“Haah!”

“More over here, please!”

“Two more mobs coming in!”

First floor of an A-rank dungeon under the Yeon Guild.

Choi Tae-hyuk, who had been watching the B- and C-rank Hunters fight with everything they had, glanced down at Bia, who was rubbing herself against his leg. In her giant form, Bia looked ready to sprint straight at the mobs, her mouth twitching enough to show her fangs.

T/N: From here on, Bia will be referred to as “her.”

“Bia, no. Wait.”

At his words, Bia let out a dissatisfied whine. Taking his eyes off her, Choi Tae-hyuk lightly tapped Saphi on the shoulder.

“Go help them.”

Even though this dungeon was A-rank, the number of mobs was small, so Choi Tae-hyuk had expected the raid to go smoothly with two attackers and three defenders. He clicked his tongue.

They were attacking recklessly without any proper strategy, which was why the raid was taking far longer than planned. Saphi darted toward the Hunters and generated a gust of wind that pushed the mobs back a step, giving the two attackers a moment to breathe. They sighed in relief.

“Do we even have time to breathe? We’re way past the clear time we planned.”

At the stern remark, Han Jae-min — a B-rank attack-type Hunter — looked at Choi Tae-hyuk with a tearful face. But Choi Tae-hyuk simply stood there with his arms crossed.

“Can’t you help us a little? We’re struggling here…”

At the whining of Choi Su-jeong, a C-rank hunter, Hong Seo-young — a B-rank defender — frowned and said,

“You’re asking a demon for help? Keep dreaming.”

Choi Tae-hyuk — the living demon of the Yeon Guild. All Hunters who joined the guild eventually called the Vice Guild Master a demon.

From the very beginning of the guild, he had worked side by side with Gumiho to handle operations. On top of that, he spent every spare moment hovering around Ji Yeon-woo, leaving little chance to interact with other hunters.

As a result, new recruits viewed Ji Yeon-woo as a Mother Teresa-like figure who supported them wholeheartedly, while Choi Tae-hyuk became known only as the administrative vice guild master.

But once the guild stabilized and Choi Tae-hyuk stepped away from admin work to begin training the new hunters, his reputation plummeted. He didn’t just shout at them — he pushed them to their limits during sparring, and that was only the beginning.

If anyone failed to meet his standards, he forced them through brutal conditioning drills and intensive skill training until they caught up. Naturally, his standards were impossibly high for average hunters, and the recruits felt more tortured than trained.

Next to Ji Yeon-woo, he appeared to be a quiet, loyal subordinate — but in truth, he was a demon. Because of this, the Yeon Guild’s resignation rate skyrocketed the moment he took charge of training, even with the guild’s top-tier benefits.

The hunters who were barely hanging on begged Gumiho — the true power behind the guild — to save them, but the answer they received from her, on behalf of Choi Tae-hyuk, was absurd:

“Dragging around hunters with no potential doesn’t help protect the Guild Master.”

‘Wait… we weren’t hired to raid dungeons? We were hired to protect the Guild Master?’

The new recruits couldn’t shake that unsettling thought. After meeting with Gumiho, Choi Tae-hyuk grew even more ruthless. Eventually, five new hunters who could no longer endure it banded together and rebelled.

They thought they stood a chance if they attacked him all at once during break time — but Choi Tae-hyuk took them all down without breaking a sweat.

After that, the five underwent a hellish training course. Since then, no one dared challenge him again. That was how he truly earned the nickname The Demon.

“If you’ve got time to talk, kill them faster! I can barely keep this barrier up!” Hwang Hyo-yeon shouted, her arms trembling as she struggled to maintain it.

While Choi Su-jeong and Han Jae-min rushed back into the fray, Saphi captured one monster with wind and rolled it around like a toy.

“Meow!”

At the sharp cry, Choi Tae-hyuk lowered his hand and gently stroked Bia’s head.

“You’re already strong enough.”

Ji Yeon-woo had never said it outright, but Choi Tae-hyuk knew well just how powerful Bia was. Even as an S-rank himself, if he were to face her head-on, he couldn’t be sure he’d win.

“…Mrrrow…”

Unable to stay angry at Choi Tae-hyuk, who was trying to comfort her, Bia sulkily bit her own tail and sat down. Seeing her clearly declaring that she wouldn’t complain anymore, Choi Tae-hyuk smirked faintly and turned his attention back to the Hunters.

“Left.”

At his command, Choi Su-jeong unleashed a blast of ice to the left. While the monster that had been sneaking up was stunned by the sudden ice shower, Han Jae-min swiftly swung his sword and cut it down in one strike.

“Tsk. At this rate, we’ll be here until tomorrow.”

“Kyuu?”

Saphi—who had already taken down one monster and returned to Choi Tae-hyuk—tilted their head. At that moment—

Bzzzt.

Feeling the vibration from his pocket, Choi Tae-hyuk pulled out his phone. A text notification from Ji Yeon-woo lit up the screen.

‘…Weird. He usually calls.’

Ji Yeon-woo, being lazier than he looked, usually preferred calling over typing because he found tapping out messages annoying. After unlocking the phone, Choi Tae-hyuk read the message.

▷ I’m going to spar with Yeon Do-jin.

“…F*ck.”

Even with the deafening roars of monsters and blasts of ice magic echoing through the dungeon, his quiet curse rang out clearly.

The hunters froze mid-battle and stared at him. It was their first time hearing him swear out loud. Ignoring their reactions, Choi Tae-hyuk slipped his phone back into his pocket.

“Move aside.”

“V-Vice Guild Master?”

“Bia. Do whatever you want.”

At his permission, Bia spat out her tail and immediately charged toward the mobs. Saphi shot up into the air alongside her. Choi Tae-hyuk drew the sword at his waist as electric currents crackled from his hand.

“Anyone who falls behind gets left behind.”

“H-Huh?”

Instead of answering, Choi Tae-hyuk kicked off the ground, electricity surging around him, and charged headlong into the monsters.

I tore my gaze away from Yeon Do-jin, who was smiling, and gathered my power. A simple breeze wouldn’t strain my body. At first it was just a tickle—then the wind gradually grew stronger.

Talos was a hero with keen intelligence. If he realized the wind was blowing only toward him, he’d immediately figure out our plan.

So I had no choice but to spread the wind across the entire forest, not just in Talos’s direction. As the snowfall thickened and the ice crystals grew larger, snow began to accumulate on the ground.

☆ Snow in Autumn? has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

Just how powerful is Yeon Do-jin to overturn the seasons?

☆ It’s Snowing! has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

I love snow—because I’m the God of Water!

☆ Snow Isn’t the Important Part has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

Hey, focus on the people actually fighting over there.

Talos and Emelyn Kiyo were evenly matched. Even without using her main fire attacks, Emelyn Kiyo was grinning from ear to ear as she clashed with him.

‘She’s way too excited for some reason.’

Shaking my head at Emelyn Kiyo, who seemed to be having the time of her life, I glanced at Yeon Do-jin—who was just standing around.

“What are you doing? Go fight.”

“What about Guildmaster Ji Yeon-woo?”

‘Wow. He must be crazy. Why would I fight?’

“There’s an SS-rank and an S-rank right there. Why would I? I’m F-rank.”

Yeon Do-jin snorted, tossed something toward me, and ran off to join the battle. It was a blanket.

“When did he even bring this?”

☆ Earlier has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

So the thing he pulled from that opened space was a blanket?

☆ Aether has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

He brought a blanket because he thought you’d be cold? I’m seeing Yeon Do-jin in a new light.

I had rushed out wearing light clothes and was already freezing, so it was perfect timing. Watching Emelyn Kiyo and Yeon Do-jin fight fiercely, I happily wrapped the blanket around myself.

It wasn’t an ordinary blanket—probably crafted from dungeon materials with excellent insulation—so it warmed me immediately. I sat down and watched the three of them fight.

Even with SS-rank Yeon Do-jin and S-rank Emelyn Kiyo attacking together, Talos showed no signs of faltering. He was clearly turning this into an endurance battle.

Unlike heroes, humans don’t have infinite stamina. Yeon Do-jin wrapped his whip around Talos’s sword. Talos tried to yank it free, but perhaps SS-rank strength really was on a different level—Yeon Do-jin didn’t move an inch.

With his main weapon bound, Emelyn Kiyo launched herself toward Talos’s shield. Since fire didn’t work on his body, she instead ignited the shield, having noticed it was made of cloth.

☆ It’s Burning! has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

The shield is gone.

☆ Smart One has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

Who would’ve thought to burn the shield?

“Oooh.”

While the two hunters fought with everything they had, the snow and wind grew harsher.

“At this rate, everything will start freezing soon.”

Snow piled up on my shoulders as I sat. With this much snowfall, I wondered how frozen Talos must be getting. Humming lightly, I studied him closely and saw frost forming in the gaps of his armor.

“Lucky.”

Before Talos could notice, I subtly increased the wind’s intensity, letting even more snow and ice seep into his armor. Emelyn Kiyo and Yeon Do-jin radiated heat with every movement, but Talos was steadily freezing solid.

“At this rate, it’ll be over soon.”

Using the wind shield made my chest throb a little, but I wasn’t coughing up blood or seriously injured. For an S-rank monster wave, things were going surprisingly well. I was just thinking it was about time to wrap this up when Talos suddenly tossed aside his sword and charged straight toward me.

☆ What?! has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

Why is he going after Aether instead of fighting them?

☆ What’s Going On?! has donated 100 Mana Stones. ☆

Did he figure out you’re using wind?

“Ji Yeon-woo!”

At Emelyn Kiyo’s shout, I leapt up and formed a wind shield. But before I could fully block it, a broad back appeared in front of me.

Clang!

A heavy impact rang out as Talos’s massive fist collided with a sword.

“Choi Tae-hyuk?”
