I’m Trying to End This Possession Chapter 89
“My brother goes on business trips secretly?”
“There were quite a few times he left without disclosing his destination.”
“…”
Come to think of it, it felt like there really had been times like that. Weren’t there often times when even his secretary didn’t know his exact business trip location?
“Viego Windsor is a man who values every single minute and second like gold. When he deals with people, he probably sets a time limit on the conversation.”
“…”
“A man who thinks time is money leaves for somewhere without even revealing his destination and doesn’t come back for a long time. Don’t you find that strange?” As he said that, a mocking smile played on Ignis’s lips. “Unless he’s secretly hiding a woman, it’s suspicious.”
“…”
Dana didn’t respond, but Ignis’s words of suspicion continued.
“Honestly, I find this carriage attack suspicious too. Thinking about it, I started wondering if it was really something the crown prince did.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m blackmailing Viego with the scripture, right? So, how much do you think your brother wants to kill me? Don’t you think so?”
“…” Dana smiled silently. She no longer wanted to continue conversing on this topic. Because there was no need to. “Lord Ignis.”
“What is it, rascal?”
“You mentioned the Windsor family is suspicious. Does that happen to be related to the reason you left Windsor?”
When she asked that, Ignis opened his mouth as if he had been waiting for that question. However…
“…”
He couldn’t bring himself to speak because of those clear eyes staring at him intently.
“Sigh.” Shaking his head as if giving up, he grabbed Dana’s chin. “Forget it. Grow up a bit more. Then I’ll tell you.”
“As you know, I’m already an adult.”
“In my eyes, you’re still a kid, a kid.”
“That’s only because you’ve seen me since I was little.”
“That’s why I’m telling you to grow up a bit more. Only then can we talk about getting married or whatever. What am I supposed to do with a kid like this?” He was still talking about marriage.
I already told you I can’t. Raios wouldn’t annul my engagement.
When Dana stared at him with such eyes, Ignis smiled secretively. Then, he leaned down. “Do you want to run away with me?” And whispered into her ear. “We can just take everything from your vault and run away. How about it? Sounds thrilling, right?”
“…”
Thrilling my feet. Dana didn’t respond.

It was the next morning.
“News has arrived.”
Dana examined the new documents Lethe handed over.
“Here, I’ve retrieved the bullets.” Lethe held out an item on top of the table. It was a box containing two bullets. These were the bullets that had lodged into the wood during the carriage overturn incident, ones Dana had personally gathered at the scene of the accident. “And here is additional information related to that.”
“Thank you, Lethe.”
Dana read through the documents Lethe handed her. Written there was the exact information she had wanted. As expected.
Lethe had found out quickly and accurately. Of course, it was made possible because of the money she provided. Still… As expected, he does his job ridiculously well. It was to the point where she felt like taking him along when returning to her original world.
Dana replied with a smile, “Thank you, Lethe. It’s perfect.”
“Is there any more information you require?”
“No, this will do.” Dana stood up from the chair. “I need to go to the imperial palace now.”
To meet Raios Geranze.

“Ah. Danae Windsor.”
Raios was once again at the imperial palace hunting grounds. He seemed intent on enjoying hunting to his heart’s content before the full force of winter set in.
“What brings you here?”
Mounted on a black horse, his friends were behind him as usual. And as always, they were ignoring Dana.
After glancing at the noble lords who didn’t spare her a single look, Dana shifted her gaze back to Raios. “Can we talk for a moment?”
“Ah, sorry, but as you can see.” Raios gestured to his friends behind him. “It’s a similar situation as before.”
“I see.” Answering smoothly, Dana passed by Raios and headed toward where his friends were. As she approached, she could feel them panicking. Why? Am I carrying a plague or something?
Dana stood beside one noble lord. Then she grabbed his collar. “Count Cedric.”
At that moment, perfect silence descended. It felt as though the air itself had frozen solid. Dana knew that at this very moment, everyone present had tensed up. Not that it mattered.
“We met last time, didn’t we?”
“…”
Count Cedric’s face went pale. His expression seemed to ask what on earth she was talking about. Yet, his gaze remained fixed elsewhere, as if looking at Dana would kill him.
Dana let out a low sigh. Really, what a hassle. “When I was with Justin Lancaster, we bumped into each other in front of the theater, remember?”
“…!”
Dana clearly saw his eyebrows twitch. As expected. You were the one who told Raios back then.
“What a shame. Was it that day, or the day after? Justin died…”
Then, Dana lightly took hold of the tip of Count Cedric’s little finger. At that moment, a strange groan escaped his mouth.
“You mustn’t, Lady. Please.”
Please? Please for what? Not to touch you? If I do, is this finger going to get chopped off or something? Ignoring him, she spread his palm open and placed something on it. It was a bullet.
“…”
Leaving the frozen count behind, Dana turned around. Before she knew it, Raios had dismounted from his horse and was staring at them with his pitch-black eyes. He spoke quietly. “It seems you took a liking to my friend this time.”
“I just had something to return.”
“Why the bullet?”
“You heard the news that I was ambushed on my way in the carriage, right? That’s a bullet retrieved from there. Upon investigation, it turned out Count Cedric bought it while laundering his identity multiple times.”
“So?”
“It must have been your order.”
“So?”
“…”
“So?” Raios asked repeatedly, as if he were genuinely curious. “So what?”
“…”
“What about it?”
For a moment, Dana was left completely at a loss for words. How could a man be so utterly shameless?
“After ambushing my carriage, is that something you can say right now?”
“How dare you.” Raios cut her off. “This is merely the result brought about by your arrogant audacity to believe you could demand an annulment from me and return unharmed, so what about it?”
“…”
Having said that, a dry chuckle escaped between Raios’s lips. “Don’t misunderstand. It wasn’t my doing. I swear to God.”
“Do you think your oaths mean anything to me?”
At that accusation, Raios remained perfectly nonchalant. “Even if it were my doing, I would never admit to having done it. But even if I did, I fail to see what difference it makes.”
Madman. Dana shuddered at his shamelessness. Come to think of it, Raios had always been this kind of man. The type to hold his head up high and act completely righteous even while cheating with Allice.
“Why on earth won’t you grant the annulment?”
“Is demanding an annulment your way of saying you’re breaking up with me?”
“We’ve already broken up.”
“When?”
“What do you mean?”
“When did we break up?” Raios curved the corners of his lips into a smile. “I don’t recall ever having such a conversation.”
