Resurrection Chapter 39 - What Manners!

His infinite trust.

A faith that was almost blind became the driving force that made him feel as if he could accomplish anything.

At this point, he truly wondered if he could reach max level, defeat the Black King, and fulfill his wish. He had come to believe in the future that Kim Yitae so fervently believed in, as if it had already happened.

But dating?

It was truly sudden.

He had never imagined that Kim Yitae would be involved in something like dating.

There had been no sign of it at all, so he was quite surprised when he mentioned a date. He had thought it was surely an excuse to get away from him, but to say he would introduce his lover.

Seo Heesoo did not know how to accept that fact. He did not even know what kind of expression to wear when he saw Kim Yitae’s lover tomorrow.

One thing was certain: he would not be able to welcome the person. This was because it was hard to believe that person would keep Kim Yitae’s secret.

The resurrection skill that Kim Yitae possessed was an ability that any mortal being would covet. Just because they were in a relationship would not free him from that greed.

On the contrary, there was a high possibility that he felt betrayed for choosing someone other than himself as the beneficiary. Perhaps he had agreed to go to the dungeon together to eliminate him there and monopolize Kim Yitae.

No, it was definitely so. His premonition-like intuition was warning him to be careful.

Seo Heesoo was confident in his premonition, but since the person was Kim Yitae’s lover, it was difficult to voice his suspicion.

He could not reveal his suspicion until he had concrete evidence. Until then, he had to watch the self-proclaimed lover stand by Kim Yitae’s side.

It would not be a pleasant sight, but if he could protect Kim Yitae…….

Seo Heesoo reached out and gently brushed aside the disheveled hair on Kim Yitae’s forehead. The touch of his fingertips against the warm skin and fine hair created a tender feeling.

Seo Heesoo flinched as if a spark had flown and curled his fingers. As he clenched his fist and withdrew his hand, Ulfheðinn’s first message echoed in his mind.

—Ulfheðinn says that chasing away the White Goddess was a very good thing.

Seo Heesoo did not know how to react to Ulfheðinn’s blunt praise. He could not say anything, but as if not caring, another message came in succession.

—Ulfheðinn promises to make possible what was impossible for the White Goddess.

Seo Heesoo questioned amidst his bewilderment.

He asked cautiously.

‘What can you do for me?’

—Ulfheðinn says he will grant what you truly desire.

Slap! Slap!

At the pain of a slap across his cheek, Yoon Younghyun’s eyes shot open.

As soon as he opened his eyes, his stomach churned with nausea, and he was about to bend over and vomit. Kang Cheoljun clamped a hand over his mouth and warned.

“Don’t throw up. It’s a potion.”

At the word potion, Yoon Younghyun swallowed the rising nausea back down. Wondering why his stomach was so upset, he looked around and found himself in an unfamiliar place.

Judging by the dim light of the luminescent stones and the damp smell of mold, it was underground. It was an unpleasant place that looked just like a torture chamber, with broken tiles here and there and rooms inexplicably divided by iron bars.

Yoon Younghyun rubbed his churning stomach and said.

“Did we teleport? Where is this?”

“We moved quite a distance, so you’ll have aftereffects. Rather than that, it would be right to think about how you ended up here.”

Yoon Younghyun retraced his memories.

He had witnessed Kim Yitae using Resurrection in the dungeon. As soon as he realized that Kim Yitae possessed the resurrection skill, he tried to bring him in without thinking, but he could not shake off Seo Heesoo, who had become Ulfheðinn’s first-class apostle.

After losing Kim Yitae, Yoon Younghyun, who had left the dungeon, immediately requested manpower from the Clan Assembly. He, too, was the leader of Team A and a Clan Leader, so it was possible for him to make various requests to the Clan Assembly.

The Clan Assembly demanded an explanation, but he brushed it off vaguely. Even if they were of the same clan, he could never reveal Kim Yitae’s secret.

Afterward, he obtained information that Kim Yitae had entered an S-rank dungeon with Seo Heesoo, and he lay in wait at the dungeon entrance with Team A and several other werewolves. Since it was an S-rank dungeon, even Kim Yitae and Seo Heesoo would come out exhausted, so it was the perfect time to ambush them.

But Kim Yitae did not appear, and some mysterious person did.

It was a kid with his hood pulled down low.

He did not know who the guy was, but the items he had were no ordinary things. He appeared with not one, but several epic-grade summoning items and crushed dozens of werewolves.

Some, unable to contain their anger, transformed and had their breath cut short, and Yoon Younghyun himself barely managed to escape.

The Clan Assembly, upon hearing the news, was in an uproar. They urged Yoon Younghyun to attend the meeting and report everything in detail.

Of course, Yoon Younghyun could not be honest about the situation. He could not trust the Clan Assembly to keep Kim Yitae’s secret, and more importantly, it was clear that wolf bastards like himself would not stay quiet. If they found out about the resurrection skill, blood oath or not, they would surely become savage in their attempts to possess Kim Yitae.

Yoon Younghyun intended to go into hiding for a while. But it seemed that the mysterious person who had appeared at the dungeon entrance was the client who had requested Seo Heesoo’s murder.

One moment asking to kill Seo Heesoo, and the next, appearing out of nowhere and causing a ruckus.

He could not let it go, so he tracked the person’s trail and ended up being caught by the Clan Assembly. In the end, he was captured and forced to attend the Clan Assembly meeting.

‘Yoon Younghyun, if you are a blood brother, tell your comrades the truth. We already know that you accepted the murder request for Seo Heesoo. Wasn’t it the client who made that murder request who harmed our comrades at the entrance of dungeon number 77? Who is he? Explain why he harmed our comrades!’

Yoon Younghyun confessed that he had received the murder request, but he did not know the client’s identity. He also said that he did not know the person’s attitude would change so suddenly, but the Clan Assembly did not believe him.

In a way, it was natural. The Clan Assembly had noticed that Yoon Younghyun was hiding something related to Kim Yitae or Seo Heesoo.

‘There is no choice. Administer the truth serum.’

Faced with having his mouth forced open, Yoon Younghyun decided to flee. He might be exiled from the blood oath if he ran away, but he had no choice. It was better to turn his comrades into enemies than to reveal Kim Yitae’s secret.

If it became known that his secret had leaked from his own mouth, he would have no choice but to give up on Kim Yitae for real.

Just then, the mysterious person appeared again in the underground plaza.

It was the same kid who had appeared at the dungeon entrance, the client who had requested Seo Heesoo’s murder.

That person, surprisingly, appeared alone in the meeting hall swarming with the beasts among beasts. He strode confidently into the middle of the meeting hall and brandished an item similar to the one that had crushed Yoon Younghyun and the werewolves.

‘Summon!’

Unleashing the demonic beast Cerberus, a creature that could not even be seen in dungeons, the guy carefully slit the throats of the Clan Leaders with a mithril weapon, which was deadly to werewolves.

The Clan Leaders, at the risk of transforming into werewolves, tried to kill the kid, but the guy was a walking item museum. Wielding all sorts of items suspected to have been bought from the otherworld shop, he literally crushed the Clan Assembly.

Yoon Younghyun joined forces with his comrades to resist Cerberus, but in front of a demonic beast at the level of an S-rank dungeon boss monster, they were nothing more than passing mutts. Just one bite from the beast was enough to feel his waist break with a crack.

As he was thrown into the air like a rag doll with a broken waist, the hiding Kang Cheoljun appeared and snatched him. As soon as he caught Yoon Younghyun, he teleported, and it seemed this was where they had arrived.

Yoon Younghyun recalled the terrible pain of being chewed on by Cerberus and felt his waist. The potion must have been expensive, as the broken bones and severed nerves were recovering.

The muscles and skin had not yet healed. Since it could not be said that he was fully recovered, Yoon Younghyun lay back down flat on his back and said.

“Why did you save me?”

“Let’s just say I was on an errand and ran into an unexpected situation.”

“Damn it, he’s crazy. An item that summons a demonic beast.”

Recalling the last scene he remembered, Yoon Younghyun ground his teeth, grind.

Weren’t summoning items usually for calling things like spirits or fairies? He had heard there were items that summoned creatures, but a demonic beast.

Kang Cheoljun, who had been rummaging in his pocket, took something out. Yoon Younghyun turned to look at it and flinched.

What Kang Cheoljun took out was a translucent capsule, slightly smaller than an egg and shaped like a peanut. What was inside was writhing unpleasantly, and it was not difficult to guess what it was.

Yoon Younghyun said, pale-faced.

“That’s…!”

Kang Cheoljun nodded his head.

“That’s right, our Rose of Sharon’s specialty.”
