as if she had seen a ghost. Never again did she want to see Carl’s face like that.
I better not talk about my inheritance. Especially the map of the Holy Land. That seemed to be his sore spot. And more than anything. I must not let him know I’m after the ring.
So, Dana deliberately avoided looking at Carl’s hand, the ring side, fearing her desire for the ring would be detected. If she demanded it, Carl would immediately realize she intended to open the dimensional gate and return to Yeon Dana. Then…
Then what? What would have happened?
Dana didn’t know since she hadn’t seen that far. But it was clear that it wouldn’t have been good.
“Dana, are you really okay?”
So, she absolutely must not let it slip.
“Yes, Uncle…” Dana whispered, clutching his fingers like twining vines. “I have something to tell you.”
“What is it?”
But Dana had no intention of giving up the ring. Absolutely not.
“Tell me. What do you want to say?”
But to this man with the face of a gentle lamb, negotiation didn’t work. Neither tears nor pleas made any difference. So, there was only one method left.
“Uncle.”
“Yes?”
“Do you have any thoughts of divorcing Aunt?”
“…”
Carl’s eyes widened. He looked down at her, then tilted his head in confusion as if he couldn’t believe what he just heard. “Sorry, Dana. Could you say that again?”
“I asked if you had any thoughts of divorcing Aunt.”
“W-Why you ask that?” Carl stuttered, seemingly flustered.
Dana slowly sat up, matching his eye level. His lips tightened visibly. She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in his nape. “Aunt is having an affair…” Choosing to hide her face because she didn’t know which expression to wear. “Uncle, she’s meeting another man behind your back.”
Carl froze, with no response coming from him. Not even the sound of his breathing could be heard. If not for the heartbeat felt through their chests, one might wonder if he had died.
After a long silence, Carl murmured in a voice cracked with emotion. “An affair? Sandra is?”
“Yes.”
“Is that true?”
“It’s true, Uncle. I saw it with my own eyes.”
“That can’t be. I’m shocked.”
“I can’t understand how Aunt could do such a thing when she has such a good husband as you. It hurts my heart so much…” Dana hugged him even tighter as she spoke.
“Uncle, you’re the most precious person to me. More than Viego, more than Noah.” More than anyone. Her whispering lips touched his ear.
“So, I wish for your happiness. Truly.” Saying that, she felt like she was holding the most precious thing in the world. “Did you know? Uncle made me happy.”
“Me?”
“Yes. When my relationship with my former fiancé went awry, it was really tough… but I was able to overcome it thanks to you, Uncle.”
“…”
“I really enjoy the time I spend with you.” She spat out the words with sincere intonation. It felt real, perhaps because she was immersed in it. “To the point where I want to monopolize Uncle.”
Dana thought her voice was passionately hot. Even to her own ears, who knew it was a blatant lie, it sounded so.
“…”
But there was no answer. The silence continued. A deep, heavy silence with a profound temperature.
“I’m sorry.” Deciding this was the right moment, Dana pulled away from Carl with a flushed face. “I’m sorry for bringing up something so strange, Uncle.”
“…”
“I’ll be going now.”
Dana got off the bed and walked past Carl, who remained silent. She didn’t have the courage to see his expression, so she hurried away. Just then,
“Don’t go.” A gentle voice called her back.
Carl had caught her arm. He gently turned her around.
Dana finally saw his face. Carl wasn’t smiling, but it was different from the expressionless face she had glimpsed in the future.
“You can do it, Dana.”
His eyes, his cheeks, and his lips seemed to be made of sugar. As if licking them would taste sweet.
“No, please do.” Carl’s eyes narrowed with a smile. His green eyes sparkled mischievously. “You may do as you wish.”
“…As I wish?”
“Yes. Whatever it is.”
Lies. Dana fought to keep her lips from twisting. What a liar. No matter how much she wanted it, no matter how much she begged, he would never give her that ring.
“I hope you get a divorce, Uncle.”
“Of course, it should be so. Now that I know, I can’t just overlook that.” Carl nodded seriously. “Adultery is despicable and vile, Dana. It’s something that cannot be tolerated or forgiven between a man and a woman. Of course, you know this… but remember.”
For a moment, Dana felt like laughing. No, she felt like crying.
Carl Windsor is both ludicrous and frightening. According to the watcher she had on Sandra, Carl already knew about his wife’s infidelity. He pretended not to know and turned a blind eye… Yet he decided to divorce so easily at Dana’s words.
This man seemed crazy. Dana couldn’t understand. What exactly was inside this man’s heart was beyond guessing.
“I’m relieved.” Yet Dana successfully squeezed out tears of joy.
“Don’t cry. Please?”
“I’m sorry. It was so hard to bring this up. I was afraid that Uncle would be deeply hurt…”
“It’s okay. I’m actually thankful you told me. It seems you’re the only one who worries about me.” Carl wiped her tears.
After receiving his touch for a while, drying the false tears, she asked, “Uncle.”
“Yes?”
“You said you’d grant my wish?”
“Yes.”
“I… want to go on a trip with you.”
“A trip?” Carl raised his eyebrows in surprise at the unexpected request.
Dana averted his gaze, her cheeks flushing. “Anywhere is fine. I just want to get away from the capital for a few days to refresh…”
“…”
“If it’s too much to ask, feel free to refuse.”
“I wouldn’t refuse. I’m fine with it, but…” His voice trailed off, slightly flustered, but it was just for a moment. He laughed softly, patting her head. “Let’s sort out my divorce first. If you still haven’t changed your mind after that, we can talk about it then.”
“Yes.”
Dana thought with a smile. She should have done this from the start. She already took too many detours. I should have aimed to cut off that finger from the start…
Dana climbed to the position of deputy head, thinking it was a safe path, but she failed spectacularly. Now, there was only one method left.
I’ll cut off Carl Windsor’s finger.
She could do it, at least now. It would have been impossible before. And it would be impossible for anyone else. But for Dana Windsor of now, she could do it.
With the intense affection and trust built up to this moment, if he’s willing to divorce Sandra now, Dana could take him completely off guard. She might even succeed in cutting off his finger if luck is on her side and she puts in all effort.
But the problem comes after that. Escaping from the enraged Carl Windsor would be impossible for her alone. She would need a safe place to hide until she could open the dimensional door.
After cutting off that finger and running away, I’ll need help.
Dana closed her eyes and thought of a man. A suitable ally was in her mind.

A week later, Carl Windsor got a divorce. It was the fastest divorce judgment in the empire’s history, with the reason being his wife’s infidelity.

The fact that he already knows the Adultery thing but hearing it from Danae’s mouth must have pleased him greatly lol
As usual, the tension is always thick with this novel. AGHHHHHH I can’t wait for her to go back to being Yeon Dana then the Start of Second book 🤭
I feel like she’s gotten a bit complacent with manipulating them 😭 Letting her relationship with Rumie sour was a bad idea and idk why she thinks she’ll be able to cut off Carls finger! I guess only we really know the extent of their insanity. It occurs to me that he probably knew she was listening in when he was talking to Sandra about killing her? I wonder why he wanted her to hear that
Actually, it seems he doesn’t know for sure.
When they were in that place with the strange tribe, Danae had a vision.
In it, Carl kills the tribe’s chief, his son, and the girl who was hosting them (who is later mentioned as having some connection to Viego and the sanctuary).
When he finishes killing them, Danae points the gun at him, and he mentions that he should have suspected she might have heard them since the door was open. He doesn’t state it outright, but rather expresses doubt, so that’s why I don’t think he left the door open on purpose.
This novel is causing me stress!😮💨
