Boy Monster Chapter 29
Hyeon Jaewoong didn’t know the relationship between Lim Geonhwi and Jae Eunho. It was something that couldn’t be hidden forever anyway. Jae Eunho calmed Hyeon Jaewoong down.
“He’s the Army Chief of Staff. Don’t worry. It’s because I broke a promise.”
“Sir, is it my fault? Is it because I followed you? I’m sorry. I did wrong.”
“No, it’s fine. Don’t ever do this again.”
“Sir… No… Don’t go….”
Hyeon Jaewoong, who had chased after him until Eunho got into the car, shouted to Lim Geonhwi just before the door closed.
“I called the captain here. I said there was someone suspected of being a superhuman. It’s my fault. It was a wild goose chase because of me.”
It was Hyeon Jaewoong’s attempt at a clever ruse, born out of worry for Eunho. Lim Geonhwi glanced at Hyeon Jaewoong as if he were an insect and then drove off.
A gloved fist pressed hard against Eunho’s head. Jae Eunho, his face buried in the bed, stifled a scream.
“Thinking that house arrest meant no tracking was necessary was foolish leniency.”
The military baton left multiple red marks on his pale skin. Eunho’s naked body writhed on the sheets with each short lash across his buttocks.
“Why did you go down by the Hangang Bridge, and why did you deactivate your ability again? Do you have any idea what they’ll say higher up!”
“Ugh…! It’s a S.E.T.U secret. I can’t say, even if you’re the Army Chief of Staff.”
“The fact that you went down there alone with that college student junior Hwelju bothers me even more.”
Despite the lashes against his skin, Eunho’s mind was elsewhere. Shi Taehyun’s unresponsive silence at the end bothered him. He felt even more uneasy recalling his words about keeping the electronic anklet safe at home.
He wouldn’t be trying to escape, would he…! Just as his thoughts spiraled to extremes, his body was turned over. Lim Geonhwi, who had laid Eunho down, rolled up his sleeves and took off his watch.
“Today, I plan to torment you more filthily than ever. Your face, with semen sprayed on your swollen cheeks, will be a sight to behold.”
Jae Eunho knew. ‘This too shall pass.’ Lim Geonhwi’s unusual sexual desires ended when he endured them. It ended if he just persevered. Eunho had lived for decades enduring horrific solitude. He wasn’t someone who couldn’t withstand an hour or two.
Just as Lim Geonhwi raised his hand to strike Jae Eunho’s cheek, an urgent signal blared from his phone.
This call, Lim Geonhwi couldn’t ignore. He picked up his phone, which had fallen beside the bed. Glancing at it, it was an emergency call from the Defense Intelligence Agency.
The caller relayed the information in a concise voice. After listening silently, Lim Geonhwi hung up with a single word of acknowledgment.
“I have to go.”
The emergency report was unfortunate for Lim Geonhwi but fortunate for Jae Eunho. Lim Geonhwi, undoing the restraints that bound Eunho’s hands and feet, stood beside the bed and said,
“We’re focusing all of the military’s intelligence resources on your kidnapping attempt, gathering information, and a report just came in that the suspect Shi Taehyun, involved in the smuggling ship case, escaped while on parole.”
“…….”
“What do you think about such a dangerous individual being released outside of prison? Who could have pulled strings?”
A tremendous shock coursed through the wounds on his naked body.
Shi Taehyun escaped?
His body froze in shock. Shi Taehyun’s heavy gaze, intense even in their few encounters, was still vivid.
However, Jae Eunho thought that the reason for his shock wasn’t betrayal by Shi Taehyun, but self-reproach for his mistake. He was ashamed and angry at himself for making a blunder, blinded by the whereabouts of the monster.
Lim Geonhwi rummaged through the safe and informed him.
“You can’t leave this house until those behind the kidnapping are revealed. No emergency deactivation either. Your abilities will be completely controlled.”
The door to this house had two locking mechanisms, top and bottom, installed to lock it from the outside. They were installed when Jae Eunho was placed under house arrest, but because Jae Eunho had served the country for a long time and hadn’t caused any problems, Lim Geonhwi had removed the batteries from the devices.
Lim Geonhwi took out the equipment to activate the locks from the safe.
“All contact with the National Intelligence Service is prohibited, as is contact with S.E.T.U members. And when this is resolved, I’ll personally meet with that Shi Taehyun guy and ask if he knows anything about the parole, so you rest well. When you wake up in a few days, everything will be resolved. I’ll hear your thanks after that.”
Shi Taehyun escaped. He tricked me.
Lim Geonhwi spoke to the dazed Jae Eunho in a seemingly admonishing tone.
“It’s all for your benefit.”
“I refuse the gaslighting. It won’t work on me anyway.”
“Once we catch them, you’ll admit there are few people who can protect you from the threat posed by your abilities.”
“And you’ll be all pleased with yourself.”
After replying, Jae Eunho coldly turned his gaze to the lock components in Lim Geonhwi’s hand. Lim Geonhwi answered with a pale smile.
“The reason sentient beings can’t escape reincarnation is because of foolishness, right? It’s time to let go of some of that foolishness, Eunho.”
“That applies to ordinary sentient beings. My reincarnation is due to a curse.”
“So, if receiving that curse wasn’t foolish, what was it?”
“…….”
“You and that guy who exploded are equally foolish.”
Having finished speaking, Lim Geonhwi left the room.
That expression just now. He felt the urge to beat Lim Geonhwi’s face, with that cold, mocking smile, to death. It was an absurdly powerful urge. Jae Eunho jumped out of bed, oblivious to his nakedness.
The only object in sight was the machine used to insert the electric dildo into Eunho’s body. Eunho lifted the machine with both arms.
He approached Lim Geonhwi’s back as he was leaving through the front door. The madness in Jae Eunho’s eyes, though obscured by his glasses, glimmered faintly.
However, Jae Eunho stopped before reaching the front door. He realized how ridiculous he would look in Lim Geonhwi’s eyes, standing there naked, holding up the electric machine.
He slammed the machine down. Something inside broke as it hit the floor. Lim Geonhwi, before closing the door and locking the external lock, gave a final warning to Jae Eunho, who was crouching beside the machine.
“Be careful.”
“You be careful. Don’t think you’ll be safe after incurring the wrath of Sa Yeonri.”
Jae Eunho, cursing with vacant eyes, looked like a different person.
“You, who are earning only hatred, not even affection.”
“…….”
Lim Geonhwi, unable to find a response, let out a tired sigh. He slammed the door shut. The heavy metal locks clicked into place.
Hours later, Jae Eunho noticed the blood flowing from his big toenail. It had been crushed when he dropped the vibrating dildo machine. However, he felt no pain from the broken nail.
:・⚜️⊹.️
The sky outside the window brightened as usual. Jae Eunho had stayed up all night. After briefly dozing off and waking up at sunrise, he rummaged through the house until broad daylight.
He didn’t touch the day’s worth of food that Lim Geonhwi had briefly left inside in the morning.
He cleaned up the broken machine, showered, and piled all the items in the house into the living room. In between, whenever he had a moment, he paced by the window. His broken toenail didn’t hurt.
The reason he kept checking outside the window was because he thought Deputy Director Oh Jigeun and Choi Jungkyung would do something if they knew he was incommunicado and trapped. There was only one way for them to contact him in this high-rise hotel-style apartment with strict access control and no way for people to climb up.
A drone.
“It’s here!”
Late in the afternoon, a flying object buzzed outside the window. Jae Eunho rushed to the window with joyful steps.
“Heave-ho!”
He missed a few times between the drone and himself. He finally managed to snatch the string hanging from the drone with his right leg.
The drone crashed to the floor with a terrifying sound, breaking apart. Attached to the string was a ziplock bag containing a new cell phone. Another new phone. He’d lost count of how many times his phone had been replaced in the past few days. He called the number with the missed calls, and Deputy Director Oh Jigeun answered.
—Are you okay? Ha… That bastard Lim Geonhwi is like a ghost. How did he get a whiff of us secretly investigating Shi Taehyun and lock you up? That bloodsucking hound.
“That damn bloodsucking hound locked the door from the outside.”
—That disgusting bastard.
After thoroughly cursing Lim Geonhwi, Deputy Director Oh Jigeun got to the main point.
—Shi Taehyun escaped.
He hadn’t thought Lim Geonhwi’s words were a lie. He knew, but it felt like a renewed confirmation.
“…I heard.”
—Apparently, he removed the anklet. The monitoring officer, suspicious because the location kept showing his home, went to his house and he wasn’t there.
Jae Eunho reviewed the problems at hand one by one. The group that tried to kidnap him, the unknown powder they spread, the mysterious earthquake, Shi Taehyun’s escape. Why did he use the monster as an excuse to deceive Jae Eunho and escape prison? Where did he go after escaping? Whose side was he on? He couldn’t even begin to guess.
Jae Eunho put aside his frustration and asked,
“What’s the other progress? I also gave you information about an unknown powder being distributed.”
—That information also came from Shi Taehyun. There’s no physical evidence or reliable information. The investigation has been suspended.
He was right. Now that Shi Taehyun was gone, nothing was certain. Just a moment ago, Jae Eunho’s face, which had lit up at the sight of the drone, was now filled with emptiness.
“…Let me know if you figure out even roughly which country that kidnapping group is based in.”
—Alright. I’ll call you again. Make sure to eat until your house arrest is lifted.
“Yes.”
After hanging up, Jae Eunho leaned against the wall and sat down. He saw the untouched food still sitting by the closed door.
