Resurrection Chapter 86 - This Is More Like You
I had decided to enter Dungeon 77 with Heesoo hyung to find the demon sword, but we couldn’t head there right away. It was because not only I, but Heesoo hyung as well, was without a weapon. His greatsword had been shattered by Yaksha’s Trishula, so he needed to get a new one.
His primary weapon is a giant two-handed sword that is beyond merely large. Unless it was a sword made of cheap reinforced aluminum, it was only natural for it to be expensive. The sword he used before, made of 100% adamantium, cost several billion.
Actually, several billion was on the cheaper side. Compared to Heesoo hyung’s fame, it was an ordinary weapon, but that was because he didn’t own any private property. Naturally, he was now penniless, so I planned to get his weapon for him.
I could happily buy a weapon for Heesoo hyung, but I didn’t want to settle for a weapon that was only worth a few billion. I wanted to get him an excellent one so that it would never be damaged again.
It would be nice if it was a weapon from the Otherworldly Store.
Of course, I don’t know when or where the Otherworldly Store opens. The only person who knew that was the regressor, Min Gongchan. So, before entering Dungeon 77, I told Heesoo hyung that we should find Min Gongchan first.
“It’s dangerous for both of us to enter an S-rank dungeon without weapons. First, let’s find Min Gongchan and go to the Otherworldly Store. Getting your weapon there comes first.”
Heesoo hyung replied with a look that showed he wasn’t too keen on the idea.
“I may need a weapon, but must we really meet that person, Min Gongchan?”
“I know it’s awkward to meet him again since he led us into a trap. To be honest, I don’t want to get involved with him anymore if I can help it. But we still have to get what’s ours. The Dimension Pocket and the Otherworldly Store are what that guy promised, along with your leveling up. And above all…”
I swallowed the words, “Shouldn’t he apologize for leaving us behind in hellfire?” I thought it was enough for me alone to carry the burden of debt towards Min Gongchan.
“In the end, I reached Lv. 61 thanks to him, so I don’t resent him for leading me into a trap. I just…”
“Just?”
I urged him to continue as I prepared to go outside. But before hyung could finish his sentence, Park Sigyeong appeared, pulling back the tent flap.
“I’m all ready.”
Heesoo hyung asked him.
“Are you coming with us too, Mr. Sigyeong?”
I straightened up and answered in Park Sigyeong’s place.
“No, this guy has something else to do.”
Park Sigyeong ignored me and bowed his head only to Heesoo hyung.
“Then I’ll head to the Grand Temple first.”
He greeted only Heesoo hyung when I was standing closer. So Heesoo hyung is important and I’m not even in his sights, is that it?
As Park Sigyeong left the tent just like that, Heesoo hyung said, as if to himself, “He must have some business at the Grand Temple.” I finished packing my equipment and replied to his words.
“I’m the one who sent him to the Grand Temple. To go and get your share.”
Hyung, who had seemed lost in thought, asked in surprise at my answer.
“My share?”
I handed him the fully packed bag and said.
“Think of how much you contributed to the church as a Holy Knight. It doesn’t make sense to write all of that off as volunteer work.”
“But I’m no longer a Holy Knight, and I have nothing to do with the Church of the White Goddess…”
“Right, since the ties are cut, let’s settle what needs to be settled. Don’t worry. I didn’t send him to extort money or anything. I told him to bring back the holy relic.”
“The holy relic, you mean Ariadne’s Crown?”
“Yeah. The one that helps with HP recovery.”
The White Goddess, who doted on Heesoo hyung, had bestowed a holy relic, but she did not give him a weapon. Instead, hoping for Heesoo hyung to be safer, she bestowed upon him Ariadne’s Crown, a piece of protective gear simply called Gemma.
Though it was called a crown, it wasn’t a real one, but an item attached to the forehead that emitted a soft, subtle light like a pearl. It allowed the wearer’s HP to recover at an extremely fast rate, so unless one was taken down in a single blow, one would never fall from running out of stamina.
The reason Heesoo hyung was able to become a legendary tanker was also thanks to the foundation of his monstrous recovery power from Gemma. It would naturally be useful for a berserker as well. That much was something Heesoo hyung could rightfully demand as compensation for his long years of contribution to the Church of the White Goddess.
Originally, I hadn’t thought of retrieving it because of the rumor that Heesoo hyung had committed a transgression and been abandoned by the White Goddess. But now that I was certain through Park Sigyeong that it wasn’t true, there was nothing to hold me back.
If Heesoo hyung had not been abandoned by the White Goddess but had abandoned her, it would be an incredibly disgraceful matter for the church. I had heard that the church’s influence had weakened considerably after Heesoo hyung was no longer a Holy Knight. Their situation was already bad, so they would be in quite a predicament if the truth got out; they would have no choice but to accept our demand.
I said with a smile.
“It should be fine since we’re not going to ask for ownership. It’s a holy relic of the White Goddess, so it seems unreasonable to demand that much. We’re just asking to borrow it indefinitely, so they’ll likely agree under most circumstances.”
“I’m not sure if Mr. Park Sigyeong will be able to make such a demand to the church.”
“I’m a little worried too, but isn’t it better than you, who has become a berserker, or me, who snatched you away, going and demanding the holy relic?”
Heesoo hyung nodded his head, agreeing that was true.
I split the fully packed luggage with him. Needless to say, it was incredibly heavy once we had all our equipment.
I once again burned with desire for a Dimension Pocket. Min Gongchan, wherever that bastard is, I have to find him! I have to find him and, separate from the apology, I absolutely must get what’s mine.
After leaving the cave, I made sure to block the entrance well so that monsters couldn’t come and go. Then, after covering my and Heesoo hyung’s faces with a simple illusion spell, I started walking toward the active zone to get out of the dungeon and said.
“That guy, Min Gongchan, was rescued by Kang Cheoljun and Yoon Younghyun, so we should be able to find out his whereabouts from them.”
It would be nice if I could just call and ask, but my cell phone was dead because we were inside a dungeon. There was also no guarantee that Kang Cheoljun and Yoon Younghyun would cooperate after a few phone calls, so it was faster to go find them in person.
I quickened my pace briskly, and Heesoo hyung, following behind me, asked.
“Which one are you thinking of going to first?”
“If we go to Iicheong, we’ll probably run into Kim Piljoong, so let’s pass on that and go see the easy-to-handle wolf pups first.”
“You mean Yoon Younghyun’s A-Team.”
“Yeah, that’s right. Shall we pick up the pace then? Haste.”
I cast a buff, and the two of us began to run at a fast speed.
👑
If you were to pick the most expensive place in Sejong City, it would be Naseong-dong.
This is because it has a good view with a river running alongside it, and it is considered the safest place in the country due to its proximity to the provisional government complex. Most of the renowned attack parties had a building in the Naseong-dong or Daepyeong-dong area, which was a show of ostentation that also served as a real estate investment.
They secretly hid their real base inside a dungeon and put up a magnificent-looking building on the outside, calling it their headquarters. You couldn’t get anything out of an investigation there, so people would jokingly ask if it wasn’t just a promotional hall.
Like a promotional hall, it was indeed jaw-dropping once you set foot inside. You didn’t even need to step inside; just looking at it from the outside, you could feel the wealth and status of a major regular party.
As Naseong-dong was lined with the buildings that made up Sejong City’s skyline, the land prices were bound to be high. And as much as it was expensive, it was worth the money; there were no cars on the ground level in the Naseong-dong area. Only trams came and went, and a pedestrian-only road stretched along the numerous parks between the buildings all the way to the riverbank.
Crossing that area, I arrived in front of the building where Yoon Younghyun’s office was, my face flushed red with embarrassment. It was because I was being carried in Heesoo hyung’s arms, and there were quite a few people around.
“P-put me down.”
As I struggled in embarrassment, Heesoo hyung put me down. He spoke to me as I awkwardly brushed off my clothes.
“I’m sorry. It’s just much faster to run while carrying you.”
“I know, I know.”
I had intended to get out of the dungeon at high speed by adding to our pace with Haste magic. It was a thoughtless choice to save mana, but the problem was the physical difference between me and Heesoo hyung. Even with the same buff, Heesoo hyung’s speed was several times faster. In the end, he carried me and ran out of the dungeon, reaching our destination in an instant.
I tried hard to shake off my embarrassment and looked up at the building in front of me. A-Team’s office was located in the shabbiest building in the expensive Naseong-dong.
It must be a rental, but I don’t know why they stubbornly set up an office in a place with high monthly rent. It wouldn’t have mattered if they set it up in Jochiwon or Sintanjin. Anyway, so full of themselves…
I clicked my tongue inwardly and kicked the door of the A-Team office, which was located not on the ground floor but in the basement. Bang! The werewolves who were lounging on the haphazardly scattered sofas were startled and shot up from their seats all at once.
The bastards puffed up their physiques, which were already bulked up with illegal drugs, even more and bared their teeth. I dispelled the illusion magic and laid down a threat.
“Who do you think you’re baring your teeth at right now? Close your mouths so I can’t see your fangs!”
The werewolves, besides Kim Mina who recognized me, seemed startled and softened their menacing expressions. Instead, they glanced back and forth between me and Seo Heesoo, not knowing what to do.
It was understandable. They were in a position where they would have nothing to say even if I were to define them as enemies right now.
If Younghyun was here it might be different, but the small fries alone were no match for me or Heesoo hyung. If I wanted to kill the bastards here, I could do so at any time, so they didn’t dare to act rashly. Instead, Kim Mina stepped forward and bowed her head with a rather respectful attitude.
